大山深處的支教女警

李春先后獲評(píng)全國(guó)三八紅旗手，全國(guó)優(yōu)秀人民警察、2023年“最美基層民警”，2021－2022年度首都精神文明建設(shè)獎(jiǎng)、2021年度“首都最美巾幗奮斗者”、北京市公安局優(yōu)秀共產(chǎn)黨員、優(yōu)秀共青團(tuán)干部、2020“北京榜樣最美警察”、北京市公安局勤廉標(biāo)兵，榮立了個(gè)人二等功１次，三等功２次，個(gè)人嘉獎(jiǎng)２次。

初見李春，時(shí)值五月底，正是草長(zhǎng)鶯飛開始。

“我宣布：足球英語嘉年華活動(dòng)開幕！”隨著主持人李春話音落下，現(xiàn)場(chǎng)煙花盛放，人聲歡呼。

這是貴州省黔西南州普安縣西城區(qū)龍溪石硯小學(xué)舉辦活動(dòng)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)。為迎接六一兒童節(jié)到來，民警李春和同事會(huì)同學(xué)校開展“紅領(lǐng)巾愛祖國(guó)、爭(zhēng)做新時(shí)代好隊(duì)員”慶六一暨第二屆足球英語嘉年華活動(dòng)。

從高坡上俯瞰，整個(gè)學(xué)校坐落在巍峨的九龍山下。山上樹林茂密，青翠欲滴；山下校園優(yōu)美，風(fēng)格雅致。足球操場(chǎng)正中間擺放著一支巨大“夢(mèng)想”足球，23名足球運(yùn)動(dòng)員圍繞站立，象征學(xué)校的足球人偶和象征北京市公安局支教團(tuán)的警察人偶手牽手進(jìn)入場(chǎng)地，依次向代表著23個(gè)班級(jí)的運(yùn)動(dòng)員傳遞足球，學(xué)生們用隊(duì)形變化和手中的紅綢拼成“六一”字樣，高喊校訓(xùn)：明志修德、自信自強(qiáng)。

伴著歡快的英語歌曲，結(jié)合了足球技能和英語知識(shí)的游戲競(jìng)賽環(huán)節(jié)正式開始。比賽分為學(xué)生對(duì)抗和親子互動(dòng)兩類。學(xué)生與家長(zhǎng)積極參與親子足球、傳球接力和射門。“閑庭信步”“百步穿楊”“龍溪之巔”等游戲項(xiàng)目現(xiàn)場(chǎng)歡聲笑語。最后，李春和同事及學(xué)校老師上臺(tái)為學(xué)生們頒獎(jiǎng)。

整個(gè)活動(dòng)精彩紛呈?？粗耆两诨顒?dòng)氛圍中的李春，不禁要問，她為何要從2300多公里之外的北京來到這里支教？

樸素的發(fā)心

李春 2014年參加公安工作，現(xiàn)任北京市公安局天安門地區(qū)分局巡警大隊(duì)綜合中隊(duì)中隊(duì)長(zhǎng)。她的老家在山東濱州的一個(gè)小村莊。李春自小刻苦學(xué)習(xí)，考入中國(guó)外交學(xué)院碩士研究生。在校學(xué)習(xí)期間，她在微博上看到一則“為社區(qū)留守兒童教英語”的志愿者信息時(shí)，心頭一緊，其實(shí)她自己就是一名留守兒童……

5歲那年，父母迫于生計(jì)，外出打工。自她記事起，便被寄養(yǎng)在一個(gè)又一個(gè)親戚家里。開家長(zhǎng)會(huì)，父母從未去過。

那年冬天，很冷，10歲的她騎車上學(xué)。一不留神，人仰車翻，她愣是自己爬起來推著車?yán)^續(xù)上學(xué)。手被凍傷，腫得如胡蘿卜，握不住鉛筆。兩天后雙手開始化膿，疼得鉆心。班主任發(fā)現(xiàn)了這一情況，燒來一壺水，倒進(jìn)臉盆，一點(diǎn)一點(diǎn)兌上涼水，叫她到身邊，給她的雙手輕輕地淋，待水溫合適后再浸泡，泡完手，擦干，從抽屜里拿出一管“蛇油膏”護(hù)手霜，涂滿了她的雙手。這幅畫面，直到現(xiàn)在，李春都記憶猶新。特別是想起班主任細(xì)心專注呵護(hù)的眼神，她心中都是暖流。每逢周末，班主任還把她叫到自家，變著花樣兒給她做吃的。受到老師感染，同學(xué)們也愿意幫她。沒錢換飯票，小伙伴把自己的饅頭分給她，放學(xué)了，帶她去家里“蹭”了一個(gè)月飯。陰天下雨，同學(xué)主動(dòng)把雨傘雨衣借給她，他們自己卻飛快地跑進(jìn)雨中。

李春坦言：“現(xiàn)在想想，那種天然淳樸校風(fēng)、學(xué)風(fēng)，是我作為留守兒童健康成長(zhǎng)的最大因素?！?/p>

想到這些，她毫不猶豫地報(bào)了名。她要讓那些孩子們也能感受到自己曾經(jīng)收獲的溫暖，從而回饋社會(huì)更多的愛。正是年幼時(shí)這些樸素、善良的生活養(yǎng)分，讓她對(duì)生活有了更飽滿的體悟，構(gòu)建了她的人生觀。

動(dòng)人的初心

從中國(guó)外交學(xué)院畢業(yè)前，李春有機(jī)會(huì)留在英國(guó)大使館文化教育處工作，同時(shí)她也報(bào)考了天安門地區(qū)分局的警察崗位。當(dāng)年招6名女警，她排第7，在不抱希望的時(shí)候，接到了招生處電話：“前面有人放棄了，你被遞補(bǔ)上來了?！彼鋈挥X得自己的選擇是多么正確！

那一年正逢國(guó)慶節(jié)，她第一次作為守護(hù)天安門地區(qū)安全的警察站到金水橋邊的紅墻下，發(fā)現(xiàn)午后陽(yáng)光透過噴泉形成一道彩虹，來自五湖四海的人們眺望著廣場(chǎng)上的五星紅旗，眼神充滿著光明與希望。她的內(nèi)心瞬間被感染，心里洋溢的滿是驕傲與自豪，同時(shí)倍感珍惜。

寒來暑往，李春在這個(gè)崗位上深深地扎下了根。

“大家把背包盡量背到胸前，確保在自己視線內(nèi)，不要擁擠，照顧好身邊老人和孩子?！?/p>

“下雨了，走，我?guī)降叵峦ǖ辣鼙馨??！?/p>

“您要去哪兒？前門嗎？不用穿馬路，先從這里走，對(duì)，一直往南?！?/p>

……

李春每天需要提示近千遍，引領(lǐng)著人流有序進(jìn)入廣場(chǎng)。嗓子啞了，喝水潤(rùn)潤(rùn)。趕上升國(guó)旗和重大國(guó)事活動(dòng)，完成任務(wù)回到家，她躺上床就睡著了。

一次，安檢棚內(nèi)發(fā)現(xiàn)一張無人認(rèn)領(lǐng)的山東財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)學(xué)生證。她趕緊私信山東財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)微博，借助校友群發(fā)布尋人信息，終于找到了丟失證件的同學(xué)。從此，為“失物尋找失主”成了她一項(xiàng)重要工作。其中一位失主給她寄來感謝信：世界那么大，感謝你大海撈針般的工作……就這樣，“大海撈針姑娘”成了李春的代名詞。這種窮盡一切辦法“大海撈針”的做法在分局內(nèi)也迅速傳播開來。

2017年，天安門地區(qū)分局成立了“李春為民服務(wù)站”，吸納50名民警，在做好日常勤務(wù)工作的同時(shí)，為群眾提供查找走失親人、失物尋找、義務(wù)寄還、旅游咨詢、緊急救助、安全宣傳等綜合服務(wù)。

一年多，“李春為民服務(wù)站”為900余件無主財(cái)物找到失主，獲得了首都學(xué)雷鋒志愿服務(wù)“五個(gè)一百”最佳志愿服務(wù)組織稱號(hào)，成為北京公安民警開展志愿服務(wù)活動(dòng)的優(yōu)秀代表。

在此基礎(chǔ)上，分局充分考慮參觀群眾緊急需求，創(chuàng)新推出了“為民服務(wù)車”，于2021年國(guó)慶節(jié)開進(jìn)天安門廣場(chǎng)。李春當(dāng)仁不讓地成為這輛車的負(fù)責(zé)人。車內(nèi)配備了可供休息座椅、飲用水、急救用品和臨時(shí)母嬰室。2022年“為民服務(wù)車”升級(jí)，母嬰室內(nèi)增設(shè)了尿布臺(tái)、兒童讀物，車外碼放了防“電詐”冊(cè)子、每日更新升降旗時(shí)刻表。李春帶領(lǐng)的“巾幗服務(wù)隊(duì)”全天候在線，群眾說，這是開往春天幸福的車啊。當(dāng)年國(guó)慶節(jié)，李春又設(shè)計(jì)制作了三款“國(guó)慶”主題和“喜迎二十大”主題紀(jì)念章，群眾自發(fā)帶著賀卡、書本、地圖和衣服到服務(wù)車蓋章留念。

自此，李春“為民服務(wù)車”除了有問詢指路、安全宣傳、失物招領(lǐng)、走散尋人、健康救助、母嬰服務(wù)、協(xié)助預(yù)約、臨時(shí)休息服務(wù)外，多了“愛國(guó)主義教育”功能。

2023年五一假期，李春和她的戰(zhàn)友們創(chuàng)新推出了“江山如此多嬌——我在廣場(chǎng)過五一”活動(dòng)，邀請(qǐng)游客在中國(guó)地圖上通過畫紅心方式標(biāo)注家鄉(xiāng)位置，形成爆款。游客說，一趟天安門，終生難忘，永遠(yuǎn)相信人民警察！很多外國(guó)游客駐足詢問，他用英語介紹：這是中國(guó)地圖，是我們祖國(guó)的山河！游客們豎起大拇指說：“中國(guó)警察，真棒！”擁有外交專業(yè)學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷的李春，將“為民服務(wù)車”打造成了向世界各國(guó)游客展示中國(guó)警察形象的窗口。

由于工作突出，她先后獲評(píng)全國(guó)三八紅旗手、全國(guó)優(yōu)秀人民警察、2023年全國(guó)“最美基層民警”。

有人問她，苦不苦？她說不苦，感到驕傲！她的眼神始終定格在天安門廣場(chǎng)五星紅旗的朝升暮降上，她說，這是堅(jiān)守的動(dòng)力。

遠(yuǎn)方的錚心

“媽媽想去貴州支教，你支持不支持?。靠粗銑Z眶而出的眼淚和哇哇大哭的神情，好難受。也記得你在每天晚上入睡前都會(huì)跟我確認(rèn)，媽媽你不會(huì)明天就走了吧？我也在你的一遍遍提問中懷疑、猶豫，在你只有5歲多的時(shí)候，我是不是該選擇離開你？可是媽媽最終還是堅(jiān)持了自己的選擇，你要堅(jiān)定地相信，即使媽媽不在你身邊，對(duì)你的愛只會(huì)與日俱增，絕不消減半分。希望在那一天來臨之前，媽媽多陪陪你。在新的一年到來之際，媽媽希望可以通過這封寫給你的信，跟你聊聊媽媽想去支教的原因，希望你讀完后，媽媽的這封請(qǐng)假信可以得到你的批準(zhǔn)。媽媽小時(shí)候啊，是一名留守兒童……”

這是李春支教前寫給孩子的信。她不只是在勸說家人，其實(shí)也是在堅(jiān)定著自己的決心。

“李警官，今天是2024 年3 月13 日，歡迎你，感謝！”一張畫著國(guó)旗桿和一個(gè)敬禮卡通女警的手折立體紫色賀卡靜靜地?cái)[放在宿舍書桌上，李春的心瞬間被溫暖了。她知道，來自學(xué)校老師的鼓勵(lì)和支持是多么珍貴！選擇報(bào)名支教那刻起，她就希望通過自己的成長(zhǎng)經(jīng)歷來幫助孩子們。

李春終于如愿來黔西南州支教了。這次她在支教團(tuán)隊(duì)中任副書記，負(fù)責(zé)英語支教整體工作。支教英語民警包括她共6人，分赴興義市陸官小學(xué)、普安縣龍溪實(shí)硯小學(xué)、東城區(qū)民族實(shí)驗(yàn)學(xué)校。

三地英語支教工作在李春的牽動(dòng)下，６人每月在云平臺(tái)上召開內(nèi)部教研會(huì)，以劍橋英語ＫＢ１為主要教材，根據(jù)當(dāng)月教學(xué)計(jì)劃、課堂效果和下月教學(xué)重點(diǎn)、方式改進(jìn)依次發(fā)言交流。他們還將中國(guó)法定節(jié)假日選做英文素材，每人認(rèn)領(lǐng)１～２個(gè)，依據(jù)來源、演變、習(xí)俗制作視頻、ＰＰＴ（演示文稿）等形式向?qū)W生們介紹，增強(qiáng)大家民族自豪感。特別是圍繞英語風(fēng)采大賽的培訓(xùn)開展研討，互相提升進(jìn)步。

李春所在的龍溪實(shí)硯小學(xué)建于2019年底，學(xué)校搶抓公安部幫扶機(jī)遇，以青少年校園足球運(yùn)動(dòng)為載體，在北京市公安局支教民警的輔導(dǎo)下，發(fā)揚(yáng)足球精神，刻苦學(xué)習(xí)英語，帶動(dòng)實(shí)現(xiàn)德智體美勞全面發(fā)展。

全校學(xué)生近千人，有漢族、布依族、苗族、回族、彝族等民族。學(xué)生宿舍名為“筑夢(mèng)軒”，就是讓學(xué)生從小樹立起“中華民族一家親，同心共筑中國(guó)夢(mèng)”的理念，構(gòu)建共居、共學(xué)、共享、共樂的幸福生活大家庭。

為了更好地掌握學(xué)校整體英語教學(xué)狀況，李春和同事積極向上一批支教民警請(qǐng)教，認(rèn)真與校方領(lǐng)導(dǎo)座談、溝通；聽課備課，向?qū)W校老師學(xué)習(xí)，溝通方法，啟發(fā)自身教學(xué)思路。她自己擔(dān)負(fù)兩個(gè)班級(jí)98名學(xué)生的興趣英語教學(xué)。最初，孩子們不敢張嘴說英語，她就從最基礎(chǔ)的個(gè)人介紹開始，逐步延伸到學(xué)校、家庭；只要表達(dá)，就及時(shí)正向反饋和激勵(lì)。她向?qū)W校建議，利用每周一升國(guó)旗機(jī)會(huì)，開展“國(guó)旗下講英語”活動(dòng)。班上女生小唐，聽說自己是建校近５年第一個(gè)國(guó)旗下用英語演說的學(xué)生，緊張地說，換別人吧。李春說，不要退縮，我會(huì)幫你的。一周輔導(dǎo)，小唐同學(xué)在飄揚(yáng)的國(guó)旗下自信大方地演講，贏得了全校師生掌聲。當(dāng)稚嫩激動(dòng)的小身板走下講臺(tái)時(shí)，她說，小唐，你創(chuàng)造了校史。榜樣的力量是無窮的，班里孩子們信心滿滿了。

山里孩子大部分是留守兒童或來自單親家庭，有幾百名學(xué)生常年寄宿在校外的托管中心，李春想起自己小時(shí)候，感同身受。

“上周末，我過生日，老爸終于回來了，還給我買了禮物，專門送到學(xué)校。”這是一個(gè)學(xué)生在向另一個(gè)“炫耀”，組織早操的李春無意間聽到。她找來簡(jiǎn)歷表，目光定在出生年月日一欄。太巧了，這周就有一個(gè)。

那是個(gè)隨風(fēng)潛入夜的雨天，當(dāng)晚自習(xí)讀書聲最后一絲音符止住，教室門口傳來了生日祝福歌。李春和同事托著一個(gè)蛋糕，上面插著13根蠟燭，燭光隨微風(fēng)輕輕搖曳。他們徑直走到一個(gè)孩子面前，將蛋糕放在書桌上。孩子從最初的震驚到“哇”地哭了出來，教室里響起了掌聲和生日歌，幾個(gè)苗族和布依族的孩子跳起了舞。

自此，給孩子們，特別是留守兒童過生日，成為支教民警一項(xiàng)重要的活動(dòng)。

黔西南州中小學(xué)生第四屆英語風(fēng)采大賽開始了，在全體師生共同努力和見證下，陸官小學(xué)獲得州級(jí)演講三等獎(jiǎng)、市級(jí)話劇三等獎(jiǎng)；龍溪實(shí)硯小學(xué)獲得州級(jí)話劇三等獎(jiǎng)、縣級(jí)演講一等獎(jiǎng)、三等獎(jiǎng)各１個(gè)、配音二等獎(jiǎng)，民族實(shí)驗(yàn)學(xué)校獲得縣級(jí)配音三等獎(jiǎng)、演講三等獎(jiǎng)。

“小學(xué)生純樸天真，學(xué)得也快。英語學(xué)習(xí)可以拓寬人的視野，提高跨文化交際能力，相信孩子們會(huì)有一個(gè)美好的未來。”李春說。

黔西南州位于云南、廣西、貴州三省（區(qū)）結(jié)合部，云貴高原東南端，屬于高海拔山區(qū)。目前，公安部定點(diǎn)幫扶貴州省黔西南州的北京市公安局支教民警團(tuán)隊(duì)先后有三批48人（62人次）來到這里支教，他們用青春和力量托舉著孩子們走出大山，改變命運(yùn)。■

A Female Officer in the Mountains

I first met Li Chun in late May， —when the grass was lush and orioles hovering overhead.

\"I declare the Football English Carnival officially open！\" As the host Li's voice rang out， fireworks burst into the sky， and the crowd erupted in cheers.

This was an event at Longxi Shiyan Elementary School in Pu'an county， Guizhou province. To celebrate Children's Day on June 1st， police officer Li and her colleagues teamed up with the school to organize the 2nd Football English Carnival， blending football and English learning.

The school is nestled beneath the towering Jiulong mountain， its slopes blanketed in dense woods， and its campus elegant and beautiful. In the center of the football field stands a giant \"Dream\" football， surrounded by 23 football players. A police mascot and a football mascot representing the school enter the field hand in hand， passing the ball to athletes representing the 23 classes. The students use formations and red silk ribbons to spell out \"June 1st，\" shouting the school motto in unison： \"Virtue and confidence.\"Accompanied by cheerful English songs， the competitions combining football skills and English knowledge officially began. The games were divided into two categories： student competitions and parent-child interactions. Both students and parents actively participated， creating a scene filled with laughter and joy. Finally， Li， along with colleagues and teachers， took the stage to present awards to the winning students.

Watching Li become caught up in the excitement of the event， you can't help but think： what drove her to travel over 2，300 kilometers from Beijing to volunteer here？

Simply Kind

Li began her career in law enforcement in 2014 and currently serves as a captain at the Beijing Public Security Bureau， working in the Tiananmen area. Born in a small village in Shandong Province， she was studying for her master's degree at China Foreign Affairs University when she came across a volunteer recruitment post on Weibo that read， \"Teach English to left-behind children in the community.\" A sudden pang struck her， reminiscent of her girlhood when she herself was left behind.

When Li was five years old， her parents left her hometown to earn a living. As far back as Li could remember， she had been shuffled between the homes of various relatives. Her parents had never attended a single parent-teacher meeting.

One bitterly cold winter， when Li was just 10， she was riding to school when she fell off her bike. She struggled to her feet and walked her bike all the way to school. Even worse， without proper protection in the winter， her hands became frostbitten， making it impossible for her to hold her pencil. Two days later， her hands began to fester， causing excruciating pain. Her homeroom teacher noticed and quickly made up a bowl of warm water and called Li over. Gently， she dropped the water over Li's hands， carefully adjusting the temperature before letting her soak them. Afterwards， the teacher dried Li's hands and generously applied hand cream. This moment made an indelible impression on Li. Caring and attentive， the teacher's gaze warmed her heart.

On weekends， the teacher would invite Li to her home and cook her meals. Inspired by the teacher's kindness， Li's classmates also began to help her. When Li couldn't afford school lunches， her classmates shared their lunches with her. After school， they took turns bringing her to their homes for meals， a routine that lasted for a month. On rainy days， her classmates would lend her their umbrellas and raincoats， often running off into the rain themselves.

\"Looking back now， I'd attribute my healthy growth to the simple kindness I received then at school\"， Li said.

So， when she saw the volunteering advert， she signed up without hesitation. She wanted those left-behind children to experience the same warmth she had received and to give even more love back to society. It was these simple， kind acts of care during her childhood that deepened her understanding of life and shaped her outlook on the world.

Highly Inspiring

Before graduating from university， Li had the opportunity to work at the British Council in Beijing. At the same time， she also applied for a position at the Beijing Public Security Bureau. That year， six female officers were to be recurited， and she ranked seventh. She had nearly abandoned hope when she received a call from the recruitment office： \"Someone ahead of you dropped out， and you've been moved up.\" A realization was dawning that she was right in her decision to join the police force！

It was the National Day that" she first stood as a police officer guarding the safety of the Tiananmen area， by the red wall at the Jinshui bridge. She noticed a rainbow across fountain. People from across the country gazed at the five-star red flag in the square， their eyes shining light and hope. At that moment， her heart was deeply moved， overflowing with pride and honor. She cherished the moment more than ever.

As the years passed， Li firmly established herself in this position.

\"Everyone， please carry your backpacks in front of you， and keep it in sight. Avoid crowding and take good care of the elderly and children.\"\"It's raining—come on， let me take you to the underpass for shelter.\"\"Where are you headed？ To Qianmen？ No need to cross the street. Just walk straight from here， yes， head south.\"She would give such reminders hundreds of times each day， guiding the flow of people into the square in an orderly manner. When her throat grew hoarse， she'd sip some water to soothe it. On special duty days with flag-raising ceremonies or major national events， she would return home so exhausted that she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

She once found a student ID card for Shandong University of Finance and Economics in the security check area. She quickly sent a message to the university's Weibo account and posted a search notice in the alumni group. Eventually， she found the student who had lost the ID. From then on， \"finding the owner of lost items\" became an important part of her work. One of the owners sent her a thank-you letter： \"The world is so vast， and I'm grateful for your effort to locate the needle in a haystack.\" Hence the nickname： \"Needle-in-a-Haystack Girl\". Her relentless， all-out approach to finding lost items quickly spread within the precinct.

In 2017， the sub-bureau where she works established the \"Li Chun Service Center，\" staffed with 50 police officers. In addition to their daily duties， they provided a range of services to the public： helping to locate missing people， finding lost items， voluntarily returning belongings， offering travel advice， providing emergency assistance， and conducting safety outreach.

In just over a year， the center successfully reunited over 900 unclaimed items with their owners. It earned the title of \"Top 100 Best Volunteer Service Organization\" in the capital's Lei Feng Volunteer Service Awards， becoming an outstanding representative of Beijing police officers..

Later the sub-bureau launched the \"Service Cart\" as a response to the urgent needs of visitors. The cart rolled into Tiananmen Square during National Day 2021. Of course， Li took on the role of its supervisor. The vehicle was equipped with seats， drinking water， first-aid supplies， and a temporary mother-and-baby room. In 2022， the service vehicle was upgraded， adding a diaper-changing table and children's books. Outside， anti-fraud pamphlets and a daily updated flag-raising schedule were available.

The \"Woman Officer Squad\" under Li's leadership were so heartwarming that the cart was dubbed the \"happy wagon to spring.\" During that year's National Day celebrations， Li also designed three special commemorative stamps， inviting visitors to stamp their books， maps， and even clothes as souvenirs.

From then on the cart has also functioned as mobile station for patriotic education as well.

During the 2023 May Day holiday， Li and her colleagues launched the innovative event called \"My Beautiful Home—Celebrating May Day at the Square.\" They invited visitors to mark their hometowns on a map of China with little red hearts， which quickly became a viral sensation. Visitors exclaimed， \"A trip to Tiananmen Square is unforgettable for life， and we'll always trust the police！\"

Many foreign tourists also stopped to inquire， and Li， fluent in English， explained， \"This is a map of China， showcasing our homeland's beautiful landscapes！\" The visitors gave a thumbs-up and said， \"Chinese police are awesome！\" With her background in international relations， Li transformed the Service Cart into a platform to showcase the image of Chinese police.

As the new year begins， I want to explain why I want to teach in Guizhou. I hope that after reading this letter， you will give me your blessing. I resolved simply because I myself had been a left-behind child.\"This is the letter Li wrote to her child before going to Guizhou as a volunteer. She was not just persuading her family; but also steeling her will.

\"Officer Li， today is March 13， 2024. Welcome， and thank you！\" read a" a purple pop-up greeting card featuring a cartoon female officer saluting the flag. The card sat quietly on Li's desk， instantly warming her heart. She appreciated the precious encouragement and support from the local teachers！ From the moment she decided to volunteer for teaching， she had been determined to help children by sharing her own experiences.

Finally she became a volunteer teacher in Guizhou. As the deputy secretary of the team， Li was in charge of" English teaching. Along with her were five police officers at three elementary schools respectively in Xingyi city， Pu'an county and Dongcheng district.

Under Li's coordination， the English teaching program across the three locations was well-structured. The six officers held monthly teaching research meetings on the cloud platform， using Cambridge English KB1 as the primary textbook. They took turns sharing insights based on the teaching plan， classroom effectiveness， and key focus areas for the upcoming month， continuously refining their teaching methods.

They also integrated China's statutory holidays into their English lessons， developing videos， PowerPoint presentations， and other materials to introduce their origins， evolution， and customs， fostering a sense of national pride among students. Additionally， they conducted training sessions for the English Proficiency Competition， supporting one another to improve and progress collectively.

Established at the end of 2019， Longxi Shiyan Primary School， where Li was stationed， seized the opportunity of support from the Ministry of Public Security. Initially， the children were too shy to speak English， so she started with basic self-introductions and gradually expanded to topics like school and family. She consistently provided positive feedback and encouragement whenever the students spoke.

She also suggested hosting an \"English Speech Under the National Flag\" every Monday during the flag-raising ceremony. One girl in her class， Xiao Tang， learned she would be the first student in the school's nearly five-year history to give an English speech under the flag. A week of intensive coaching helped Xiao Tang deliver a confident speech beneath the fluttering flag. She earned enormous applause from the entire school. Many of the school's students come from single-parent families or are left-behind children. Hundreds of them board at off-campus care centers year-round， a situation that deeply resonates with Li， as it reminds her of her own childhood.

\"Last weekend was my birthday， and my dad finally came back. He even bought me a gift and brought it to me at school，\" one student boasted to another， a conversation Li overheard by chance. She quickly glanced at the student roster， her eyes landing on the birth date column. What a coincidence—another student's birthday was coming up that week.

It was a rainy evening， and as the last notes of students' evening study faded into the quiet of the night， birthday wishes and songs began to float in the air. Li and her colleagues entered the classroom carrying a cake with 13 candles gently flickering in the breeze. They walked straight up to the birthday child and placed the cake on the desk. They earned multiple honors across various categories， including speech contests at the prefecture and county levels， drama competitions at the prefecture and city levels， and dubbing contests.

Qianxinan prefecture lies at the junction of Yunnan， Guangxi， and Guizhou， on the southeastern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau， a high-altitude mountainous region. To date， the Beijing Public Security Bureau's volunteer teaching team， under the Ministry of Public Security's targeted assistance program for Qianxinan prefecture， has sent three batches of" 48 officers" to teach there 62 times.
