VictorMauricioPaduaSouzaGarciais a student in the advanced speaking course atthe Confucius Institute of Sao Paulo State University in Brazil and is currently pursuing a PhD in psychiatry. At the age of 18，he set foot on Chinese soil forthe first time，and his travelstook him through Beijing，Xi'an， Shanghai， Suzhou， Hangzhou， Hong Kong， Guilin， and other cities，each offering a unique glimpse into China's profound history and vibrant local customs.

Music as the Connecting Bridge

在孔子學(xué)院學(xué)習(xí)中文的時(shí)候，Victor偶然接觸到了中國(guó)古琴音樂(lè)。那悠揚(yáng)的旋律、深邃的意境，瞬間吸引了他。出于對(duì)古琴音樂(lè)的癡迷，Victor在第二次前往中國(guó)時(shí)選擇在享有盛譽(yù)的國(guó)風(fēng)樂(lè)團(tuán)“自得琴社”深造。在求學(xué)過(guò)程中，Victor發(fā)現(xiàn)中國(guó)音樂(lè)療法歷史悠久，五行學(xué)說(shuō)和五聲音階緊密相聯(lián)。這種音樂(lè)與醫(yī)學(xué)的巧妙結(jié)合，讓他看到了音樂(lè)在精神療愈中的巨大潛力。于是，他開(kāi)始深入研究音樂(lè)療法，探索其與精神疾病治療的契合點(diǎn)。在實(shí)踐中，他嘗試將音樂(lè)融入治療環(huán)節(jié)，發(fā)現(xiàn)音樂(lè)宛如一劑良藥，能夠觸動(dòng)患者內(nèi)心的真實(shí)情感，幫助他們敞開(kāi)心扉，治療復(fù)雜的精神問(wèn)題。

While studying Chinese at the Confucius Institute， Victor unexpectedly encountered the serene strains of the guqin - a traditional Chinese stringed instrument renowned for its soulful melodies and cultural depth. Its sound not only enchanted him but also led him to further study with therenowned traditional music ensemble

ZiDe Quqin Studio on his seconi to China.During his study， Vict learned about Chinese music therapy，a practice steeped in history and grounded in the ancient philosophy ofthe Five Elementsand thepentatonic scale.This ingeniousmarriage of music andmedicinerevealedto him the potential of music in mental healing. Determined to bridge the two worlds，he began further research on musi therapy， exploringhowits therape cadence could harmonize with and enhance psychiatric treatments.In clinical practice， he found that music acts like a potent elixir， capable of unlocking the patients' hidden emotions and helping them address complex mental problems.

In the third year of hisdoctoral studies，an elective in acupuncture transformed Victor's view of Traditional Chinese Medicine （TCM）. TCMopened tohimanentirelydifferentrealmwithinhealthcare一 one with its own unique “l(fā)anguage system”a logical framework of diagnosis， and a wealth of therapeutic techniques.Eager to unravel the mysteriesof acupuncture，he headed to Shanghai forfurther study.

通過(guò)在上海一年的學(xué)習(xí)，Victor對(duì)針灸有了更為深入的了解，也發(fā)現(xiàn)了中西醫(yī)之間的和諧共生之道。他意識(shí)到，這兩種醫(yī)學(xué)體系并不是對(duì)立的，而是可以相互補(bǔ)充、共同發(fā)展的?；氐桨臀骱螅_(kāi)始在自己工作的巴西精神病醫(yī)院積極倡導(dǎo)并推動(dòng)設(shè)立針灸門診。這不僅彰顯了醫(yī)者的仁愛(ài)之心，更體現(xiàn)了一位異國(guó)學(xué)子對(duì)中國(guó)文化的熱愛(ài)。

A year immersed in Shanghai deepened Victor's understanding of acupuncture and showed him how TCM practicescan coexist with Western medicine，complementing one another rather than standing in opposition.Back

acupuncture into the psychiatric hospital where he

works—a testamentboth to his innovative approach

to medicine and to his deep love for Chinese culture.

Acupuncture as the Key to Healing

在攻讀博士學(xué)位的第三年，Victor選修的針灸課程讓他對(duì)中醫(yī)學(xué)有了全新的認(rèn)識(shí)。他發(fā)現(xiàn)，醫(yī)學(xué)領(lǐng)域中原來(lái)還藏著一個(gè)截然不同的神奇天地，它擁有獨(dú)特的“語(yǔ)言體系”、精妙的診斷邏輯和豐富的治療手段。為了探尋中醫(yī)針灸的奧秘，他踏上了前往中國(guó)上海的求學(xué)之路。
