The Institute of Information Science of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) is an information think tank specializing in information studies on major strategies and social sciences.There are also 3information platforms affliated to our institute: the Silk Road Information Network, the Yangtze River Economic Network, and UNPAN-AP (the United Nations Public Administration Network- The Asia& Pacific Center) as well as one bi-annual forum “Global City Informatization Forum” (hosted since 2012).

Founded in October 1978, this institute was formerly named as“The Institute of Academic Information”, and renamed as the Institute of Information Science in December 1992.Now there are 40faculty members, including 4research fellows and 11associate research fellows.

As Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences was selected as one of the 25national high-end think tanks in 2016, the Institute of Information put its top mission of “building a first class socialist think tank with international reputation” by focusing on studies on major national strategies and optimizing discipline allocation and research team building.The institute is engaged in reshaping its blueprint with studies on critical strategic information as its pillar; database construction as its platform; and various forums and think tank reports as its academic products.

The Institute is composed of 6research Groups (including World Socialist Research Group, Information Security Research Group,Innovation Research Group, City Informatization Research Group,Big Data Research Group and Yangtze River Economic Belt Research Group) and 3research centers( including “the Belt and Road”Information Research Center, Center of Internet Research, and Center for International Socialism).

The Institute publishes a variety of journals and think tank reports includingStudies on Foreign Social Sciences(since 1958),World Socialism Research Trends(since 2008),World Socialism Research Yearbook(since 2012),China Cyberspace Security Blue Book”(since2015),Blue Book of Global Digital Economy Development(since 2017),The Belt and Road Research Report(since 2017),Research on the Yangtze River Economic Belt(since 2017), andInternational Research Trends of Internet(since 2017).

The Institute of Information Science is habilitated to deliver master degrees in Information Science, Scientific Socialism and International Communist Movement, Cyberspace Governance and has doctoral program co-operated with the Institute of Applied Economics and the Institute of Chinese Marxism.

信息研究所是上海社會(huì)科學(xué)院負(fù)責(zé)重大戰(zhàn)略信息和社科學(xué)術(shù)信息匯集、分析的專業(yè)研究所，負(fù)責(zé)承建“絲路信息網(wǎng)”、“長(zhǎng)江經(jīng)濟(jì)網(wǎng)”兩大專業(yè)數(shù)據(jù)庫和“聯(lián)合國(guó)公共行政網(wǎng)”（亞太地區(qū)），承辦兩年一屆的“全球城市信息化論壇”（2012年起承辦）。

信息研究所成立于1978年10月，原名“學(xué)術(shù)情報(bào)研究所”，1992年12月更為現(xiàn)名?，F(xiàn)有在編人員40人，其中研究員4名、副研究員11名。

2016年，在上海社會(huì)科學(xué)院入選25家國(guó)家高端智庫建設(shè)試點(diǎn)單位的背景下，信息研究所緊緊圍繞“建設(shè)國(guó)內(nèi)一流、國(guó)際知名的社會(huì)主義新智庫”這一發(fā)展目標(biāo)，圍繞黨和國(guó)家的重大戰(zhàn)略布局，優(yōu)化學(xué)科配置和隊(duì)伍建設(shè)，努力建設(shè)以重大戰(zhàn)略情報(bào)信息研究為重點(diǎn)，以專業(yè)大數(shù)據(jù)庫建設(shè)為依托，以各類論壇、智庫報(bào)告為發(fā)布載體的新型情報(bào)信息研究體系。

設(shè)有6個(gè)研究室和3個(gè)院屬研究中心。研究室有：世界社會(huì)主義研究室、信息安全研究室、科技創(chuàng)新研究室、城市信息化研究室、大數(shù)據(jù)研究室、長(zhǎng)江經(jīng)濟(jì)帶研究室。院屬研究中心有：“一帶一路”信息研究中心、互聯(lián)網(wǎng)研究中心、國(guó)外社會(huì)主義研究中心。

擁有多種刊物和智庫報(bào)告。包括：《國(guó)外社會(huì)科學(xué)前沿》（1958年創(chuàng)刊）、《世界社會(huì)主義研究動(dòng)態(tài)》（2008年創(chuàng)刊）、《世界社會(huì)主義研究年鑒》（2012年創(chuàng)刊）、《中國(guó)網(wǎng)絡(luò)空間安全藍(lán)皮書》（2015年創(chuàng)刊）、《全球數(shù)字經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展藍(lán)皮書》（2017年創(chuàng)刊）、《一帶一路研究要報(bào)》（2017年創(chuàng)刊）、《長(zhǎng)江經(jīng)濟(jì)帶研究要報(bào)》（2017年創(chuàng)刊）、《國(guó)際互聯(lián)網(wǎng)研究動(dòng)向》（2017年創(chuàng)刊）等。

信息研究所現(xiàn)擁有情報(bào)學(xué)、科學(xué)社會(huì)主義與國(guó)際共產(chǎn)主義運(yùn)動(dòng)史、網(wǎng)絡(luò)空間治理專業(yè)等碩士學(xué)位授予權(quán)，并與本院的應(yīng)用經(jīng)濟(jì)研究所、中國(guó)馬克思主義研究所合作培養(yǎng)產(chǎn)業(yè)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、馬克思主義中國(guó)化等領(lǐng)域的博士生。
