摘 要:創(chuàng)新教育,其核心就是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的創(chuàng)新意識、創(chuàng)新精神、創(chuàng)新能力,在高職院校的日常英語教學(xué)中,以培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的創(chuàng)新意識和創(chuàng)新能力為目標(biāo),從教學(xué)思想到教學(xué)方式上,大膽突破,確立創(chuàng)新型教學(xué)原則,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的創(chuàng)新能力。

Abstract:Innovative education means to cultivate students’ initiative spirit and innovative ability. In the English teaching activities of vocational colleges, teachers should use new teaching thoughts and methods to improve students’ innovative ability.

Innovative ability is a kind of ability to have new thoughts, new theories, new methods and new inventions in people’s activities. Innovative ability is the soul of national progress and the heart of economic competition. In modern society, the competition is the competition of a person’s creativity more than a person’s talent. Therefore, in order to be outstanding, vocational college students must have the innovative ability. As vocational college English teachers, we must know how to cultivate students’ innovative ability through English teaching.
The languages in the world each are developing all the time from their very birth. So is English. People are developing English .As times go by, there are more and more new English words. The spelling, pronunciation and even the grammar are always changing. If students want to master English, they must have the innovative ability.
How to cultivate vocational college students’ English innovative ability?
Firstly, as to the textbook, teachers should find out the books which are innovative. There are many kinds of English books for vocational college students, but the majors and the English level of the students are different. So, English teachers must pay attention to the innovative aspects of each book and choose one that is similar to their schools’ majors and good for the cultivation of their students’ innovation.
Secondly, as to teaching activities, English teachers should create a free easy learning atmosphere to Protect and develop students ' own personality. Rogers said: \"successful education relies on a genuine understanding and trusting relationship between teachers and students, relying on a harmonious classroom atmosphere of security.” So teachers should pay attention to the cultivation of students’ self-esteem. For example, when asking questions in class, teachers can choose different students to answer according to their English level. When giving assignments, requirements should be made according to the students to make sure that every student can finish the work by himself or herself. This is good to give students confidence to go on with study.
Thirdly, as to studying methods, Students’ studying degree generally is not good in vocational colleges, which is mainly because they don’t have good studying methods and habits. Teachers should provide different methods to solve the same question so that students can improve their own methods in learning. As organizers of activities in class, English teachers should encourage students to voice their thoughts that are different from others in order to cultivate their personality in the way of discussion.
Fourthly, as to teaching methods, English teachers should make use of various teaching methods. Multi-media teaching is visual and vivid. It is easy to develop teaching contents and excavate students’ creativity with it. English teachers should put their own creativity into the courseware in order to enlighten students’ innovation.
Last but not the least, teachers can guide the students to organize kinds of English extracurricular activities , such as English corner, English drama and essay, English speech contest, English songs contest and so on. They can also invite their foreign teachers to improve students’ participation.
Students’ English degree generally is not good in vocational colleges. We have neglected the cultivation of students’ innovative thoughts and ability, which makes students think English is boring ,hard to learn and useless.
The teaching aim of vocational colleges is to cultivate students who can meet the needs of work they do and meet the requirements of modern society. In order to cultivate students’ innovative ability, teachers must improve their own teaching skills constantly. Besides, teachers should have more knowledge and better teaching art. In the KBE, the ability to generate and use knowledge to innovate is not only a determinant of wealth, it is also the basis of competitive advantage. In order to make China much stronger, we college teachers should make our own contribution by cultivating more innovative talents.
