2025第十六屆“西安外國(guó)語大學(xué)-《英語世界》杯”翻譯大賽啟事及原文

“《英語世界》杯”翻譯大賽肇始于2010 年，由商務(wù)印書館《英語世界》雜志社主辦。短短數(shù)載，大賽參賽人數(shù)屢創(chuàng)新高，目前已經(jīng)成為國(guó)內(nèi)最有影響力的翻譯賽事之一。為推動(dòng)翻譯學(xué)科進(jìn)一步發(fā)展，促進(jìn)中外文化交流，我們秉承“給力英語學(xué)習(xí)，探尋翻譯之星”的理念，于2025年繼續(xù)舉辦第十六屆“《英語世界》杯”翻譯大賽，誠(chéng)邀廣大翻譯愛好者積極參與，比秀佳譯。

第十六屆“《英語世界》杯”翻譯大賽得到西安外國(guó)語大學(xué)的大力支持，并由該校冠名本屆比賽。2025年的翻譯大賽包含“英譯漢”和“漢譯英”兩個(gè)組別。大賽初評(píng)由合辦院校及《英語世界》編輯部負(fù)責(zé)；復(fù)評(píng)和終評(píng)將延續(xù)歷屆傳統(tǒng)，從全國(guó)各地邀請(qǐng)知名翻譯專家進(jìn)行評(píng)審，以確保大賽評(píng)審的權(quán)威性和公信力。

賽程及評(píng)審

1. 大賽啟事及原文2025年4月通過網(wǎng)絡(luò)媒體發(fā)布，并刊載在《英語世界》2025年第5期雜志上。獲獎(jiǎng)結(jié)果2025年11月通過網(wǎng)絡(luò)媒體發(fā)布，并刊載在《英語世界》2025年第12 期雜志上。網(wǎng)絡(luò)媒體包括《英語世界》網(wǎng)站（yingyushijie.com）、《英語世界》微信公眾平臺(tái)（微信號(hào)：theworldofenglish）、《英語世界》微博（weibo.com/theworldofenglish）、西安外國(guó)語大學(xué)英文學(xué)院網(wǎng)站（ses.xisu.edu.cn）、商務(wù)印書館網(wǎng)站（cp.com.cn）、英文巴士網(wǎng)（en84.com）、創(chuàng)賽云－競(jìng)賽服務(wù)平臺(tái)（www.newunivs.com）等。

2. 參賽投稿截止時(shí)間：2025年7月31日24時(shí)。

3. 大賽各項(xiàng)最新進(jìn)展將通過《英語世界》微信公眾號(hào)實(shí)時(shí)發(fā)布，請(qǐng)予關(guān)注。

參賽要求

1. 參賽者國(guó)籍、年齡、學(xué)歷不限。

2. 參賽譯文須獨(dú)立完成，不接受合作譯稿。

3. 只接受通過報(bào)名網(wǎng)站提交的投稿，稿件格式參看下文“投稿規(guī)范”。

4. 在大賽截稿日之前，請(qǐng)妥善保存參賽譯文，勿在報(bào)刊、網(wǎng)絡(luò)等任何媒體上以任何方式公布，違者取消參賽資格并承擔(dān)相應(yīng)后果。

5. 參賽譯文一經(jīng)發(fā)現(xiàn)抄襲、與其他譯文雷同、采用機(jī)器翻譯或院校集體輔導(dǎo)參賽等，即取消涉事者參賽資格。

6. 參賽者報(bào)名繳費(fèi)即視為其本人同意和自愿遵守本啟事的各項(xiàng)規(guī)定。

獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)及證明

1.為提高聲譽(yù)和水平，維護(hù)獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)含金量，大賽力避濫發(fā)獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)?！坝⒆g漢”和“漢譯英”每組擬分別設(shè)置一等獎(jiǎng)、二等獎(jiǎng)、三等獎(jiǎng)及優(yōu)秀獎(jiǎng)若干名。

2. 一、二、三等獎(jiǎng)?lì)C發(fā)證書、獎(jiǎng)金和獎(jiǎng)品，優(yōu)秀獎(jiǎng)?lì)C發(fā)證書和獎(jiǎng)品。

3. 所有獲獎(jiǎng)?wù)呔@贈(zèng)《英語世界》數(shù)字刊一年會(huì)員權(quán)益，并有機(jī)會(huì)受邀試譯，水平達(dá)標(biāo)者將成為《英語世界》的譯者并有機(jī)會(huì)在雜志上發(fā)表譯文。

4. 積極組織學(xué)生參加翻譯大賽的院校和老師，頒發(fā)“優(yōu)秀組織獎(jiǎng)”證書；獲獎(jiǎng)院校有機(jī)會(huì)成為“《英語世界》翻譯實(shí)踐基地”合作單位。

5.入圍復(fù)審名單的參賽者，可向本社編輯部申請(qǐng)開具“入圍復(fù)審”的書面證明。

報(bào)名及繳費(fèi)

1. 為應(yīng)對(duì)不斷攀升的評(píng)審成本、提高獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)額度、遏制少數(shù)人敷衍投稿的行為，本屆大賽酌情收取少量、不至給參賽者造成較大負(fù)擔(dān)的參賽費(fèi)，以保障大賽良性開展。懇請(qǐng)參賽者諒解為盼。

2. 單獨(dú)參加“英譯漢”或“漢譯英”其中一項(xiàng)比賽繳納參賽費(fèi)人民幣50元，兩項(xiàng)均參加繳納參賽費(fèi)人民幣100元。

3. 報(bào)名繳費(fèi)流程：關(guān)注我刊微信公眾號(hào)（搜索theworldofenglish，或掃描右側(cè)二維碼），點(diǎn)擊菜單欄“大賽報(bào)名”登錄本屆大賽報(bào)名網(wǎng)站，根據(jù)提示填寫報(bào)名信息并繳納參賽費(fèi)。

4. 報(bào)名后沒有成功繳費(fèi)的，所投稿件無法進(jìn)入評(píng)審程序。

5. 因人力所限，繳費(fèi)后無論是否提交參賽譯文，參賽費(fèi)概不退還，繳費(fèi)時(shí)務(wù)請(qǐng)注意。

投稿規(guī)范

1. 大賽報(bào)名網(wǎng)站繳費(fèi)成功后，按網(wǎng)站指示提交參賽譯文。

2. 提交文件中只能包含一版譯文，且不能含有任何個(gè)人信息，否則匿名評(píng)審過程中將被提前淘汰。

3. 網(wǎng)站提交成功后，請(qǐng)務(wù)必再將個(gè)人信息表及參賽譯文于截稿日之前以附件形式發(fā)送至大賽郵箱：yysjfyds@sina.com。（特別提示：參賽資格確認(rèn)及稿件評(píng)審以網(wǎng)站提交譯文為準(zhǔn)，郵箱僅用于參賽者信息及投稿備份。）

4. 郵件主題：參賽者姓名+個(gè)人信息及參賽譯文。

5. 個(gè)人信息表：文件名“參賽者姓名 + 報(bào)名手機(jī)號(hào)末4位 + 個(gè)人信息”，Excel 格式，附件發(fā)送，項(xiàng)目如下：

6. 參賽譯文：文件名“參賽者姓名 + 報(bào)名手機(jī)號(hào)末 4 位 + 英譯漢”或“參賽者姓名 + 報(bào)名手機(jī)號(hào)末 4 位 + 漢譯英”，Word格式，附件發(fā)送；同時(shí)參加兩項(xiàng)比賽，請(qǐng)發(fā)送兩個(gè)Word附件，請(qǐng)勿合并成一個(gè)文件。

7. 參賽譯文格式：宋體（英譯漢）/ Times New Roman（漢譯英），黑色，小四號(hào)，1.5 倍行距，兩端對(duì)齊。譯文每段之前請(qǐng)務(wù)必按原文順序添加編號(hào)【1】【2】【3】……（如原文所示）。

評(píng)審保障制度

為保證大賽評(píng)審的公平、公正和透明，盡量保證評(píng)審結(jié)果的客觀公允，本屆大賽在評(píng)審過程中特別設(shè)立以下制度：

1. 合辦單位回避制度：合辦院校本校參賽稿的初評(píng)概由《英語世界》編輯部負(fù)責(zé)評(píng)審，而不交由合辦院校本校教師評(píng)審。

2. 申訴復(fù)活制度：初評(píng)后的擬定復(fù)審入圍名單通過《英語世界》微信公眾號(hào)發(fā)布后，未能進(jìn)入該名單的參賽者7日內(nèi)有權(quán)提出申訴。提出申訴需另交150元的二次評(píng)審費(fèi)用，申訴稿將邀請(qǐng)三位外部專家獨(dú)立負(fù)責(zé)二次評(píng)審；二次評(píng)審發(fā)現(xiàn)確屬初評(píng)失誤的，將退還二次評(píng)審費(fèi)用，否則費(fèi)用不予退還。大賽會(huì)根據(jù)申訴稿二次評(píng)審結(jié)果重新公布最終的復(fù)審入圍名單。

Many People Fear A.I. They Shouldn’t.

【1】A lot of my humanistic and liberal arts-oriented friends are deeply worried about artificial intelligence， while acknowledging the possible benefits. I’m a humanistic and liberal arts type myself， but I’m optimistic， while acknowledging the dangers.

【2】I’m optimistic， paradoxically， because I don’t think A.I. is going to be as powerful as many of its evangelists think it will be. I think instead of replacing us， A.I. will complement us. In fact， it may make us free to be more human.

【3】Many fears about A.I. are based on an underestimation of the human mind. Some people seem to believe that the mind is like a computer. It’s all just information processing， algorithms all the way down， so of course machines are going to eventually overtake us.

【4】This is an impoverished view of who we humans are. The Canadian scholar Michael Ignatieff expressed a much more accurate view of the human mind last year in the journal Liberties： “What we do is not processing. It is not computation. It is not data analysis. It is a distinctively， incorrigibly human activity that is a complex combination of conscious and unconscious， rational and intuitive， logical and emotional reflection.”

【5】The brain is its own universe. Sometimes I hear tech people saying they are building machines that think like people. Then I report this ambition to neuroscientists and their response is： That would be a neat trick， because we don’t know how people think.

【6】The human mind isn’t just predicting the next word in a sentence; it evolved to love and bond with others; to seek the kind of wisdom that is held in the body; to physically navigate within nature and avoid the dangers therein; to pursue goodness; to marvel at and create beauty; to seek and create meaning.

【7】A.I. can impersonate human thought because it can take all the ideas that human beings have produced and synthesize them into strings of words or collages of images that make sense to us. But that doesn’t mean the A.I. “mind” is like the human mind. The A.I. “mind” lacks consciousness， understanding， biology， self-awareness， emotions， moral sentiments， agency， a unique worldview based on a lifetime of distinct and never to be repeated experiences.

【8】A lot of human knowledge is the kind of knowledge that， say， babies develop. It’s unconscious and instinctual. But A.I. has access only to conscious language. About a year ago， the Ohio State University scholar Angus Fletcher did a podcast during which he reeled off some differences between human thinking and A.I. “thinking.” He argued that A.I. can do correlations， but that it struggles with cause and effect; it thinks in truth or 1hood， but is not a master at narrative; it’s not good at comprehending time.

【9】Like everybody else， I don’t know where this is heading. When air-conditioning was invented， I would not have predicted： “Oh wow. This is going to create modern Phoenix.” But I do believe lots of people are getting overly sloppy in attributing all sorts of human characteristics to the bots. And I do agree with the view that A.I. is an ally and not a rival—a different kind of intelligence， more powerful than us in some ways， but narrower.

【10】It’s already helping people handle odious tasks， like writing bur-eaucratic fund-raising requests and marketing pamphlets or utilitarian emails to people they don’t really care about. It’s probably going to be a fantastic tutor， that will transform education and help humans all around the world learn more. It might make expertise nearly free， so people in underserved communities will have access to medical， legal and other sorts of advice. It will help us all make more informed decisions.

【11】It may be good for us liberal arts grads. Peter Thiel recently told the podcast host Tyler Cowen that he believed A.I. would be worse for math people than it would be for word people， because the technology was getting a lot better at solving math problems than verbal exercises.

【12】It may also make the world more equal. In coding and other realms， studies so far show that A.I. improves the performance of less accomplished people more than it does the more accomplished people. If you are an immigrant trying to write in a new language， A.I. takes your abilities up to average. It will probably make us vastly more productive and wealthier.

【13】But A.I.’s ultimate accomplishment will be to remind us who we are by revealing what it can’t do. It will compel us to double down on all the activities that make us distinctly human： taking care of each other， being a good teammate， reading deeply， exploring daringly， growing spiritually， finding kindred spirits and having a good time.

【14】“I am certain of nothing but of the holiness of the Heart’s affections and the truth of Imagination，” Keats observed. Amid the flux of A.I.， we can still be certain of that.

【1】山川不同，便風(fēng)俗區(qū)別，風(fēng)俗區(qū)別，便戲劇存異；普天之下人不同貌，劇不同腔；京，豫，晉，越，黃梅，二簧，四川高腔，幾十種品類；或問：歷史最悠久者，文武最正經(jīng)者，是非最洶洶者？曰：秦腔也。正如長(zhǎng)處和短處一樣突出便見其風(fēng)格，對(duì)待秦腔，愛者便愛得要死，惡者便惡得要命。外地人——尤其是自夸于長(zhǎng)江流域的纖秀之士——最害怕秦腔的震撼；評(píng)論說得婉轉(zhuǎn)的是：唱得有勁；說得直率的是：大喊大叫。于是，便有柔弱女子，常在戲臺(tái)下以絨堵耳，又或在平日教訓(xùn)某人：你要不怎么怎么樣，今晚讓你去看秦腔！秦腔成了懲罰的代名詞。所以，別的劇種可以各省走動(dòng)，唯秦腔則如秦人一樣，死不離窩；嚴(yán)重的鄉(xiāng)土觀念，也使其離不了窩：可能還在西北幾個(gè)地方變腔走調(diào)的有些市場(chǎng)，卻絕對(duì)沖不出往東南而去的潼關(guān)呢。

【2】但是，幾百年來，秦腔卻沒有被淘汰，被沉淪，這使多少人在大惑而不得其解。其解是有的，就在陜西這塊土地上。如果是一個(gè)南方人，坐車轟轟隆隆往北走，渡過黃河，進(jìn)入西岸，八百里秦川大地，原來竟是：一扶黃褐的平原；遼闊的地平線上，一處一處用木椽夾打成一尺多寬墻的土屋，粗笨而莊重；沖天而起的白楊，苦楝，紫槐，枝干粗壯如桶，葉卻小似銅錢，迎風(fēng)正反翻覆……你立即就會(huì)明白了：這里的地理構(gòu)造竟與秦腔的旋律惟妙惟肖的一統(tǒng)！再去接觸一下秦人吧，活脫脫的一群秦始皇兵馬俑的復(fù)出：高個(gè)，濃眉，眼和眼間隔略遠(yuǎn)，手和腳一樣粗大，上身又稍稍見長(zhǎng)于下身。當(dāng)他們背著沉重的三角形狀的犁鏵，趕著山包一樣團(tuán)塊組合式的秦川公牛，端著腦袋般大小的耀州瓷碗，蹲在立的臥的石磙子碌碡上吃著牛肉泡饃，你不禁又要改變起世界觀了：啊，這是塊多么空曠而實(shí)在的土地，在這塊土地挖爬滾打的人群是多么“二愣”的民眾！那晚霞燒起的黃昏里，落日在地平線上欲去不去的痛苦的妊娠，五里一村，十里一鎮(zhèn)，高音喇叭里傳播的秦腔互相交織，沖撞，這秦腔原來是秦川的天籟，地籟，人籟的共鳴??！于此，你不漸漸感覺到了南方戲劇的秀而無骨嗎？不深深地懂得秦腔為什么形成和存在而占卻時(shí)間，空間的位置嗎？
