“There is never a mountain top unreachable by hands or a road end unreachable by feet.”
When I was 5 years old, sitting by the piano, sobbed and refused to continue the practice, “I have no gift for piano.” My mother whispered, “the weak believe in destiny while the strong struggle to earn their fortune.” Afterwards, the story of a great man was ringing in my ear. The story of F.F.Chopin was once again narrated to me.
Frederic Francois Chopin, one of the most famous pianists and composers in the world, was just an amateur at the beginning of his music career. His works are based on folk songs and dances in Poland, and are influenced by Bach at the same time. On account of the Warsaw Uprising in 1837, Chopins hometown was occupied. Migrant bird as he is, Chopin left his motherland for Paris with thick nostalgia. Chopin remained obscure as an ordinary pianist at first although he had positively extraordinary talent on piano, his dream of being a real and excellent pianist might be shattered. Whereas, Chopin immersed himself in the world of piano and endeavored studiously to upgrade performing skills. Sometimes he locked himself in room composing music for a whole day;sometimes he attended a concert to learn techniques silently. Nobody paid attention to the young piano man. His talent was not recognized at that moment. Without defeating by the lowliness, Chopin continued his effort, accumulating slow progress like a snail climbing mountains. Everyone cannot emphasize the importance of perseverance and staying too much. Shortly after, struggling made fortune start to favor this diligent man, Chopins talent got recognition from Franz Liszt when he worked as a teacher obscurely to earn his living.
At that point, Liszt was the most outstanding pianist of romanticism. Once there was a Liszts concert. Local citizens rushed to buy his concert tickets and poured into the concert hall. The audience was all ears when they caught sight of a rakish figure settled down the seat gently. The smooth melody was like a running river while other movements soared upward as nightingales cry. No sooner had he finished the movement than the audience couldnt help to cheering. Lights came on. Much to the crowds surprise, there was a young stranger standing on the stage with tears in his eyes. Whereupon another great pianist began his golden age.
In the next several decades, Chopin climbed the mountain of music diligently with undiminished zeal and ultimately proved to be the representative of romantic period, began to be known as the Poet of Piano. “Born in Warsaw, the soul belongs to Poland, the talent belongs to the world.” It is still a pertinent appraisal of Chopin today. The name of Chopin has already become a symbol of Poland. When his name is mentioned, people will recall his brilliant talent and the tenacious fighting history of Poland. The word “Chopin” has transcended the limit of piano and music.endprint
As a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, Chopin succeeded after lots of sufferings. It was his efforts that made him win the respect. After his death, Chopins heart was conveyed to Poland. He was always faithful to his motherland with his splendid tweedle. Death comes to all, but great achievements raise a monument which shall endure until the sun goes old. Chopins story of struggling to realize his dream has been inspiring numerous assiduous students and his preserved patriotic enthusiasm have been passing from generation to generation.
“Only after experiencing hell of training, in order to create a paradise out of the power of refining, and only the blood flow through the fingers, in order to pop up this world.” I still remember how shocked I was after hearing the affecting story. Since then, I havent easily given anything up just because of a few difficulties. When I feel fatigued, I know that there are too many people still struggling for themselves to move ahead. Every little bit gravels can build castles which can meet the rainbow in life.
A mans success depends on his talent, but more is the acquired knowledge and nurtures. Well goes an old saying, “Life is but a hard and tortuous journey.” Only when we match our words with actions can we make a difference in whatever we expect to accomplish. There are large quantities of dangers and obstacles on the way of life. Chopins spirit will become a flag leading me to my fortune, for the god always favors those who are well prepared and hardworking.endprint
