能夠受邀為此次即將在上海舉辦的2017國際舞蹈日活動寫一點(diǎn)東西，我感到非常榮幸。

在我從事的藝術(shù)活動中，“跨越界限”一直是我的一個重要的創(chuàng)作動機(jī)。打破障礙、推掉高墻和壁壘，這是我們的使命，尤其是在當(dāng)下，不同種族、人群以及宗教群體之間的藩籬和屏障正在被筑起。

很不幸，我們所處的時代，正在滑入危險的深淵。政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)以及社會的發(fā)展令人擔(dān)憂，不僅如此，就連我們的精神領(lǐng)袖說話的口吻也漸漸帶著敵意、封閉，令人難以忍受。然而，過度政治化并不是我們這個時代需要治愈的，這只是更深層次問題的表象。與當(dāng)下常見的政治上的濫用行為相比，偏狹、無知、民族主義以及貪婪才是真正的問題、真正的病根。

我自己曾經(jīng)也是難民，我是曾經(jīng)的災(zāi)難性政治環(huán)境的受害者。我在1968年8月離開了我的祖國捷克斯洛伐克。1975年我來到荷蘭舞蹈團(tuán)（NDT）擔(dān)任藝術(shù)總監(jiān)時，我確保舞團(tuán)要有來自世界各地、不同大陸、不同種族的舞者，我們的劇目要盡可能的多元化。我確保我們要到世界上愿意接受我們的國家去演出！

我之所以說這些，是因?yàn)槲覉?jiān)信，如果政客們不再對話，那么藝術(shù)家們便應(yīng)該肩負(fù)起這個使命，讓對話繼續(xù)。而音樂家和舞蹈藝術(shù)家們是最幸運(yùn)的，因?yàn)槲覀兊乃囆g(shù)形式不需要翻譯，是心靈與心靈的直接對話！

親愛的朋友們，盡情享受分享帶來的樂趣吧！這會讓你的靈魂獲得自由，也會讓你自己以及整個世界變得更加豐富、有趣和自由。

堅(jiān)持，使想象的世界成真

國際戲劇協(xié)會是全球最大的表演藝術(shù)組織，同時，我們也是一個具有包容性的組織。我們遍布全世界的100家中心以及15個跨文化項(xiàng)目組為所有的表演藝術(shù)家和觀眾服務(wù)?！?017國際舞蹈日慶典之夜”由年輕表演者獻(xiàn)上的兩支舞蹈也展示了國際劇協(xié)在幫助年輕藝術(shù)家成長上表現(xiàn)出的包容性。也正是在這種精神的引領(lǐng)下，我們提出了“我們，一起舞”的主題。

想象力是人類所具有的一項(xiàng)寶貴的品質(zhì)。商業(yè)領(lǐng)袖、政府官員、藝術(shù)家、編舞師、作家……事實(shí)上所有人都具備這一品質(zhì)。如果我們當(dāng)初不曾提出“國際舞蹈日”這一設(shè)想，今天國際舞蹈日就不會存在。如果沒有這樣一種構(gòu)想，全球各地的職業(yè)舞者、舞蹈協(xié)會和舞蹈愛好者就不會在每年的4月29日慶祝這個日子。

我們?yōu)楹握f這樣一種積極的構(gòu)想、這種想象力是至關(guān)重要的？如果你關(guān)注全球時事的話，你會發(fā)現(xiàn)一個不幸的事實(shí)—沖突、戰(zhàn)爭、經(jīng)濟(jì)危機(jī)、爭端等無處不在，我們每天都被壞消息轟炸。我們的世界正走在錯誤的方向上。某種程度上，人們甚至無法設(shè)想一個處于和平之中的、物質(zhì)財富人人共享的世界，我們甚至想象不出幸福的樣子。

我個人始終相信，我們應(yīng)該用內(nèi)心的自由去想象一個更好的世界、一個和平的世界、一個擁有豐富多彩的文化以及舞蹈藝術(shù)的世界。

讓我們設(shè)想一下，當(dāng)文化，包括舞蹈在內(nèi)，存在于這個世界上時，我們的周遭將會變得多么和平，我們的生活將會變得多么多彩。想象一下，當(dāng)國家間廣泛開展對話和貿(mào)易時，我們的世界是什么樣子的。想象一下，當(dāng)舞蹈藝術(shù)和舞蹈教育存在于在座各位的國家中時，這又對你們的后代和未來數(shù)代人意味著什么。想象一下，當(dāng)世界各地的編舞家和舞者可以自由來往時，當(dāng)中國舞者能夠向全世界展示他們的才華，并且其他國家的舞者也能在中國演出他們的寶貴的作品時，這又意味著什么。當(dāng)習(xí)近平主席讓文化進(jìn)入所有百姓生活的理念被貫徹到舞蹈事業(yè)中時，又會有怎樣的變化發(fā)生。最后，讓我們設(shè)想一下，上海躋身世界文化之都，這又對舞蹈意味著什么。在這些設(shè)想中，我們都應(yīng)懷有一顆包容的心，無論是對年輕人、年長者、服刑者，還是生理障礙者。

僅僅憑借本次以“我們，一起舞”為主題的國際舞蹈日舞蹈盛典，我們能帶來的改變是十分有限的。但是我們要記住，堅(jiān)持是使想象成真的關(guān)鍵。

本次盛典的成功舉辦依賴的是多方的支持，是許許多多愿意同我們分享他們的設(shè)想和參與到行動中的人們的支持。在此我謹(jǐn)向復(fù)星集團(tuán)、上海戲劇學(xué)院及其舞蹈學(xué)院、舞蹈研究院、附屬舞蹈學(xué)校、上海國際舞蹈中心及其發(fā)展基金會、中國舞協(xié)、國際劇協(xié)舞蹈委員會的各位負(fù)責(zé)人及其團(tuán)隊(duì)的大力支持以及在場各位來賓表達(dá)衷心的感謝！

共通包容　推動世界和平發(fā)展

“國際舞蹈日”由國際戲劇協(xié)會舞蹈委員會于1982年創(chuàng)立，其目的在于慶祝舞蹈之美，凸顯舞蹈作為一種藝術(shù)形式的包容性、在全世界范圍內(nèi)加深對話、構(gòu)建尊重以及兩性之間理解互信的獨(dú)特作用。在當(dāng)今這樣一個充滿社會變革及不穩(wěn)定的時代，舞蹈的這些作用有著前所未有的重要性。

這便是此次在上海舉辦的2017國際舞蹈日慶典系列活動的重要之處。此次活動打破常規(guī)，呈現(xiàn)了一個持續(xù)三天，包含演出、講座和工作坊的系列節(jié)慶。所有這些活動，都彰顯出舞蹈的能量：將觀眾和藝術(shù)家（包括不同身體條件的舞者和編舞者）齊聚舞臺，呈現(xiàn)一場蘊(yùn)含豐富文化多樣性的舞蹈演出。

“我們，一起舞”這個主題很好地反映了聯(lián)合國教科文組織與國際戲劇協(xié)會長期以來的合作都是秉持這些相同的理念，借助舞蹈藝術(shù)的共通性和包容性，鼓勵人們參與，促進(jìn)人與人之間的理解，從而推動和平的發(fā)展。

國際戲劇協(xié)會由聯(lián)合國教科文組織于1948年在巴黎成立，如今落戶上海。通過舉辦舞蹈日慶典活動，向全人類推廣和分享舞蹈藝術(shù)的人文力量，這是國際戲劇協(xié)會從成立之初以來一直在推崇的理念。崔莎· 布朗，這位今年離開人世的偉大舞蹈藝術(shù)家，也正是用她獨(dú)特的舞蹈藝術(shù)體現(xiàn)著這樣的理念。她的精神與信念將是今年國際舞蹈日活動的核心。

帶著同樣的信念，我衷心祝愿全球的人們能夠享受這次出色的國際舞蹈日活動。

踏上舞蹈與人類心靈探求之旅程

大約5 000年前，地處中國青海省大通縣的古代先民們，在一只燒制的土陶盆上，刻下了他們連臂而舞的形象，直接告訴未來：我們，一起舞！今天，我們相聚在上海國際舞蹈中心，用今晚的美妙舞蹈活動，告訴5 000年后的未來：我們，一起舞！

崔莎· 布朗說：因?yàn)榭释w翔、超脫重力、表達(dá)自己而跳舞。這些話表達(dá)了全世界各國舞蹈家們的共同追求—在舞蹈中獲得自由，達(dá)到身心合一的最高境界。中國古老的《易經(jīng)》上早就說過：立象以盡意。用身體編織出來的舞蹈之象，早已經(jīng)超越了任何種類的語言和日常言語，成為人類直接表達(dá)自己靈魂悸動的最佳橋梁。因此，全世界的人們無須翻譯就從各自的舞蹈中貼近了各自的心靈；也因此，中國的古書早就有言：“詩言志，歌詠言”；“詠歌之不足，不知手之舞之，足之蹈之”。舞蹈，是創(chuàng)造身心美滿和生命自足表達(dá)的最好道路。

當(dāng)今的人類社會，處處是不公平、不理解，沖突、怨恨、矛盾、戰(zhàn)爭、強(qiáng)權(quán)、霸道、貪婪、占有、痛苦、糾結(jié)、孤獨(dú)、恐懼、失望……解決人類共同命運(yùn)的問題，要想很多辦法，其中之一是讓我們一起舞蹈，讓來自世界各地的人們在舞蹈中更多地交流、溝通、對話、理解。讓我們更深入地友好碰觸，尋找和諧的節(jié)奏，踏上舞蹈與和平、舞蹈與友誼、舞蹈與人類最寶貴的心靈探求之旅程。

非常高興今天能在這兒代表上海戲劇學(xué)院（這次舞蹈日的主辦方之一），歡迎大家齊聚復(fù)星藝術(shù)中心。

復(fù)星藝術(shù)中心是一個剛剛落成的、非常重要的、令人向往的地方，因?yàn)閺?fù)星集團(tuán)和我們上海戲劇學(xué)院有一個戰(zhàn)略的合作，所以這次活動復(fù)星集團(tuán)也是主辦方之一，因而我們才有緣在這樣一座美麗的建筑里召開這次會議。我代表學(xué)校對于復(fù)星集團(tuán)的支持表示感謝！

大家知道，聯(lián)合國教科文組織國際劇協(xié)幾年前已經(jīng)落戶上海，或者這樣說，就是落戶到我們上海戲劇學(xué)院。這些年我們和國際劇協(xié)搭建了很多學(xué)術(shù)和藝術(shù)的平臺，這也符合上海戲劇學(xué)院最近這些年制定的平臺型大學(xué)發(fā)展的一個戰(zhàn)略和目標(biāo)。我們看到，國際劇協(xié)和我們學(xué)校的活動越來越密切，這個平臺也越來越大，國際舞蹈日就是這個平臺的非常重要的活動。我們看到，這屆舞蹈日我們邀請了來自世界各地的舞蹈理論家和舞蹈藝術(shù)家，將會在接下來的三天中帶來非常多的精彩的項(xiàng)目，我們相信大家一定能夠獲得很大的收獲。

另外，我也想借這次機(jī)會，向大家介紹一下上海戲劇學(xué)院的發(fā)展情況。上海戲劇學(xué)院建校已經(jīng)70多年，今年正式進(jìn)入“十三五”建設(shè)的第二年。“十三五”期間學(xué)校的整體發(fā)展布局應(yīng)當(dāng)是非常明朗的。大家可能都知道，上海戲劇學(xué)院的主校區(qū)在華山路，是一個老校區(qū)，我們現(xiàn)在定位還是以戲劇板塊為主；我們的上海國際舞蹈中心，也就是我們的舞蹈學(xué)院和附屬舞蹈學(xué)校以及上海兩個舞蹈團(tuán)所在的地方，它將會構(gòu)成我們上海戲劇學(xué)院的舞蹈教育中心。上海戲劇學(xué)院還有一個校區(qū)，它將會成為我們的一個中國傳統(tǒng)的戲曲教育中心。特別值得向大家介紹的是我們在浦東開建的新校區(qū)，這個新校區(qū)是我們和阿里巴巴以及復(fù)星集團(tuán)共同建設(shè)的面向未來的電影學(xué)院。這樣，四個校區(qū)將在“十三五”期間完全建成，而且在浦江兩岸，將構(gòu)成我們學(xué)校和上海這樣一個國際大都市相互輝映的四個重要的節(jié)點(diǎn)。我認(rèn)為，我們學(xué)校既然把舞蹈作為學(xué)校發(fā)展重要的學(xué)科和專業(yè)，國際舞蹈日這樣的平臺對于學(xué)校來說我們是倍加珍惜的，我們也希望來自世界各地的各位舞蹈專家、理論家和藝術(shù)家能夠更多地為我們學(xué)校的舞蹈學(xué)科、專業(yè)建設(shè)提出更多的寶貴意見，也支持我們舞蹈學(xué)科未來的發(fā)展。

建立舞蹈的獨(dú)立品格

我非常高興參加今天的論壇。在此，我代表中國藝術(shù)研究院向論壇的召開表示熱烈的祝賀！在座的各位專家將探討對文化的堅(jiān)守與創(chuàng)新，以及在日趨全球化的當(dāng)下如何發(fā)展舞蹈并深入舞蹈教育等一系列關(guān)注舞蹈發(fā)展未來的重大課題。我們提出這些論題又并非想構(gòu)建什么舞蹈體系或闡明什么原理，而是有感于舞蹈在全球化時代、多樣性變化發(fā)展中的某些現(xiàn)實(shí)存在，從民族化藝術(shù)教育、大眾文化、傳統(tǒng)文化等不同維度和角度，將舞蹈放置于賴以生存的整個生態(tài)環(huán)境中去研究舞蹈自身的獨(dú)立品格。我想這對于舞蹈的生存與發(fā)展，對于舞蹈的創(chuàng)造性轉(zhuǎn)化、創(chuàng)新性發(fā)展，無疑具有十分重要的意義。

同時，這也是我國乃至世界舞蹈學(xué)者、專家應(yīng)有的使命，為此，我們期盼著并預(yù)祝此次論壇取得圓滿的成功和豐碩的成果！

Crossing Borders:Keep the Dialogue Going

I feel very honored to have been asked to write something in view of the International Dance Day that is presented in Shanghai.

The theme of crossing borders between people has always been a great motivation for my activities. It is our task to break barriers, walls, and borders, particularly in this day and age, when new fences and obstacles are being raised between ethnic, social, and religious groups.

Unfortunately, we have arrived at an era, which is dangerously slipping into an abyss. We see political,economic, and social developments that are deeply worrying. But not only that, even the tones with which our spiritual leaders speak are more hostile, intolerant,and inward looking. But the political excesses are not the illnesses which should be cured; they are only the symptoms of much more serious problems. These problems are intolerance, ignorance, nationalism and greed. These are the real illnesses not the political excesses which are so dangerously preached and practiced these days.

I was a refugee myself, and I was a victim of a disastrous political situation. I left my country, Czechoslovakia, in August 1968. When I became the artistic director of the Netherlands Dance Theatre in 1975, I made sure that the dancers I engaged came from all races and all continents and that the repertoire was as diverse as possible. I made sure that we traveled to any country of the world which was ready to receive us!

I say all this, because I firmly believe that ifpoliticians stop talking to each other, it is the duty of the artists to keep the dialogue going. We, the musicians and dancers,are among the luckiest, because our art doesn’t need translation—it speaks directly from heart to heart!

So, dear friends, have a great time sharing your knowledge selflessly with others and it will free your soul and make you and our entire world much more rich, free,and interesting.

Perseverance: Make Imagination Happen

The International Theatre Institute ITI is the world’s largest organization for the performing arts—we are an organization that is inclusive. Our 100 centers all over the world and our 15 cross-cultural project groups are there for all the performing artists and their audiences. With the two performances shown to you by young talents at the Gala Night, we show you that ITI is inclusive in taking care of the young. This spirit led us to imagine the motto“We, Dance Together.”

Imagination is a precious quality for any human being—the business leader, the government executive,the creative artist, the choreographer, the writer, actually any person. Without imagining that there should be an International Dance Day, there would be no such a day. Without this vision, dance prof essionals, dance organizations, and dance lovers all over the world would not celebrate this day every year on April 29th all around the globe.

Why is a positive vision, why is imagination essential?Ifyou are reading the world news, you, unfortunately, are bombarded with bad news—conflicts, wars, economic crisis, disputes, and so on. So, in this world, something is going in a wrong direction. At some positions the persons are not able to imagine a world in peace and economical wealth for everybody, or even happiness.

Personally, I am convinced that we should use our inner freedom to imagine a better world, a world in peace,and a world that is rich in culture and rich in dance.

Just imagine yourselfhow peaceful the world around you can be and just imagine how rich your life can be when culture—including dance—is present. Just imagine how it would look like, ifnations are in dialogue and trading with each other. Just imagine what this means for your children and for future generations ifdance and dance education is present in your country. Just imagine what it would mean ifchoreographers and dancers all over the world could travel: Chinese dancers could show their gems all over the world. Dancers from other nations could show their precious work in China. And imagine what happens when President XI Jin-ping’s intention to bring culture to everybody is applied to dance. And last but not least, imagine that Shanghai is becoming one of the top cultural cities of the world and what it could mean for dance. And in all our imaginations we should be inclusive: the young, the seniors, the prisoners, the physically challenged—just everybody.

With this gala under the guideline “We, Dance Together,” we might only be a water drop on a hot stone.But perseverance is the key element for all imagination so that they finally are happening.

That this evening is happening is only possible to a multitude of support. It is only possible by having persons who share the imagination with us and who are becoming part of the initiative. I would like to express my gratitude to all the leaders and their teams for their dedicated support—Fosun Group, Shanghai Theatre Academy with its Dance College and Dance Research Institute, Shanghai Dance School, Shanghai International Dance Center and its Development Foundation, China Dancers Association,International Dance Committee of ITI, and all the guests from China and from all over the world.

The International Dance Day was created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute in 1982, to celebrate the beauty of dance and its universality as an art form and to highlight dance’s unique ability to deepen dialogue, respect, and mutual understanding between women and men across the world. Today, in times of turbulence and social transformation, this power has never been so vital.

This is the importance of the 2017 celebration of International Dance Day in Shanghai. This celebration breaks new ground, presenting a three-day festival,including performances, lectures, and workshops, all highlighting the power of dance to unite artists and spectators, including differently abled dancers and choreographers in a programme of rich cultural diversity.

The same goals guide the “We, Dance Together”initiative and the longstanding partnership between UNESCO and the International Theatre Institute, to advance universal participation and inclusion in the arts as the basis to deepening mutual understanding and peace.

Founded by UNESCO in 1948 and based today in Shanghai, the International Theatre Institute has always been a leading champion in taking forward these objectives—starting with the celebration of International Dance Day, sharing and promoting the great humanist force of dance. This was a power uniquely expressed by the great artist, Trisha Brown, who sadly passed this year. Her spirit will stand at the heart of this year’s International Dance Day celebration.

In this same spirit, I wish a wonderful International Dance Day to women and men in societies across the world.

About 5,000 years ago, the ancient people in the Datong County of China’s Qinghai Province carved the pattern of people dancing arm in arm on a pottery basin.They were telling the future: we, dance together! Tonight,we gather at Shanghai International Dance Center. Along with the wonderful dance performance, we are telling the people 5,000 years later: we, dance together!

As Trisha Brown has said, she became a dancer because of her desire to fly, to transcend gravity, and to express herself. These words express the common pursuit of dancers around the world: to get freedom in dancing and to reach the highest unity of body and mind through body language. In China’s ancient philosophy masterpiece,I Ching, it says that meaning can be expressed through image. The image of dancing, which is created through the movement of human body, goes beyond all languages and becomes the best bridge for people to directly express their souls. Therefore, people in different parts of the world can get close to each other by dancing without translation. In Chinese ancient books, it says, “Poetry is the expression of earnest thought; singing is the prolonged utterance of that expression.” “Ifthese are not sufficient, we can dance.” Dancing is the best way for happiness and expression of life.

In today’s society, we see unfairness, misunderstanding,conflict, hatred, conflict, war, autocracy, bullying,greed, possession, pain, struggle, loneliness, fear, and disappointment... We have to find different ways to solve the problems facing all humans, and one of them is to let people dance together. When people from different parts of the world enter into more communication, exchanges,dialogue, and understanding through dancing, we can get in touch with each other in a deep and friendly way,look for a harmonious rhythm, and set foot on a journey in pursuit of dance and peace, dance and friendship, and dance and the precious human souls.

It is a great pleasure for me, on behalfof Shanghai Theatre Academy, one of the organizers of this year’s International Dance Day, to welcome everyone here at the Fosun Arts Center.

The Fosun Arts Center is a newly built, very important,and alluring place. Fosun International has a strategic partnership with Shanghai Theatre Academy and is one of the organizers of the International Dance Day.It also provides the opportunity for us to meet in such an amazing building. On behalfof Shanghai Theatre Academy, I would like to express our gratitude to Fosun International for the support!

As you may have known, the International Theatre Institute ITI moved to Shanghai a few years ago, or to be more specific, they moved to Shanghai Theatre Academy. For the past few years, ITI and our Academy have built a series of platforms for academic research and arts, which is consistent with the strategy and goal of Shanghai Theatre Academy to be developed as a platform university. As we can see, the platform is growing bigger as our cooperative relationship is closer. The International Dance Day is of paramount importance among the activities held on this platform. We have invited dance theorists and dance artists all over the world to join us to celebrate this year’s International Dance Day. In the coming three days, they will bring a great many exciting projects, and we believe that everyone will have a rewarding time.

In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about the development of Shanghai Theatre Academy. It has been over 70 years since the establishment of Shanghai Theatre Academy. This year is the second year of the “Thirteenth Five-year Plan.” We have a very clear blueprint for the development of our Academy during the “Thirteenth Five-year Plan.” Our main campus, which is an old campus, is on Huashan Road. The theater related majors are still at the center of our positioning. Shanghai International Dance Center,where our Dance College, the affiliated dance school,and two dance companies are located, will become the dance education center of Shanghai Theatre Academy. We have another campus, which will become an education center for traditional Chinese opera. In particular, I would like to introduce the new campus in Pudong to you—it is the School of Film jointly run by Alibaba, Fosun International, and our Academy. These four campuses will be fully established within the “Thirteenth Fiveyear Plan.” In this way, on both sides of the Huangpu River, our Academy will build four important nodes for Shanghai as an international metropolis. In my opinion,as dance is an important discipline to be developed by our Academy, we really appreciate the platform of the International Dance Day. We hope dance experts,theorists, and artists around the world give us more valuable opinions and advice on discipline and major construction and support the development of the dance discipline at our Academy.

I am very pleased to be invited in today’s Forum Opening. On behalfof the Chinese National Academy of Arts, I would like to extend my warm congratulations to the opening of the forum. The experts here will discuss a series of topics concerning the development and future of dance, such as “how to preserve and innovate our cultural heritage” and “how to develop dance and deepen dance education in an increasingly globalized environment.”These topics are not about constructing a dance system or elaborating a theory. Rather, they are thoughts on the existence of dance in reality in an era of globalization and in the development of diversified changes. Positioning dance in its ecological environment, they study the individuality of dance from different dimensions and angles such as the nationalized art education, mass culture, and traditional culture. I think they are of significance in terms of the being and development of dance as well as the creative transformation and innovative development of dance.

At the same time, they shall be the missions for the dance scholars and experts in our country and all over the world. We wish the Forum a great success with fruitful achievement!
