在課堂上正面引導(dǎo)
對于那些蘊藏德育思想的文章,教師可以采用正面講解的形式,盡量使用通俗易懂的英語,啟發(fā)學(xué)生思考,使之能夠在短時間內(nèi)獲得大量的、系統(tǒng)的思想道德方面的知識,提高他們的道德素質(zhì)。如Unit 4 “Global warming”,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生討論身邊的環(huán)境問題,并學(xué)習(xí)文中提到的全球變暖問題。
T: The earth is becoming warmer. What can we do about global warming? Some people feel that individual can have little effect on such huge environmental problem.
S1: As a famous saying goes: “Together, individual can make a difference.” I think we have the power to improve our environment.
T: Do you have some good idea?
S1: Greenhouse gases are to blame for global warming. We should reduce the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. It means we should lead a low-carbon life.
T: It sounds good! Then who can tell me what is low-carbon life?
S2: To be low-carbon people. Taking public transport or walking to their office, using reusable bags.
S3: Dont use air conditioner or the heating system unless necessary. Dont leave our television and computer on if we are not using them.
S4: Turn off lights when we leave the room.
S5: Do not buy too many clothes. Do not waste anything.
S1: By doing these, people can save money and energy as well as improve the environment.
T: Good idea. Good summary. How about others? Whats your opinion?...
利用名言進行啟迪
英語中有很多思想內(nèi)容豐富的名言警句, 這些名言警句對學(xué)生的成長具有重要的作用。如:No pain, no gain. Where there is a will, there is a way. Well begun is half done.我每周介紹3句名言,要求學(xué)生明白其中道理, 謹(jǐn)記于心,并落實于行,逐步養(yǎng)成正確的思想觀和良好的生活態(tài)度。
發(fā)揮名人效應(yīng)
現(xiàn)行英語教材編排的一些練習(xí)的閱讀材料中, 有不少名人的事例。如Book 1 Unit 5 “Nelson Mandela-a modern hero”,William Tyndale用英語編寫了圣經(jīng),方便說英語的人閱讀;Norman Bethune“二戰(zhàn)”期間在中國當(dāng)戰(zhàn)地醫(yī)生,挽救了許多中國士兵的性命;Sun Yat-sen經(jīng)過多年的奮斗,推翻了帝制,成立了共和國;Nelson Mandela為黑人的解放事業(yè)不懈努力等等。我提問:他們?yōu)槿祟愖龀隽藗ゴ蟮呢暙I,成功靠的是什么?學(xué)生解答這一問題, 既能更好的理解閱讀材料,又增加了愛國成才、進取奉獻的精神。
積極組織課外活動
結(jié)合紀(jì)念日或重要節(jié)日開展活動。如Womens Day, May Day, National Day, Teachers Day, Mothers Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day等等,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生創(chuàng)設(shè)節(jié)日氛圍, 開展英語活動, 不僅有助于鞏固所學(xué)英語知識, 提高英語運用能力,也有利于培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的情操、愛國主義精神、凝心聚力的中國精神。
開展多種形式的英語競賽。根據(jù)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)水平, 開展豐富多彩的英語競賽。我要求學(xué)生依據(jù)所學(xué)知識,通過聽、說、讀、寫等活動,增強英語實踐能力,使學(xué)生的綜合能力在實踐活動中逐步提高。學(xué)生樂于學(xué)習(xí)、善于總結(jié)、不畏艱難、善于進取的優(yōu)秀品質(zhì)也就會在其中逐步養(yǎng)成。
