維特拉空港座椅
福斯特事務(wù)所與維特拉的合作始于1997年,兩者合作設(shè)計(jì)了一系列與等候功能相關(guān)的座椅類(lèi)產(chǎn)品。
其中,“空港座椅”系列的靈感來(lái)源于建筑設(shè)計(jì)師在斯坦斯特機(jī)場(chǎng)和香港赤蠟角機(jī)場(chǎng)的第一手設(shè)計(jì)經(jīng)驗(yàn),它以相對(duì)有限的“部件組合”為使用者提供不同程度的舒適感、尺度、材料和配置以及運(yùn)輸、安裝和使用上的便利性,并可以在針對(duì)不同要求進(jìn)行個(gè)性化的同時(shí),仍然維持較低的單體成本。這個(gè)系統(tǒng)以最為輕薄的擠壓成型鑄鋁為基本部件,椅子的脊柱是一根不需要加工的中心梁,各種部件都可以輕松地被安裝到中心梁上。通過(guò)對(duì)于靠背和座椅部分所使用的膠合板、鋁以及墊襯物進(jìn)行不同的材料選擇,可產(chǎn)生多種多樣的裝配結(jié)果。該座椅同時(shí)還能夠配合使用者從正坐到放松之間多種不同的坐姿進(jìn)行變化。□
拱形桌
拱形桌是福斯特事務(wù)所為米蘭品牌Molteni&C提供的一系列設(shè)計(jì)中的最新產(chǎn)品。它的設(shè)計(jì)靈感來(lái)源于拉伸織物結(jié)構(gòu),其外形則由用于創(chuàng)造流線(xiàn)型建筑的軟件生成。
造型的基礎(chǔ)是3條錨定支腳支撐下的一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的形體,在每一個(gè)支腳部分的每一個(gè)拉伸之間,材料向上彎曲以支撐桌面。桌面采用鋼化玻璃,直徑為140cm或150cm,并且十分輕薄。3塊薄型不銹鋼板通過(guò)紫外線(xiàn)固化與玻璃相連接,由此僅通過(guò)3個(gè)螺絲的固定就使桌子整體得到了安全而穩(wěn)定的效果。這一產(chǎn)品的設(shè)計(jì)和制造經(jīng)過(guò)了若干階段:首先,我們采用數(shù)控切割系統(tǒng)制造出一個(gè)木制的原型。這一模型與最終產(chǎn)品的外形完全一致,并成為兩個(gè)殼狀模具制造的基礎(chǔ)。每一個(gè)殼狀模具構(gòu)件都由置入鋼結(jié)構(gòu)的橡膠制成,將兩個(gè)殼體安裝在一起,就可以從支腳部分灌入加強(qiáng)混凝土?!?/p>
國(guó)泰航空Solus座椅,香港國(guó)際機(jī)場(chǎng)
“座艙”是香港國(guó)際機(jī)場(chǎng)國(guó)泰航空休息室的最新設(shè)計(jì),福斯特事務(wù)所將新的座椅系統(tǒng)與最高品質(zhì)材料結(jié)合起來(lái)。
福斯特事務(wù)所為國(guó)泰航空休息室提供了室內(nèi)設(shè)計(jì)以及包括Solus座椅在內(nèi)的大部分家具設(shè)計(jì)。這些家具均由意大利皮革制造商弗勞公司生產(chǎn)?!白摗鄙陈畹耐鈿膱A形底部升起,創(chuàng)造出了一個(gè)為個(gè)人旅行者提供的私密空間。座椅的軟皮座墊由硬質(zhì)噴漆外殼包裹。這一設(shè)計(jì)使得座椅個(gè)體成為了云狀座椅群中的一部分,同時(shí)為使用者提供了可以進(jìn)食、工作和休息的獨(dú)立空間。座椅特有的曲線(xiàn)是研究旅行者對(duì)于現(xiàn)有家具使用習(xí)慣的結(jié)果。除了提供舒適的座椅之外,它還為使用者提供電源和可以作為非正式辦公桌的圓桌?!酰ɡ瞽[ 譯)
Vitra Airline Seating
The collaboration between Foster + Partners and Vitra began in 1997 as the teams worked together to develop an idea for a flexible new range of seating products related to the issue of waiting.
An example of a product evolving through first-hand experience of architectural design challenges, the Airline seating for Vitra is a flexible product range that relates directly to the practice's work at Stansted and Chek Lap Kok airports. Based on a limited "kit-of-parts", the Airline range offers differing levels of comfort, dimensions, materials and configurations, ease of transportation,installation and servicing and can be tuned to suit individual requirements while still maintaining a very competitive cost per seat. The system is based on extruded and cast aluminium components refined to their minimum thickness and weight.The spine is a central beam-which requires no machining-to which individual components can be simply attached. This allows for a variety of configurations complemented by a choice of materials for both seat and back, including plywood, aluminium and upholstery. The system also offers a range of seating positions from upright and short-sit to a more relaxed arrangement for longer usage.□

Arc Table
The Arc table is the latest addition to a range of products designed by Foster + Partners for Molteni C, Milan. Drawing inspiration from tensile fabric structures, its form is generated by software developed to create flowing architectural designs.
The sculptural base is a single sweeping form anchored by three legs-between each extension,the material curves upwards to balance the table top. The top is a tempered glass disc, measuring either 140 or 150 centimetres in diameter, and is available in an extra light finish. Three thin stainless steel plates are UV bonded to the glass and allow the base to be safely and discreetly secured using just three small screws. There are several stages in the technical development and production process:firstly, a 1:1 wooden prototype is created on a CNC machine. This model is finished in exactly the same way as a final production piece, as it forms the basis of the two shells that make up the mould. Each shell is fabricated in rubber and slotted into a steel frame. Once the two shells are locked together, the reinforced concrete is poured in through the leg section.□

Cathay Solus Chair, Hong Kong International Airport
The Cabin is the latest addition to the Cathay Pacific lounge collection at Hong Kong International Airport and combines the highest quality materials with a new seating system designed by Foster +Partners.
Foster + Partners has designed the interiors, as well as most of the furniture, including the Cathay Solus Chair, manufactured in Italy by Poltrona Frau.Its hourglass form rises from a circular base to create a private space for individual travellers. The chair's soft leather upholstery is enclosed by a solid,lacquered shell. Designed to function as part of a cloud-like cluster of chairs, as well as providing a secluded space to eat, work or relax, its distinctive curved form was the result of studies into the different ways guests adapted the existing lounge furniture. As well as a wide, comfortable seat, the chair integrates a power supply and a table, which can be used as an informal desk.□
