Abstract:Innovation, both at past and in the future, is always an everlasting topic in the world, and there is no exception in the educational field. Knowledge economy is featured in the 21st century, while the key of which is the continuous innovation of knowledge. Thus such new talents, with innovation mind and ability, are badly needed.

Ⅰ、Introduction
The key to higher education is cultivation of innovation ability, however, our present education, especially college English is a difficult task, which needs a long time to transfer from the traditional teaching to the new innovating teaching mode. Therefore, college English must be deeply reformed earlier.
Ⅱ、The background of College English Teaching Mode
Generally speaking, many problems exist in the educational field. As for college English, first, teaching and studying mode lacks diversification, most of students just accept knowledge in a passive way, and very few of students gain knowledge through their activity and experience. Lecturers pay more attention to knowledge inculcation and pay little attention to ability training. What’s worse, examination—oriented education generally exists, as a result, the students just study for exams and teachers just teach for exams.
The phenomena above are mainly affected by some malpractices in the current examination system. In recent years, all kinds of standard tests emerge in large numbers in our country, such as English level tests, which largely encourage the students to learn knowledge by rote. In the long term, the autonomy and creativity of students are depressed. So the more knowledge a student gets, the more narrow his angle of view and the more limited his imagination will be.
Ⅲ、Corresponding Countermeasures for Realization of Innovating College English Teaching Mode
Firstly, update philosophy of education and advocate autonomous learning. At current information era, the rapid renewal of knowledge is much faster than we think, the traditional teaching mode cannot meet our needs any more, only by long—life studying can we adapt ourselves to the rapidly—developing society. Information era supplies the advantageous conditions for the autonomous learners, at the same time, it also make people improve their autonomous learning ability.
Secondly, optimize the teaching method and set up communicative interaction classroom teaching. Advocating autonomous learning doesn’t mean failing to control the classroom teaching, on the contrary, the classroom should be an important place for teacher and students to communicate effectively. The teacher’s task in teaching is to perfect self—construction mechanism. However, affected by traditional grammar translation teaching method, it’s much too focused on how to teach language knowledge and neglected how to cultivate students’ language creativity. To optimize the teaching method is to set up a kind of interactive teaching mode, taking teachers as the leading factors.
Meanwhile, the teachers should encourage students to use English as often as they can, in order to cultivate their ability to think independently and divergently, converse and integrate knowledge. And the teachers also should improve their psychological quality such as self—confidence, the courage to create and not being afraid of failure.
Innovation needs us to explore and try constantly. In college English teaching progress, the teacher should encourage the students to make sentences with the words learnt before, express themselves, discuss each other. In this way, the students’ innovation can be improved greatly.
Ⅳ、Conclusion
The focus of English teaching should be changed from result to progress and from how to teach to how to learn. The students shouldn’t be considered as the containers of knowledge but the constructors and generators of knowledge. In the process of English teaching, the teachers should pay more attention to cultivation of the students’ creativity mind and spirit, making the value and role play of college English realized.
