和顏色有關(guān)的一些英語(yǔ)表達(dá)

摘要：針對(duì)中西文化的差異，對(duì)顏色一類詞在英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)境下的意思進(jìn)行了探討。

關(guān)鍵詞：顏色；藍(lán)色；白色；黑色；綠色

英語(yǔ)中有不少與顏色有關(guān)的表達(dá)，有些是大家比較熟悉的，有些是大家比較陌生的，需要進(jìn)行深入的探討。

一、blue （藍(lán)色）

blues 布魯斯樂曲（亦稱藍(lán)調(diào)，是國(guó)外一種憂傷的音樂種類），由此引申出feel blue（感到憂傷、低落）。

eg.I am feeling blue today.我今天有點(diǎn)失落。

blue blood 貴族血統(tǒng)、出身高貴

eg.He is blue-blooded.他出身高貴。

blue film黃色電影（英式口語(yǔ)）

out of the blue 始料不及

a bolt from the blue 晴天霹靂

drink till all is blue 喝得酩酊大醉

eg. He drinks till all is blue almost every night， my God.他幾乎每晚都喝到酩酊大醉，我的天啊！

二、green （綠色）

a green hand生手

eg. He is a green hand in painting. 他是個(gè)油畫新手。

a green old age 老當(dāng)益壯

to give sb the green light 縱容

in the green在青春期

eg. Children in the green are sometimes a little rebellious.處于青春期的孩子有時(shí)有點(diǎn)叛逆。

三、white （白色）

white coffee 牛奶咖啡

white man 善良、有教養(yǎng)的人

a white night不眠之夜

eg. It was a white night for many people in this town last night.對(duì)這個(gè)鎮(zhèn)的很多人而言，昨晚是個(gè)不眠之夜。

white elephant 大而無用的東西

to show the white feather 顯示懦弱

to see the white 見世面、長(zhǎng)事故

eg. It is good for a child to see the white more. 多見些世面對(duì)一個(gè)小孩子是好的。

to bleed white被榨盡血汗

sb white 吸干某人的血

四、grey （灰色）

stay in the grey 恪守中立

the grey of the dawn（morning） 黎明時(shí)分

五、brown （棕色）

to do sb brown 使某人上當(dāng)

eg. Satan was to do brown by Jack while climbing the tree. 撒旦在爬樹時(shí)上了杰克的當(dāng)。

to do it up brown 把…徹底搞好

六、black （黑色）

black sheep 敗家子、害群之馬

black tea 紅茶

black Friday 黑色的星期五（感恩節(jié)的第二天，因耶穌在這一天被害）

blackmail 敲詐勒索

black-hearted

eg. The witch in the fairy tale is always black-hearted.童話故事中的巫婆總是壞心腸的。

blacksmith 鐵匠

eg. We seldom see a blacksmith nowadays.現(xiàn)在我們很少看到鐵匠了。

black in the face 臉色鐵青

to look black at someone 怒目而視

七、yellow （黃色）

sb is yellow： sb is coward. 膽小怕事
