China’s achievements in poverty reduction has made a great contribution to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. In terms of poverty eradication, China’s success in poverty reduction accounts for a large part of the global poverty reduction effort. Many countries are learning from China, whose experience and achievements are worthy of the world’s learning.

China’s “targeted poverty alleviation” has been a great success. The state does not adopt general intervention measures, but takes into full account the specific local conditions. Some places need irrigation water, some places need schools, and others need medical facilities. This kind of local condition-based measures is the key to the success of poverty alleviation in China.

Developing countries can learn a lot from China’s poverty alleviation policies.The Chinese government made commitments to its people and implemented right policies within the prescribed period and framework. It was those policies that played an effective role in solving the problem of poverty. Pakistan can learn from China to provide better living conditions for the Pakistani people living below the poverty line.
