Why don't you help your

mother with the housework？

為什么不幫媽媽做些家務(wù)活呢？

這是一個否定的特殊疑問句，這個句子也可用“Why not + 動詞原形”來表達(dá)同樣的意思。

—Daddy， I don't know what to do for the holiday？ 爸爸，我不知道假期該做些什么？

—Why don't you ?help your mother with the housework？ 為什么不幫媽媽做些家務(wù)活呢？

注意：同樣也可以表示建議的How about... 和What about... 中的 about是介詞，所以當(dāng)后面接動詞時，就要將動詞變成動名詞。

例句：

Why don't you buy a scarf？ ?為什么不買一條圍巾呢？

Why not join us？ 為什么不加入我們呢？

How about playing tennis？ 打網(wǎng)球怎么樣？

How about going to the cinema？ 去看電影怎么樣？

注意：與What's up？用法和意義類似的還有：
