The Zhejiang International Trade (South Africa) Exhibition hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and the Guangdong (South Africa) Commodity Exhibition hosted by the Guangdong Department of Commerce were also opened concurrently.

      Xu Yingxin said in his speech that in recent years, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and South Africa has maintained a strong momentum of development, bringing tangible benefits to the industrial circles of the two countries.       Olaf Schmidt said that Messe Frankfurt has cooperated with the Textile Trade Promotion Association for more than 20 years and has achieved many outstanding results. The rich experience of both parties will further ensure the high level of professionalism and internationality of the exhibition.

      A total of 150 Chinese exhibitors participated in the exhibition, 40% of them were from clothing companies, 28% from fabrics, 24% from shoes and hats, and 8% from home textiles. The number of professional visitors in this exhibition has steadily increased. In addition to local buyers from South Africa, visitors from Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Burundi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania and other countries were also present, and many apparel purchasers from North America and Asia also used this exhibition as an important procurement platform. Trade talks at the exhibition site could be seen everywhere. In addition, the 2019 South Africa Exhibition Trade Matchmaking Conference will provide a platform for all exhibitors to exchange and negotiate with trade buyers. Trade matchmakings were pragmatic and efficient, and helped exhibitors better connect with international customers while improving the effectiveness of the exhibition.

      The three-day South African exhibition held a total of 13 forums. The audience could learn about the import and export of African textiles under the AGOA Act, the status of the South African fashion industry, the development of the South African cotton industry, and the 2020 spring and summer mens and womens wear fashion trends. They could also attend the“South African Young Fashion Designer Competition”.

      Another highlight of the show was the fashion brand launch events held concurrently. The show was released in 15 categories, including fabrics, leather, denim, and accessories. The final entries of the South African Young Fashion Designer Competition were also released on the spot.
