一、案例背景:
本文為八年級(jí)英語最后一單元的課文,結(jié)合近期開展的“保護(hù)環(huán)境,人人有責(zé)”的環(huán)境綠化主題教育,我設(shè)計(jì)了一系列相關(guān)教學(xué)活動(dòng),經(jīng)過環(huán)境綠化教育活動(dòng)的開展,學(xué)生已經(jīng)對(duì)國內(nèi)的不良環(huán)境及對(duì)人類的有害影響有了初步的了解。
二、案例主題:
Green Switzerland 是一篇介紹新西蘭優(yōu)美環(huán)境的文章,結(jié)合近期的環(huán)境保護(hù)教育及南京近幾年的反常天氣現(xiàn)象,事先設(shè)計(jì)好相關(guān)的學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)及問題,積極鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生發(fā)表意見,暢談感受。
三、案例過程:
向?qū)W生提出問題:What are the measures for Switzer to protect their environment? What do you think we should do to improve our environment?
通過列舉新西蘭人民保護(hù)環(huán)境的措施,可以幫助學(xué)生更好的理解和掌握文章內(nèi)容。同時(shí),在提問如何保護(hù)我們環(huán)境的措施時(shí),學(xué)生會(huì)動(dòng)腦筋,積極參與到如何保護(hù)環(huán)境的討論中去。
T: What will Switzer do with their old clothes?
Ss: to give poor people, sold in charity shops, sent to factories for recycling.
T: Yes, great. How about the resources? Do they take the resources as much as they want?
Ss: No, they have many laws to protect the environment; they have laws to protect the air and the water;
T: yes, they have many laws to protect the environment, can you say in detail about how they protect the environment in daily.
Ss: they dont cut down trees;If they drop litter in public, the police will ask them for money; use sun energy, wind energy, water energy.
T: great, do you know what will happen if all the trees be cut down?
(逐漸引導(dǎo)學(xué)生意識(shí)到破壞環(huán)境所引起惡性后果,向?qū)W生展示各種自然災(zāi)害,如泥石流、土地沙漠化等等。)
T: what are your feelings after see these terrible pictures? And what are your ideas about how to protect our environment?
Ss:The disaster is very terrible, it kill many people. We need to protect the environment as soon as possible. Protect the trees, to plant more trees in hill.
T: There is a paper factory in my hometown. It pours waste water into the river every day. The people in the town drink the water of this river every day. They have advised the leader to stop pouring waste water into the river many times, but the leader never accepts it. Can you write a letter about it to the Green China?
(學(xué)生們異口同聲地回答“Yes”。由于寫作太浪費(fèi)課堂時(shí)間,這封信就作為學(xué)生在課下的家庭作業(yè)。)
T: Now, in China, the most serious pollution in North China, especially in Beijing, is the air pollution, can you tell me what caused the air pollution?
Ss: The smoke of factories, the heavy traffic, less trees….
T: can you think out a way to solve this problem?
Ss: we can plant more trees on the road sides. We can ask parents to ride the bike to work.…
T: Through learning this lesson, we realized that, compare with Switzer, we have many places to improve to protect our environment, to make China, our city more beautiful. Have you ever made any pollution?
S1: I often dont pick up rubbish in public places.
S2: I sometimes spit in public places.

T: Will you spit in public now?
Ss: No.
T: Will you throw rubbish in public now?
Ss: No.

Ss:We need do our best to protect the environment, to make Green China.
四、案例反思:
1.學(xué)習(xí)生活化的英語,把文章的內(nèi)容和日常生活聯(lián)系起來,讓枯燥的知識(shí)活起來。在提問到“你知道有哪些因素可以污染空氣嗎?”“我們應(yīng)該怎么做”時(shí),學(xué)生的參與積極性非常高漲。
2.教師讓學(xué)生在回顧完課本后,討論如何解決中國現(xiàn)在最棘手的空氣污染問題,巧妙的運(yùn)用了合作學(xué)習(xí)法,極大地激發(fā)了學(xué)生主人翁意識(shí)。
3.老師趁機(jī)詢問,讓學(xué)生回憶一下有沒有做過有損環(huán)境的事情。在當(dāng)時(shí)和諧、民主、愉快的課堂氣氛中,學(xué)生們毫無顧忌,紛紛說出了自己以前的不文明習(xí)慣。還認(rèn)真的表示以后不會(huì)再干類似的事情。自然恰當(dāng)?shù)牡掠逃?,一箭雙雕[1]。
然而,本堂課的設(shè)計(jì)還有一些不足。如在本節(jié)課中,學(xué)生的自我反省,自我批評(píng)是課堂活動(dòng)的新高潮,當(dāng)時(shí),教師應(yīng)該利用學(xué)生這種熱情,讓學(xué)生利用自己的業(yè)余時(shí)間,用英語去簡單的采訪一下同年級(jí)別班的同學(xué),讓他們回憶自己以往破壞環(huán)境的不文明行為。然后再根據(jù)采訪結(jié)果,用英文向全校發(fā)表一個(gè)“保護(hù)環(huán)境的”的倡議書。這樣不僅學(xué)生的英語思維能得到鍛煉,也會(huì)使保護(hù)環(huán)境的意識(shí)深入人心。
