難熬的“微波爐時(shí)間”
你有沒(méi)有覺(jué)得在微波爐里熱東西時(shí)時(shí)間過(guò)得特別慢?明明選擇了30秒,可怎么要等那么久呢?Well, you are not alone. 這個(gè)問(wèn)題全世界的人都遇到過(guò)。所以,才會(huì)有人發(fā)明了一個(gè)新詞microwave minute。
Microwave minute describes the situation when time slows down while waiting for your food to heat in the microwave. Known side effects are increased hunger, slowing of all the clocks in your house and walking around aimlessly trying to kill time.
微波爐時(shí)間(microwave minute)指食物在微波爐中加熱時(shí),感覺(jué)等待的時(shí)間過(guò)得很慢的狀態(tài)。微波爐時(shí)間帶來(lái)的比較明顯的副作用有:饑餓感增強(qiáng)、家里所有的時(shí)鐘都變慢,以及漫無(wú)目的地走來(lái)走去消磨時(shí)間。
The microwave minute has the ability to slow time, turning one minute into what feels like an hour.
微波爐時(shí)間能夠讓時(shí)間慢下來(lái),感覺(jué)能把一分鐘變得好像一小時(shí)那么長(zhǎng)。

How do you make a really good portion of fried fish
炸魚(yú)和薯?xiàng)l(fish and chips)是一道英國(guó)國(guó)菜,英國(guó)人對(duì)fish and chips 真是情有獨(dú)鐘,全英國(guó)有一萬(wàn)零五百多家魚(yú)條店,每年要吃掉三億份炸魚(yú)和薯?xiàng)l。在烹制炸魚(yú)和薯?xiàng)l時(shí),最關(guān)鍵的是面糊(the batter)的制作。
Wed use plain flour, a little bit of yeast. And then we use salt, and sugar —— we keep that separate to the yeast. Bit of cider vinegar, vodka and tonic water in a batter. Thats vodka going in there, and this is tonic water, when its mixed up. So youve got the sugar in there. And you need it somewhere warm that nicely froths it up and then weve got in here, leave that for about 45 minutes, and we end up with our batter. Smell that, it smells like bread.
