Self-immolation Will Not Changethe Dalai Lama Clique’s Destiny of Failure

On December 9, 2012, Xinhua News Agency published the report “Sichuan Police Crack the Case of Serially Inciting、Abetting and Coercing Individuals to Immolate Themselves”. The report used irrefutable facts to expose the brutal shamelessness of the criminal suspects and show that the Dalai Lama clique organized、plotted and provided backstage support for their criminal activities. It is certain that such cases will continue to be revealed in the future. Let us here look at how the Dalai Lama clique incites and dupes ignorant victims to immolate themselves and see what its political motives are.

The Dalai Lama clique is the source of all these self-immolation incidents

For more than a year, the Fourteenth Dalai Lama has tried to hoodwink the world by claiming to “retire from politics” , but in reality he has launched a new phase of his quest for “Tibet independence”. However,aside from receiving the plaudits of some Western supporters, this stratagem sunk him in the morass of losing any chance for “negotiations”、making trouble with nothing to show for it and intensifying internal conflict, so the Dalai Lama placed his hopes for pressuring the Chinese government on inciting selfimmolation incidents within China’s borders.

On October 19, 2011, the Dalai Lama personally“presided” at “a prayer service” for those who had immolated themselves and led his followers in a oneday fast to express admiration and support for them.The head of the puppet government stood by his side and gave a speech in which he praised the “courage”and “fearlessness” of those who immolated themselves.In an interview with the BBC on November 26 last year, the Dalai Lama praised “the extreme courage of those who immolated themselves”, but added “It is a question whether their sacrifice had any effect”.Clearly, in the Dalai Lama’s view the question concerning self-immolation is not whether it is cruel and inhuman and should be stopped immediately, but how it can have an “effect”. In recent years, the Dalai Lama has repeatedly resorted to sophistry in response to any public criticism of him for conniving at selfimmolation by saying, “If I say that self-immolation is wrong, that would be a great offense to those who immolated themselves、their families and those they left behind”. “I don’t want to create the impression that self-immolation is wrong, so the best thing to do is to remain neutral.” In September 2012 the Dalai Lama clique held an “extraordinary general meeting”at which the head of the puppet government expressed“sympathy”、 “backing” and “complete support”. “The meeting” passed a resolution applauding the actions of those who immolated themselves and declared “selfimmolation is the highest form of non-violent action”and tried to guide more people into the flames. The Dalai Lama “fully endorsed” this resolution.

A press release by the Dalai Lama clique on October 23, 2012, in an interview in New York the Dalai Lama intensified his tone, stating “I am entirely certain that those who immolated themselves sacrificed their lives out of the highest motives, for the wellbeing of Buddhism and the people. From the perspective of Buddhism, this is a positive thing”. The head of the puppet government immediately chimed in, “It is the sacred duty of the exile community to express their support for those who immolated themselves”. “The Tibetan Youth Congress” of the Dalai Lama clique declared, “In our view, self-immolation is the most effective form of non-violent protest”.

From the beginning, this extremely antihumanitarian form of criminal activity of the Dalai Lama clique received strong condemnation and unwavering opposition from the broad masses and the religious community in Tibet and gave rise to extensive questioning of the Dalai Lama by the international community. Many people angrily noted: If selfimmolation is such a beautiful act, why don’t the Dalai Lama and the heads of “the government-inexile” and “the Tibetan Youth Congress” immolate themselves? The Dalai Lama clique has already lost its ability to reason and is traveling ever farther down the road of madness. It thinks it can use this kind of extreme action to get the international community to put more pressure on the Chinese government in order to achieve the political goals it has been unable to achieve over the past several decades. As a result we see two totally different, totally contrasting situations.One is the Dalai Lama clique uses its stalwart domestic separatist supporters to incite religious fanatics and vulnerable groups to immolate themselves, thus intentionally murdering them and doing all they can to exacerbate the situation. On the other hand the Chinese local governments in Tibetan areas do all they can to prevent such incidents from occurring, and when they occur immediately take emergency measures to save lives, and deal with the aftermath in accordance with the law. At the same time, the heads of the Tibetan Buddhist sect repeatedly preach correct Buddhist views, oppose self-immolation and advocate cherishing life, and the broad masses of the people firmly support the government in administering government in accordance with the law and actively make a better life for themselves. In Tibet, Tibetan areas of Qinghai、Sichuan、Yunnan and Gansu provinces, and the few areas where self-immolation incidents have occurred,social stability has been steadfastly maintained and people have continued to lead their lives normally.Self-immolation activities have always been confined to a very narrow range of remote areas on provincial borders, and the dream the Dalai Lama clique has of the whole of “Tibet going up in flames” simply has not happened. A Tibetan exile who long devoted himself to the struggle for “Tibetan independence” lamented that not only had these self-immolation incidents not become “a topic in the American presidential race”,but further “the world media has scarcely paid them any attention and published reports on them have ‘the tone of cold objectively’”.

Everyone knows that Buddhism emphasizes cherishing life, and the previous Dalai Lama never once approved any form of action injurious to life,including self-immolation. The Dalai Lama clique uses religion to exercise spiritual control over others and sacrifice the lives of others to achieve their political purpose. This not only completely violates the doctrines and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, but also clearly manifests characteristics of “a cult” that Westerner are very familiar with. Recently, media in Belgium、Austria and other countries have stated, “Self-immolation is a deluded action of religious fanatics” and “It is closely linked to behind-the-scenes manipulation by religious autocrats”. People still remember the case in the United States in which Jim Jones “brainwashed”his followers at “the People’s Temple” and then forced 914 of them to commit mass suicide. This was a monstrous tragedy of enormous proportions. Shoko Asahara, the self-admitted head of the Japanese Aum Shinriko cult, is a close friend of the Dalai Lama, and in 1986 seven female members of his cult were deluded by him into committing mass suicide. The Dalai Lama is now following in the footsteps of Jim Jones and Shoko Asahara. Intelligent people in the international community need to remember these lessons. They absolutely cannot tolerate this kind of organization、this kind of extremism to occur again, and they especially cannot allow any person to support this kind of inhuman behavior in the name of any cause.

The purpose of inciting self-immolation is to achieve “Tibetan independence”

During the more than half a century since the Dalai Lama clique fled abroad after the suppression of the armed rebellion in 1959, it has carried out a series of violent criminal activities such as making armed incursions into Chinese territory、inciting riots in Lhasa and instigating the “March 14” Disturbances. The goal of all these activities has been “Tibetan independence”,and the purpose of manipulating people to immolate themselves and using the bad karma amassed in these “crimes” as capital to “make demands” on the central government has also been to achieve “Tibetan independence”. Since these self-immolation incidents began to occur, the Dalai Lama clique has often issued declarations making the preposterous demand for“central government leaders to resume talks with the Tibetan government-in-exile to solve the Tibetan problem”. The head of the puppet government openly stated that he expected an uprising to occur in China akin to the way the “self-immolation of a street vendor in Tunisia sparked the Arab Spring”. His purpose is twofold: to pressure the central government to accept the puppet government as a partner in talks and to give political recognition to this separatist organization,and to achieve “a high degree of autonomy” through negotiations. “The Tibetan Youth Congress” nakedly declared, “The way to finally end self-immolation is to grant Tibet complete independence”. When the new head of the Tibetan puppet government first took office he openly declared, “‘Tibetan independence’is the principle goal, and ‘Tibetan autonomy’ is the practical goal”. This makes the political purpose of manipulating people to “immolate themselves”perfectly clear. The German newspaper stated that these self-immolations have already completely lost their religious character and become a tool and bargaining chip of the Dalai Lama and the “government-in-exile”for pressuring China to grant political concessions.

However, no political clique, Chinese or foreign,ancient or modern, has ever achieved its political goals by duping a handful of people to immolate themselves.China’s unity and its powerful and ever-rising international position cannot be shaken in the least by the Dalai Lama clique’s committing a number of inhuman acts. However, the Dalai Lama clique has no other tricks up its sleeve, and its only option is to ignore the censure and disdain of the world and continue to murder still more people. A “civil-servant” of the puppet government published a bloody editorial on the“Homeland Network” of the Dalai Lama clique stating,“We will quickly win our freedom if 100,000 Tibetans sacrifice their lives”. “Sacrificing” one generation of Tibetans is not enough for the Dalai Lama clique,and they strive to extend their sin to innocent children.On April 10, 2012, “the Voice of America” reported that schools operated by the Dalai Lama clique had an exhibition of photos of self-immolations and forced students to pay their respects to those who immolated themselves, and lined up the students to greet the funeral processions of those who resided in India, with the result that some of the students asked their teacher“if they would have to do so too”. United Nations Resolution No. 36/55 states, “The education children receive should embody a spirit of understanding、tolerance、friendship for the peoples of all countries、peace、universal love and respect for others’ freedom of religion or belief”, but the education of the Dalai Lama clique is education in “hatred and self-immolation”.All this should be sufficient to strip the Dalai Lama of his posture of “peace” and “nonviolence”.

Foreign forces cannot save the Dalai Lama

Western society clearly understands who are the planners of self-immolations and what their purpose is.A research report of “the American company Strategic Forecasting Inc” published in April 2012 states, The head of the “government-in-exile has changed the tactics of their struggle and shifted separatist activities from Tibet to Tibetan areas in the other four provinces where Tibetans are concentrated in order to exacerbate conflicts between Han and Tibetan people and attract the attention of the international community. Compared to demonstrations, self-immolations are relatively easy to organize; all that is necessary is to dupe a few people.It does not require a large expenditure of resources and pays high dividends, so the Dalai Lama’s faction chose it because it is a low-cost、high impact measure”.After the Dalai Lama adopted “a neutral stance” on self-immolation, media in Germany and Belgium declared, “This stance clearly encourages Tibetans to immolate themselves”, and “Why doesn’t the Dalai Lama stand up and clearly call for the cessation of self-immolations”? Stephen Prothero, a professor of Religious Studies at Boston University wrote an article in which he stated, “It is perfectly clear that the Dalai Lama has the blood of those who immolate themselves on his hands”. However, there are still some Western forces with hidden motives who play along with the Dalai Lama’s deception and continue to maintain that the Dalai Lama upholds “nonviolence”, and they even go so far as to ask the Chinese government to negotiate with the Dalai Lama’s puppet government to solve the “Tibet question”. The United States Department of State’s 2012 Report on Tibet Negotiations brazenly stated, “The principle of nonviolence that the Dalai Lama adheres to is the key to a permanent resolution of this problem”. This attitude of some foreign forces is a form of covert support for the Dalai Lama clique for inciting self-immolation and ruining lives.

Recently conflicts over the Spratly Islands have strained Sino-Japanese relations. The Dalai Lama did not waste the opportunity this situation presented to rush to Japan and play up to members of the Japanese right wing. Deutsche Welle reported that when the Dalai Lama met with Japanese reporters he irresponsibly claimed, “The Chinese mainland carries out extremist anti-Japanese education… Many Chinese still view Japan as a militarist country. As a result, after the Japanese tried to nationalize some of the Senkaku Islands, an anti-Japanese mood spread throughout China”. In addition, the Dalai Lama encouraged members of the Japanese Diet to go to Tibet to investigate “the true situation” concerning self-immolation. The Japanese right wing likewise viewed the Dalai Lama as “a valuable commodity”,and a number of right wingers violated the Japanese government’s promise not to allow the Dalai Lama to engage in political activity and arranged for him to give a speech to the Japanese Diet. They also established“the Alliance of Japanese Diet Members Who Support Tibet”, which declared, “We share the Dalai Lama’s values concerning freedom and democracy”.However, as the media pointed out, “In substance,this is an alliance of Japanese who support ‘Tibetan independence’”. When the Dalai Lama was in Japan,he met with many “wealthy businessmen” who gave him financial support. The media reported that when the Dalai Lama was in Japan he deposited nearly US$200 million and a large quantity of jewelry.

The Dalai Lama clique seemingly forgets that it is always the master who orders his lackeys about to suit his purposes and very rarely does the lackey hijack his master’s interests. Of all the countries the Dalai Lama runs to for support, none of then denies“Tibet is Chinese territory” and recognizes his puppet government. When the Dalai Lama was in Japan,he never did meet with any official of the Japanese government, and the media characterized him as “a political puppet of the Japanese right wing”. Most countries do not permit the Dalai Lama clique to use their soil to incite self-immolation and disrupt society.In March of this year the Dalai Lama clique incited a Tibetan to immolate himself in India. First Post,an Indian news portal, published an article stating“The Tibet question causes India to lose face. These impatient people go farther and farther, and they put New Delhi in an awkward position”. Even the Voice of America, which consistently supports the Dalai Lama,also reported that self-immolations make “the Indian government’s public security work more difficult”.In September, several leaders of “the Tibetan Youth Congress” began “an indefinite hunger” strike in New Delhi. Not only were their tent and protest posters torn down by the police, but they were also thrown in jail.

Of the money donated to the Dalai Lama by external forces, except for what is spent to plan selfimmolations and other evil deeds, the majority of it goes to fattening up the Dalai Lama and the people around him. In 2009, the Dalai Lama took the occasion of “a typhoon” in Taiwan to go there, at which time the media reported that he was wearing a Patek Philippe watch worth 24,000 Euros and Gucci shoes, and one member of his retinue was wearing a Longines watch and another was wearing a Tissot, each of which was worth several thousand Euros. In a little town that had been badly devastated the Dalai Lama and his retinue at a ten-course feast. The Taiwan media marveled,“The Dalai Lama’s luxurious lifestyle leaves us speechless”. The members of the Dalai Lama’s inner circle follow his example. Many of the higher-ups in the Dalai Lama clique and their families have obtained American citizenship in recent years, and the head of the puppet government obtained an American green card in 2007, and then used his position to bring his sister and uncle to the United States to live. It was also revealed that he bought a home in the United States in his sister’s name for $350,000 and then bought it from her for $1. However, by comparison, ordinary Tibetans living abroad have a very difficult life. A delegation of the European Economic and Social Committee visited Dharamasala, after which it reported, Tibetan settlements are economically undeveloped, the school dropout rate is high (around 50% for secondary school),only 9% of college-age Tibetans attend college, the unemployment problem is severe, there is no social security or emergency relief mechanism, farming is done in small plots and relies primarily on rainwater irrigation, public health conditions are bad, and many Tibetans die of tuberculosis、cancer or malaria.The Dalai Lama on the one hand dupes others into immolating themselves and on the other hand lives a life of luxury. Is there anyone in the world more hypocritical and merciless than him?

At the beginning the Dalai Lama clique relied entirely on violence in carrying out its separatist activities; later it shifted to a combination of violent and nonviolent methods, and now it has shifted back to a combination of violence、covert violence and antihumanitarian methods. But no matter what methods it adopt, the Dalai Lama clique cannot change the fact that in the bosom of the motherland, Tibet is developing by leaps and bounds and enjoying long-term stability, and it cannot change the fact that it will certainly fail. The only avenue open to the Dalai Lama is to change course and admit his mistakes to the central government.
