Bone—soup of 2，400 years old

While cleaning up an ancient tomb（墓穴），archaeologists（考古學(xué)家） discovered a bowl of bone—soup believed to be around 2，400 years old.

The discovery took place in the city of Xi？蒺an，capital of Shanxi Province. Scientists believe that it will help to learn the eating habits of the Warring States era（戰(zhàn)國時代）. It？蒺s the first time a soup bowl has been found with liquid（液體） and animal bones still inside.

An expensive book

A copy of James Andubon？蒺s Birds of America sold for more than 7.3 million pounds，making to the world？蒺s most expensive printed book.

Published in four sections between 1827 and 1838，the book contains 1，000 hand—colored illustrations（插圖） of 500 kinds of birds—a task that took the painter about 12 years to complete. It measures 3ft， by 2ft，because Mr Audubon wanted to paint the birds life—size. The book was first printed in black and white and then hand—colored.
