好的翻譯除了要傳達(dá)出原文的意思，更應(yīng)如許淵沖先生所說(shuō)：要?jiǎng)?chuàng)造“美”，要講究“意美、音美和形美”，讓讀者能感受到美，“知之、好之、樂(lè)之”。

這是英國(guó)詩(shī)人薩松的句子。余光中把它翻譯成：心有猛虎，細(xì)嗅薔薇。猛虎之剛，細(xì)嗅之柔，存于一心，這樣的沖突和對(duì)比，誰(shuí)看了不說(shuō)一句：妙??！

Let life be beautiful like summer flowersand death like autumn leaves.

出自泰戈?duì)枴讹w鳥(niǎo)集》。鄭振鐸把它翻譯成：使生如夏花之絢爛，死如秋葉之靜美。這可能是最經(jīng)典的翻譯之一，夏花與秋葉，成為某種永恒的意象，絢爛和靜美，形容出了無(wú)可比擬的盛大和感傷。

The ploughman homeward plods hisweary way，And leaves the world to darknessand to me.

出自英國(guó)詩(shī)人格雷的《墓地哀歌》。錢鍾書將其翻譯成：農(nóng)夫倦步長(zhǎng)道回家，僅余我與暮色平分此世界。譯文里有一種浪漫凄婉的美感，雖是哀歌，但并不沉重，“我與暮色平分此世界”帶著一種瀟灑、率然和豁達(dá)。

這是英國(guó)詩(shī)人蘭德的詩(shī)句。楊絳將其譯為：我和誰(shuí)都不爭(zhēng)/ 和誰(shuí)爭(zhēng)我都不屑/ 我愛(ài)大自然/ 其次是藝術(shù)/ 我雙手烤著生命之火取暖/ 火萎了/我也準(zhǔn)備走了

楊絳曾在散文集《雜憶與雜寫》中引錄過(guò)這首詩(shī)，翻譯得十分妥帖，干凈利索，格調(diào)高遠(yuǎn)。我國(guó)翻譯界泰斗許淵沖自稱“書銷中外百余本，詩(shī)譯英法唯一人”?？催^(guò)下面這些翻譯，便知其所言不虛。
