The Winter Olympics started in 1924 and it is 99 years old now. It is held every four years. There have been 24 Winter Olympics until now. The 25th will be held in Italy in 2026.

Sports項(xiàng)目

All sports in the Winter Olympics are played on snow and ice. There are seven sports： skiing， skating， biathlon， bobsleigh， luge， ice hockey and curling. Each sport includes several events. For example， we have speed skating（速滑） and figure skating（花樣滑冰）.

Mascots吉祥物

People love the mascots of each Winter Olympics. They are not just cute， but represent（代表） the winter sports， the culture of the host city and the sportsmanship（運(yùn)動(dòng)員精神）.

We are the mascots of the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics. We represent the Olympic motto（格言）： Faster， higher， stronger（更快、更高、更強(qiáng)）.

We are the mascots of the Turin（都靈，意大利第三大城市） 2006 Winter Olympics. We represent all the sports in the Winter Olympics.

We are the mascots of the Vancouver（溫哥華） 2010 Winter Olympics. We represent Canadian culture.

We are the mascots of the Sochi（索契） 2014 Winter Olympics. We are the first mascots elected by the whole people in our country in the history of Olympics.
