International Museum Day: Fascinating Culture and Museum Experience Offered by Sichuan and Chongqing Museums
On May 18th, the launching ceremony was held for the events in Sichuan and Chongqing to celebrate the International Museum Day 2022 at the new site of the Yibin Museum, Sichuan Province. Wang Yi, Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group, Deputy Director-General of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Director of Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritages, attended the event. Xing Jun, Member of the CPC Committee and Deputy Director-General of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development delivered a video message.
This event was co-hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritages, Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritages and the Yibin Municipal People’s Government, co-organized by the Yibin Cultural, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau and the Yibin Museum, and supported by the Sichuan Museums Association, Chongqing Museums Association and Sichuan Cultural Heritage Information Center.
At the launching ceremony, development achievements of museums in Sichuan and Chongqing in 2021 were presented; 11 awards were handed out for the Excellent Museum Promotions in Sichuan and Chongqing; the establishment of Sichuan-Chongqing Museums Alliance was announced; the promotion activity themed “100 Museums and 100 Objects – Treasures of Sichuan and Chongqing” was rolled out; “Same Origin for Shared Growth – Special Exhibition of Ba-Shu Bronze Civilization”, “The 2nd Sichuan-Chongqing Museum-Themed Creative Products Exhibition” and the new site of Yibin Museum were launched.
Joining Hands to Tell the Stories of Ba-Shu Culture
Same Origin for Shared Growth – Special Exhibition of Ba-Shu Bronze Civilization follows the chronological order to showcase featured bronze objects in Ba and Shu Kingdoms during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties (around 1600 BC to 256 BC). The Exhibition has three sections: “Mysterious Ancient Shu”, “Treasures of the Kingdom of Ba”, and “The Blossoming of the Bronze Civilization of Ba-Shu”, showing to the visitors how civilizations of Ba and Shu kingdoms were closely connected and mutually promoted. It is worth mentioning that this special exhibition carefully selects and exhibits more than 130 pieces (sets) of objects collected by 20 Sichuan and Chongqing museums, including Sichuan Museum and Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum.
The 2nd Sichuan-Chongqing Museum-Themed Creative Products Exhibition displays more than 4,000 pieces (sets) of creative products from 52 museums in Sichuan and Chongqing, presenting the features and progress of cultural and creative product development of museums in Sichuan and Chongqing. At the Exhibition, one can find innovative elements such as automatic vending vehicles for cultural & creative products, livestreaming e-commerce, and digital cultural & creative products. Visitors are able to buy physical cultural & creative products offline but also the digital ones online.
On May 20th, there were more events like the lecture themed “New Archeological Discoveries of Sanxingdui – Preliminary Exploration of the Sacrificial System in Ancient Shu” and the Sichuan-Chongqing antique appraisal activity to meet the public’s demand for cultural heritage appreciation, enhance the public awareness of the heritage protection, and promote cultural development and prosperity.
On June 11th, Chongqing and Sichuan joined hands again to hold the celebration event for China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day 2022 in Dazu, Chongqing. During the event, Sichuan and Chongqing signed the strategic cooperation agreement for the construction of the Grotto Temple National Heritage Park; the 2022 Chongqing Quality Project for Cultural Heritage Protection was awarded; the Dazu Rock Carvings Digital Exhibition Center was opened; Dazu Rock Carvings 8K dome film and 4K widescreen film were premiered.
168 Activities for Cultural Heritage Awareness Month
According to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, the 13th Cultural Heritage Awareness Month has been launched across cultural facilities and museums in Chongqing from May 18th to June 11th.
Chongqing has successfully held the Cultural Heritage Awareness Month for 12 consecutive editions around the International Museum Day on May 18th and the China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. The theme of this year’s International Museum Day is “The Power of Museums”, and the theme of China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day is “Enriching the Modern Life with Fascinating Heritages”.
During the Cultural Heritage Awareness Month, the cultural facilities and museums will organize 168 activities both online and offline, covering ten categories such as Public Services, Special Exhibitions, Mobile Museums, Museum Study Events, Cultural and Museum Classrooms, Visits to Cultural Heritage Sites, Competitions, Online Services, Intangible Cultural Heritage Displays, and Featured Activities.
Among them, the Public Services include curators’ lectures, volunteer services, free tour guide as well as Wansheng’s and Jiangjin’s free antique appraisal events. The Cultural and Museum Classroom brings together 16 activities such as the cultural salon and a series of expert lectures on topics like the culture of Longgu Slope in Wushan. Visits to Cultural Heritage Sites will invite the public to the cultural heritage sites such as the Heritage Site of Baidicheng and the Xishan Heritage Site in Commemoration of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. In addition, there are 7 competitions and 16 intangible cultural heritage displays.
The Annual Museum Development Report 2021
Moreover, Chongqing released the Annual Museum Development Report 2021 for the first time. In 2021, the total number of museums in the city reached 122, with a total of 290 permanent displays, 455 newly-established temporary exhibitions, 8,468 public education activities and 26.46 million visits. There have been 714,152 pieces (sets) of collections and 1,996 types under 894 categories of newly-developed cultural & creative products with sales reaching RMB27.68 million.
The Report also provides an in-depth overview of many features, including the strong atmosphere for the celebration of the centenary of the founding of the CPC, rich and diverse public education programs, increasing strength in cultural heritage research, distinctive cultural & creative product development momentum, and the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures in cultural facilities and museums. In addition, the Report predicts the future trends of museums in Chongqing, namely, more attention to the reform and development of museums at all levels, accelerated progress of museums in the Metropolitan Area and Two Town Clusters, further enhanced sci-tech innovation capacities, and the booming of the cultural & creative industry.

5月18日,2022年國際博物館日川渝主會場活動啟動儀式在四川省宜賓市博物院新館舉行。四川省文化和旅游廳黨組成員、副廳長、省文物局局長王毅出席現(xiàn)場活動,重慶市文化和旅游發(fā)展委黨委委員、副主任幸軍發(fā)表視頻致辭。
本次活動由四川省文物局、重慶市文物局、宜賓市人民政府聯(lián)合主辦,宜賓市文化廣播電視和旅游局、宜賓市博物院承辦,四川省博物館學(xué)會、重慶市博物館協(xié)會、四川省文物信息中心協(xié)辦。
啟動儀式上,川渝兩地公布了2021年川渝博物館發(fā)展成果;揭曉了川渝兩地博物館精品推介項目11個獎項;宣布成立“川渝博物館聯(lián)盟”;啟動“百館百物—川渝寶藏”主題宣推活動;與會嘉賓共同為“花開并蒂—巴蜀青銅文明特展”“第二屆巴山蜀水—博物館文創(chuàng)展”和宜賓市博物院新館揭幕。
共同講好巴蜀文化故事
“花開并蒂—巴蜀青銅文明特展”以時代為序,以商周時期巴蜀文化富有特色的青銅文明為主題,分為“神秘古蜀”“巴國遺珍”“巴蜀交融”3個單元,展示出巴蜀文化體系緊密相連、相互促進(jìn)的文明氣象。值得一提的是,本次特展遴選展出四川博物院、重慶中國三峽博物館等20家川渝文博單位收藏的130余件(套)精品物件。
“第二屆巴山蜀水博物館文創(chuàng)展”共展出來自川渝52家博物館的4000余件(套)文創(chuàng)展品,充分展示川渝地區(qū)的博物館文化創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)品開發(fā)的特色和成果。“觸夢巴蜀”自動文創(chuàng)售賣列車全新上線、文創(chuàng)直播連線、數(shù)字文創(chuàng)產(chǎn)品配套發(fā)布等創(chuàng)意形式,讓觀眾既能線下買文創(chuàng),也能線上把文創(chuàng)帶回家。
5月20日,還舉行了“三星堆考古新發(fā)現(xiàn)—古蜀祭祀體系的初步探索”專題講座和川渝聯(lián)合公益文物鑒定活動,滿足公眾文物鑒賞需求,提升公眾文物保護(hù)意識,促進(jìn)文化發(fā)展繁榮。
6月11日,重慶和四川再度攜手,在重慶大足聯(lián)合舉辦2022年“6·11文化和自然遺產(chǎn)日”川渝主會場活動,現(xiàn)場簽訂川渝石窟寺國家遺址公園建設(shè)戰(zhàn)略合作協(xié)議,頒發(fā)2022年度“重慶市文物保護(hù)優(yōu)質(zhì)工程”等獎項,啟用大足石刻數(shù)字展示中心、大足石刻8K球幕電影和4K寬銀幕電影首演等活動。
文化遺產(chǎn)宣傳月168項活動
5月18日至6月11日,重慶市文博系統(tǒng)開展第十三屆文化遺產(chǎn)宣傳月活動。
重慶每年以“5·18國際博物館日”和“6·11文化和自然遺產(chǎn)日”為時間節(jié)點(diǎn),已連續(xù)成功舉辦了12屆文化遺產(chǎn)宣傳月活動。今年國際博物館日主題為“博物館的力量”,文化和自然遺產(chǎn)日主題為“連接現(xiàn)代生活,綻放迷人光彩”。
文化遺產(chǎn)宣傳月期間,全市各文博單位結(jié)合實(shí)際,通過現(xiàn)場活動與網(wǎng)絡(luò)宣傳相結(jié)合的方式,開展惠民服務(wù)、專題展覽、流動博物館、博物館研學(xué)、文博課堂、走進(jìn)文化遺址、比賽活動、線上服務(wù)、非遺展示、特色活動共十大板塊168項活動。
其中,惠民服務(wù)有館長講解、志愿者服務(wù)、免費(fèi)講解等,以及萬盛區(qū)博物館和江津區(qū)博物館舉辦的公益鑒定;文博課堂匯集了“白鶴時鳴”文化沙龍、巫山龍骨坡文化系列專家講座等16項活動;“走進(jìn)文化遺址”將邀請廣大群眾走進(jìn)白帝城遺址、西山抗戰(zhàn)遺址群等文化遺產(chǎn)地,開展生動的現(xiàn)場體驗。此外,還有7項比賽、16場非遺展示活動各有特色。
《2021年度重慶市博物館發(fā)展報告》出爐
與此同時,重慶首次正式對社會發(fā)布《2021年度重慶市博物館發(fā)展報告》。該《報告》系統(tǒng)梳理了2021年度全市博物館發(fā)展基本情況。2021年,全市博物館總數(shù)達(dá)到122家,展出的基本陳列共290個,新推出臨時展覽455個,開展社教活動共8468場次,共接待觀眾2646萬人次。全市博物館藏品數(shù)量達(dá)714152件(套),新開發(fā)文創(chuàng)產(chǎn)品894類1996款,銷售收入達(dá)2768萬元。
《報告》還深度概括了多個特點(diǎn),包括慶祝建黨百年活動氛圍濃厚、社會教育內(nèi)容豐富多彩、文物科研實(shí)力不斷增強(qiáng)、文創(chuàng)產(chǎn)品開發(fā)特色鮮明、疫情防控措施落實(shí)到位。同時,《報告》客觀預(yù)測了重慶市博物館未來發(fā)展趨勢,即各級更加重視博物館的改革發(fā)展;“一區(qū)兩群”博物館建設(shè)進(jìn)一步提速;文物科技創(chuàng)新能力進(jìn)一步提升;文化文物創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)得到空前發(fā)展。
