Video Meeting held by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to Celebrate the 90Birthday of Mr. Mitsuru Hanai, Economic Adviser of Chongqing Municipal Government

On May 12, a video meeting to celebrate the 90th birthday of Mr. Mitsuru Hanai, economic adviser of Chongqing Municipal Government, was held in the Foreign Affairs Building by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries. The meeting was attended by Chen Zhihui, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress; Wang Wen, President of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; and Zhou Yi, Vice President of the Association, etc.

Chen Zhihui recalled Mitsuru Hanai’s contribution to major cooperation projects between Chongqing and Japan, and wished him to offer further suggestions for friendly cooperation between the two sides. Birthday wishes were sent to Mitsuru Hanai and his family by Chen Zhihui, on behalf of the old friends in Chongqing.

Wang Wen expressed that this year marks the 50anniversary of the normalization of China-Japanese diplomatic ties, an important milestone in the history of the bilateral relations. Five decades ago, thanks to the wisdom of strategic importance and extraordinary political grit, leaders of the two countries made a critical decision to normalize diplomatic relations and opened a new chapter of peace, friendship and cooperation. Encouraged by our predecessors and generations of friendly exchanges, Chongqing and Japan will enter into a new stage in economic and trade cooperation, cultural and people-to-people exchanges and local government cooperation.

According to Mitsuru Hanai, he has been caring about the China-Japan friendship whenever he is, and closely following up the economic and social development of Chongqing. He wishes to introduce his friends from the Japanese business community to Chongqing and make continued contribution to the business and industry cooperation between the two sides. It is his sincere wishes that stronger exchanges and renewed friendship could be fostered by the generations to come.

5月12日，由重慶市人民對(duì)外友好協(xié)會(huì)主辦的市政府經(jīng)濟(jì)顧問(wèn)華井滿九十壽辰生日祝福視頻會(huì)在外事大樓舉行。重慶市人民代表大會(huì)常務(wù)委員會(huì)原副主任陳之惠，重慶市人民對(duì)外友好協(xié)會(huì)會(huì)長(zhǎng)王雯、副會(huì)長(zhǎng)周毅等出席會(huì)議。

陳之惠回顧了華井滿先生推動(dòng)重慶與日本諸多重大合作項(xiàng)目的往昔故事，希望華井滿先生繼續(xù)為重慶與日本的友好合作建言獻(xiàn)策。他還代表在渝老友，向華井滿先生送上生日祝福，向其家人送上良好祝愿。

王雯表示，今年是中日邦交正常化50周年，是中日關(guān)系發(fā)展史上的重要里程碑。50年前，兩國(guó)老一輩領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人以高超的戰(zhàn)略智慧和非凡的政治勇氣，作出邦交正?；闹卮鬀Q斷，開(kāi)啟了和平友好合作的新篇章。相信在前輩們的精神感召下，在雙方一代代友好人士的努力下，重慶與日本在經(jīng)貿(mào)合作、人文交流、民間交往和地方合作等領(lǐng)域?qū)⑦M(jìn)入新階段。

華井滿先生說(shuō)，雖然身在日本，但他仍然牽掛著中日友好，心系著重慶的經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)發(fā)展，并坦言希望在有生之年，將自己在日本企業(yè)界的朋友介紹給重慶，以這種方式繼續(xù)為重慶與日本的經(jīng)貿(mào)產(chǎn)業(yè)合作發(fā)揮余熱，希望兩地下一代繼續(xù)加強(qiáng)溝通、互通往來(lái)、增進(jìn)友誼，共續(xù)中日友好情誼。

Video Meeting between Chongqing and Seattle to Celebrate the 40Anniversary of the Sister City Relationship

On May 19, Chongqing held a video conference with Seattle to discuss the prospective cooperation in economy and trade, people-to-people exchanges and education and exchanged views on how they will celebrate the 40anniversary of the sister city relationship next year. The meeting was attended by Wang Wen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal Government; Zhou Yi, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal Government; Gael D. Tarleton,Director of the Intergovernmental Relations Office; Stacey Jehlik, International Affairs Director of of Intergovernmental Relations Office; Scott Heinlein,President of the Seattle Chongqing Sister City Association; and Paige Miller,Vice President of the Chinese Horticultural Society in Seattle.

Wang Wen noted that Seattle is the only sister city of Chongqing in the United States. Since the relationship was established in 1983, we have built a strong friendship and conducted various reciprocal exchanges in economy and trade, culture, education, and horticulture. All have yielded impressive achievements. Chongqing stands ready to work with the Seattle government and citizens from all sectors to come up with celebration plans on high-level interactions, economy and trade, people-to-people exchanges, horticulture design and smart city development so as to foster new highlights in mutual exchanges and cooperation.

Tarleton said Seattle government highly appreciates the 40-year sister city relationship with Chongqing. As both cities witnessed and supported each other’s development and progress, we have laid a solid cooperation foundation in economy and trade, education and arts, etc. The Seattle-Chongqing Sister City Association and Seattle Chinese horticulture Society will be committed to promoting friendly exchanges by organizing photography exhibitions, joint art shows and meetings on economic and trade cooperation. Additionally, the Society will mobilize the resources in Chongqing and Seattle to push the further development of the Seattle Chinese Garden, turning it into a window displaying Chinese arts and Chongqing-US cooperation in multiple fields.

重慶與西雅圖“相聚云端”，商議共慶締結(jié)友城關(guān)系40周年

5月19日，重慶市與美國(guó)西雅圖市舉行視頻會(huì)，商議在經(jīng)貿(mào)、人文、教育等領(lǐng)域的合作機(jī)遇，并就兩市明年如何共慶締結(jié)友好城市關(guān)系40周年開(kāi)展探討和交流。市政府外辦主任王雯、副主任周毅，西雅圖市政府間關(guān)系辦公室主任蓋爾·塔里頓、西雅圖市政府間關(guān)系辦公室國(guó)際事務(wù)部主任斯黛西·婕里克、西雅圖—重慶友好協(xié)會(huì)主席韓思克、西雅圖中國(guó)花園協(xié)會(huì)副主席佩吉·米勒等出席。

University Cultural Exchange Conference to Commemorate the 50Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Mexico Diplomatic Relations

On May 16, the University Cultural Exchange Conference to commemorate the 50Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Mexico Diplomatic Relations was successfully held at Sichuan International Studies University(SISU). The conference was co-organized by SISU and the Chongqing Office of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM). Jesús Seade Kuri,Mexico’s ambassador to China; Zhou Yi, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government; Victor Cadena, Vice President of MEXCHAM; and Elí Marín, Vice-President of Mexican Anahuac University attended the Conference.

Dong Hongchuan, President of SISU pointed out in his address that, people-topeople exchange is a key area to further advance China-Mexico relations. Universities of the two side have been granted with the historical mission of carrying forward the friendly tradition of people-to-people exchange. As a well-known foreign language university in China, SISU stands ready to make even greater contributions to the relations between China and Mexico.

Zhou Yi said that despite the changes unseen in a century, the exchanges and cooperation between China and Mexico has never been interrupted. As the only municipality in central and western China directly under the administration of Central Government, Chongqing is well-positioned to elevate our exchanges and cooperation with Mexico in terms of economy, trade, culture, people-to-people exchange, local government exchanges on the basis of sound cooperation foundation. The younger generations are the future of the two sides, and enhanced cultural communication between universities will be significant in uplifting the our education cooperation and friendship.

Jesús Seade Kuri said it’s the prime time of China-Mexico relations. The participation of local governments and universities is indispensable in cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Mexico. He hopes both sides could explore more diversified cooperation and exchanges methods built on the existing cooperation, deepen people-to-people exchange, and connect the two people event closer.

“慶祝中墨建交50周年”中墨高校文化交流會(huì)成功舉行

5月16日，由四川外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)與中國(guó)墨西哥商會(huì)重慶辦公室共同主辦的“慶祝中墨建交50周年”中墨高校文化交流會(huì)成功舉行。墨西哥駐華大使施雅德、重慶市政府外辦副主任周毅、中國(guó)墨西哥商會(huì)副主席卡德納、墨西哥阿納瓦克大學(xué)副校長(zhǎng)埃利·馬林等出席。

四川外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)校長(zhǎng)董洪川書(shū)面致辭表示，人文交流是中墨兩國(guó)關(guān)系深入發(fā)展的重要抓手，中墨高校肩負(fù)著賡續(xù)兩國(guó)人文交流優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)的歷史使命，川外作為全國(guó)知名外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)愿意為中墨關(guān)系未來(lái)發(fā)展作出更大的貢獻(xiàn)。

周毅表示，面對(duì)百年未有之大變局，中墨兩國(guó)交流合作步伐從未停止。重慶作為中西部唯一直轄市，愿意在前期良好合作基礎(chǔ)上，與墨方繼續(xù)推進(jìn)地方政府、經(jīng)貿(mào)合作和人文交流層面的友好交流與合作。青年是中墨兩國(guó)未來(lái)的希望，加強(qiáng)兩國(guó)高校之間的文化交流，對(duì)于推動(dòng)雙方教育合作和強(qiáng)化人民友誼具有重要意義。

施雅德認(rèn)為，當(dāng)前處在中墨關(guān)系發(fā)展的最好節(jié)點(diǎn)，中墨兩國(guó)人文交流的發(fā)展離不開(kāi)兩國(guó)地方政府和高校的參與，希望雙方在原有合作基礎(chǔ)上探索多元化合作交流方式，共同深化人文交流，促進(jìn)民心相通。

China-Netherlands Friendly Art Exchange Event Held in Chongqing

On May 20, a China-Netherlands friendly art donation and exchange event organized by the Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chongqing was held at the TESTBED 2 Arts Center. Huub Buise, Consul-General of the Netherlands in Chongqing; Li Mingquan, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government; Deng Guanghuai,Member of the CPC Standing Committee and Vice District Mayor of Chongqing Yuzhong District, and relevant artists from both countries attended the the event to unveil the Netherlands artwork of painted cows.

In his speech, Huub Buise said that this year marks the 50anniversary of China-Netherlands diplomatic relations. The two countries have made great progress in exchanges and cooperation in science and technology, economy, logistics, sports and culture,etc. The remarkable progress is reflected profoundly in our bilateral relations. More events on the artwork of painted cows will be carried out by Netherlands embassies and consulates in China. It is hoped that Chongqing people will enjoy the artwork of painted cows, and be reminded of the friendly, innovative,constructive and creative Netherlands.

The cow models were made with 3D printings using sustainable and biodegradable material. Artists from China and the Netherlands and visitors from the TESTBED 2 Arts Center painted on the three cow models, which will be sent to Chongqing FAO, the Yuzhong District People’s Government and Eling Park as symbols of cultural exchanges.

The event invited more than 40 people of Chongqing art community to attend its interactive seminar. They exchanged their insights on art, images in the public place and urban innovation. They also shared thoughts with the curator from the Amsterdam Street Art Museum online.

中荷友好藝術(shù)交流活動(dòng)在渝舉行

5月20日，由荷蘭駐重慶總領(lǐng)事館主辦的中荷友好藝術(shù)捐贈(zèng)和藝術(shù)交流活動(dòng)在鵝嶺二廠文創(chuàng)公園舉行。荷蘭駐重慶總領(lǐng)事包適，市政府外辦副主任李明全，渝中區(qū)委常委、副區(qū)長(zhǎng)鄧光懷，以及相關(guān)中荷藝術(shù)家出席此次活動(dòng)，為荷蘭彩繪藝術(shù)牛揭幕。

包適在致辭中表示，今年是中荷建交50周年，兩國(guó)在科技、經(jīng)濟(jì)、物流、體育、文化等領(lǐng)域交流合作進(jìn)步巨大，這些變化也深刻體現(xiàn)在我們的雙邊關(guān)系中。彩繪藝術(shù)牛活動(dòng)將在荷蘭駐中國(guó)使領(lǐng)館陸續(xù)開(kāi)展，希望重慶人民喜歡這些彩繪藝術(shù)牛，看到它們，就能想起友好、創(chuàng)新、有建設(shè)性、有創(chuàng)造性的荷蘭。

此次彩繪牛模型是用3D打印技術(shù)和可持續(xù)生物降解材料制作而成，大小接近活體荷蘭奶牛。中荷藝術(shù)家和鵝嶺二廠文創(chuàng)公園游客共同彩繪三頭牛，并由荷蘭駐重慶總領(lǐng)事館分別贈(zèng)予市政府外辦、渝中區(qū)政府和鵝嶺二廠文創(chuàng)公園，以此作為中荷文化友好交流象征。

本次活動(dòng)還邀請(qǐng)了40名重慶藝術(shù)界人士參與互動(dòng)研討會(huì)，雙方藝術(shù)學(xué)者們圍繞“藝術(shù)、公共圖像和城市創(chuàng)新”話題進(jìn)行了精彩分享，并與阿姆斯特丹街頭藝術(shù)博物館館長(zhǎng)進(jìn)行在線交流。

Presentations on Foreign Affairs Held in Chongqing lnternational Cultural Exchange Center and Chongqing Security Group by Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government

In May, Tang Wen, Inspector at Level I of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, delivered presentations on foreign affairs in Chongqing International Cultural Exchange Center and Chongqing Security Group in succession, with a goal to better leverage foreign affairs resources in international exchanges and cooperation, and to drive Chongqing’s endeavors of building itself into Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China.

The presentation in Chongqing Security Group was titled “Better Serving and Promoting Local Opening-up under the Guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy”. Tang Wen made an in-depth analysis of the complex and difficult international situation, and a vivid demonstration of China’s major-country diplomacy with distinctive features in the new era. Targeted suggestions were made on actively promoting the “going out” development strategy of the Security Group from three dimensions, namely making good use of national resources, local resources, and foreign affairs resources.

The presentation in Chongqing International Cultural Exchange Center focused on “Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy”, “Chongqing’s Foreign Affairs Profile”, “Protocols in Foreign Affairs” and “Deepening International Exchange and Cooperation”. By combining with his practical and sophisticated working experience,profound theories were explained in an easy-to-understand approach, and detailed knowledge was elaborated in a vivid manner. In addition, an in-depth communication was made in many topics including “how to boost Chongqing’s exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries through culture”. Thanks to his presentation,attendees were inspired and gained a deeper understanding on Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy as well as the principle that “every detail in foreign affairs matters”.

為推動(dòng)外事資源服務(wù)國(guó)際交流合作，助力中西部國(guó)際交往中心建設(shè)，5月中旬，市政府外辦一級(jí)巡視員唐文先后前往重慶安保集團(tuán)、國(guó)際文化交流中心作外事專題講座。

在重慶安保集團(tuán)，唐文“以習(xí)近平外交思想為指引，更好服務(wù)推動(dòng)地方開(kāi)放發(fā)展”為題，深入分析了國(guó)際形勢(shì)的嚴(yán)峻性與復(fù)雜性，生動(dòng)展現(xiàn)了新時(shí)代大國(guó)外交的獨(dú)特風(fēng)采，并從用好用活國(guó)家資源、地方資源、外事資源三個(gè)維度，為安保集團(tuán)積極推進(jìn)“走出去”發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略提出針對(duì)性意見(jiàn)。

在重慶國(guó)際文化交流中心，唐文結(jié)合自身工作實(shí)際，緊扣“習(xí)近平外交思想”“重慶外事基本情況”“外事禮賓禮儀”“深化對(duì)外交往合作”等方面內(nèi)容進(jìn)行了深入淺出、詳盡細(xì)致的講解，并就“如何以文化為媒促進(jìn)重慶對(duì)外交往合作”等話題進(jìn)行了深入交流。大家普遍反映深受教育及啟發(fā)，增強(qiáng)了對(duì)習(xí)近平外交思想的理解和“外事無(wú)小事”的感悟。

A Working Meeting between Chongqing Translation and lnterpretation Center and College of Eastern Languages and Cultures of Sichuan lnternational Studies University (SlSU)

On May 7, a delegation led by Luo Wenqing, Dean of the College of Eastern Languages and Cultures of SISU, and Liao Libin, Secretary of the CPC Branch of the College, paid a visit to the Interpretation and Translation Center of Chongqing FAO. In-depth exchanges on talents cultivation, collectively building up teaching forces,and cooperation between the university and local authority were conducted.

Li Luoman, Director of Chongqing Translation and Interpretation Center, introduced the development plan and prospect of the Center. She expressed that, based on the profound and tangible progress made in building the Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China, the two sides witness great chances of cooperation and joint-exploration of talent training and cooperation between the school and local authority.

Luo Wenqing said the College of Eastern Languages and Cultures has opened majors in nine languages including Vietnamese, Burmese, Malay,and other ASEAN languages, which are exclusive in Chongqing with the advantages as “key languages”. Given the Belt and Road Initiative and the Overall Plan for the New Land-Sea Corridor in Western China, the College shoulders the responsibility of serving regional economic and social development, an effort bringing the College further opportunities and development.

The two sides find a solid cooperation foundation as their goals in building a talent pool, undertaking major translation projects, and promoting ASEAN languages development are aligning with each other. With that,relevant joint-work are expected to be carried out as soon as possible.

市外事翻譯中心與川外東方語(yǔ)言文化學(xué)院舉行工作座談

5月7日，四川外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)東方語(yǔ)言文化學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)羅文青和黨總支書(shū)記廖禮彬率隊(duì)來(lái)訪重慶市外事翻譯中心，雙方就人才培養(yǎng)、師資共建、校地合作等話題進(jìn)行深入交流。

重慶市外事翻譯中心主任李洛曼分享了單位的發(fā)展規(guī)劃，她表示，在推進(jìn)中西部國(guó)際交往中心建設(shè)走深走實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)上，希望雙方拓展合作空間，在人才培養(yǎng)、校地合作等方面攜手探索新機(jī)遇。

羅文青表示，東方語(yǔ)言文化學(xué)院目前開(kāi)設(shè)9個(gè)語(yǔ)種專業(yè)，其中越南語(yǔ)、緬甸語(yǔ)、馬來(lái)語(yǔ)等東盟國(guó)家語(yǔ)種為重慶獨(dú)家，具有“關(guān)鍵語(yǔ)種”優(yōu)勢(shì)，在“一帶一路”建設(shè)和《西部陸海新通道總體規(guī)劃》的大背景下，服務(wù)區(qū)域經(jīng)濟(jì)和社會(huì)發(fā)展是學(xué)院義不容辭的責(zé)任，也是學(xué)院進(jìn)一步發(fā)展壯大的契機(jī)。

雙方在共享專家資源、承接重大翻譯項(xiàng)目、推進(jìn)東盟語(yǔ)種發(fā)展、加強(qiáng)國(guó)際傳播等方面目標(biāo)一致，具有堅(jiān)實(shí)的合作基礎(chǔ)，希望能夠盡快推進(jìn)相關(guān)工作的開(kāi)展。

“May 18th lnternational Museum Day” Special Exhibition Held by Chongqing Stilwell Research Center

To celebrate the 46th International Museum Day, Chongqing Stilwell Museum held a special exhibition themed “General Joseph W. Stilwell and China” from May 18th to 19th in the B Hall of Jialing Center in Yuzhong District.

This exhibition presents six sections including “Five Visits to China”, “Wars in Burma and India”, “Flying Tigers”, “Flying over the Hump”, “Dixie Mission in Yan’an” and “Lasting Friendship”. Pictures and texts are presented to make a comprehensive exhibition of the history when General Stilwell and the Chinese people’s worked shoulder to shoulder during the War of Resistance against Japanese aggressions, showcasing the tenacity and perseverance of Chinese people.

A great number of visitors are attracted by the exhibition to appreciate and enjoy the pictures and narrations, developing a profound understanding of the history and thus cherishing the current peaceful life.

重慶史迪威博物館舉辦“5.18國(guó)際博物館日”專題展覽

為慶祝第46個(gè)“國(guó)際博物館日”，重慶史迪威博物館于5月18日至19日在渝中區(qū)嘉陵中心B館舉辦了為期兩天的“史迪威與中國(guó)”專題展覽。

該展覽分為“五次來(lái)華”“征戰(zhàn)緬印”“飛虎空軍”“駝峰飛行”“美軍駐延安觀察組”和“友誼長(zhǎng)存”6個(gè)單元，以圖文結(jié)合的形式，全面展示抗戰(zhàn)時(shí)期史迪威將軍與中國(guó)人民共同抗擊日本侵略者的歷史，展現(xiàn)中國(guó)人民不屈不撓的偉大精神。

活動(dòng)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)吸引眾多參觀者，大家認(rèn)真觀看圖片、仔細(xì)聆聽(tīng)講解，并紛紛表示，通過(guò)圖片和文字了解了那一段抗戰(zhàn)歷史，將更加珍惜今天的和平生活。
