My Hometown

In the east of China, there is a small city—Zhangjiagang, which is in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. I was just born there. Today, I’d like to tell you about my hometown.

Zhangjiagang City is the place where my grandparents and parents have lived. When I was a little girl, I often played with my grandpa near the south bank of the Changjiang River. It’s very interesting. Even though there are many beautiful parks in Zhangjiagang and every morning there are a lot of people doing exercise there, I would like to go to play on the south bank of the Changjiang River, as the air’s always clean and fresh there.

Zhangjiagang is really a modern city. There are lots of high buildings in our city, and the streets are all wide and clean. Also, on each side of the streets, you can see green trees and colourful flowers.If you come here, you should say “Wow, how clean this city is!”

Zhangjiagang is also a developed city. In the center of Zhangjiagang City, there are many shopping centres, malls, and supermarkets, such as Zhangjiagang Pedestrian Street, Wanda Plaza,Wuyue Plaza and so on. There, you can buy almost everything you like, either made in China or made in other countries.And the traffic here is advanced. The expressways extend in all directions. Highspeed railways can reach most provincial capitals in China, such as Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Xi’an, Wuhan, Harbin and Guangzhou.Shuofang International Airport is about 40 minutes’ drive from the center of our city. If you would like to take a ship to travel around the world, just come to Zhangjiagang. Here, you can travel around the world by taking a luxury cruise ship, as Zhangjiagang is close to the estuary of the Changjiang River.

It’s said that in the United States of America, there is a garden state, which is called New Jersey State near New York City. However,do you believe that Zhangjiagang is regarded as a garden city? It is true absolutely! When you come to Zhangjiagang, you’ll surely find that the whole city consists of many big and small beautiful gardens.Of all the seasons, the plants in our city keep green, which make people comfortable. That’s because the weather here is just okay,neither too hot nor cold.

This is my hometown — Zhangjiagang. I hope you will come to visit our city some day.
