Han Dynasty
Left: length 6.1 cm, weight 46 grams;
Right: length 5.1 cm, weight 38 grams
Unearthed from Hengshan county
Casted in pure gold, both horses are face down. Their eyes, noses, joints, limbs, and even their hooves are hollowed out. On their fore limbs and backsides respectively are cast two rings.
The ring on the left one’s tail is linked to another. On this horse’s neck there is a crack. On the right one’s neck extends forwards a crescent-shaped hook. These horses are likely accessories for some sorts of objects.
