Thailand decided to act on the more and more wrappers4, plastic5 bottles and paper thrown away in national parks. It asked park workers to send litter back to tourists who littered. They get a letter saying:“We collected6 your litter and sent it to your home. This should be a lesson to never again throw away waste.” They can also get a $16,000 fine7.

Litter is terrible in many of Thailands beauty spots. It is easy to find people who litter because visitors to parks must write down their address8. Anyone who leaves litter near their camping place will get their waste back. The head of a park said, “It can be dangerous for animals like deer if they eat the litter and try to digest9 plastic waste that people leave behind.” The government said people should only leave footprints behind.
