The Wonderful View of the World

Jake likes to travel. His dad often takes him to many places. Jake wants to see some wonderful views of the world this summer， and dad agrees.

They drive to Mount St. Helens.

During the drive， Jakes asked dad， “Is it fun there？”

Dad answers， “It's fun. It's a famous volcano.”

Jake is afraid， “If the volcano erupts， what should we do then？”

Dad laughs and says， “It won't. If the scientists know that the volcano will erupt， we will know at once.”

After hearing dad's words， Jake feels a little excited， he asks again， “Then when did the volcano last erupt？”

Dad answers， “In 1982. So on the road， you'll see many sites. You will see all the trees had been burned down by the magma. And also there is ash on both sides of the road.”

They finally get to Mt. St. Helens. Dad takes Jake to the highest point. They look around. They see the far away mountains， and they also see three streams at the base. The streams' water is shining from the sun， it is very beautiful.

It is very quiet there. Dad says， “It seems very peaceful now， but when a volcano erupts， it's very earthshaking！ The light and the noise from the magma will shake one's heart.”

Jake thinks， “Nature is very powerful. It's also very strange. We need to cherish nature and become its friends forever.”

杰克喜歡旅游，他的爸爸經常帶他去許多地方。杰克今年夏天想去看一看世界奇景，爸爸答應了。

他們開車駛向圣海倫山。

在路上，杰克問爸爸：“那兒好玩嗎？”

爸爸說：“挺好玩的，那是一座很有名的火山。”

杰克很害怕：“要是火山爆發(fā)了，我們該怎么辦？”

爸爸笑著說：“不會的，如果科學家知道火山要爆發(fā)了，我們會立刻知道的?！?/p>

聽了爸爸的話，杰克有點興奮，他接著問道：“那它最近的一次爆發(fā)是在什么時候？”

爸爸回答說：“在1982年。所以在路上，你能看見被火山噴出的巖漿燒死的樹，還有公路兩旁的火山灰?！?/p>

他們終于來到了圣海倫山。爸爸帶著杰克爬到最高處。舉目望去，圣海倫山像一片沙漠。他們看到了遠處的山，還看到了山腳下的三個湖泊。湖里的水在陽光下閃閃發(fā)光，非常迷人。

周圍很寧靜。爸爸說：“別看現(xiàn)在這兒安安靜靜，火山爆發(fā)時，這兒可是驚天動地?。』鸸鉀_天，響聲巨大，極為震撼人心。”

杰克想：“大自然是偉大的，也是神奇的。我們人類要愛護大自然，永遠做大自然的好朋友?！?/p>
