Canada is known for its tremendous forests， scenic coast lines， and overwhelming mountains. Many universities in the country were built in the midst of these landscapes， while others boast brilliant architecture; some even combine the two. Here are five of the most beautiful campuses in Canada.

THE? ? UNIVERSITY? ?OF? ?BRITISH? ?COLUMBIA

British Columbia is often considered the most beautiful and scenic province in Canada; it sits along the west coast with the ocean on one side， and forests and mountains enveloping the rest of the province. UBC is located in the midst of this scenery， seemingly placed in its own private forest， surrounded by trees older than many other universities in the country. Both mountains and water can be seen from its buildings， providing its students with year-long beauty.

ROYAL ROADS UNIVERSITY

This university is not as well-known as many other Canadian schools， but can easily be considered one of the most beautiful. It is found on the southern tip of Victoria Island， also a part of British Columbia. Its main building is a castle that was built by a wealthy family， the Dunsmuirs， in 1908， and is surrounded by manicured wilderness. A few decades after， it was turned into a university. The castle in particular has been used as a location for many films， including X-Men.

THE? UNIVERSITY? OF? WESTERN? ONTARIO

Western University is located in London， Ontario， which is not often considered a scenic city. However， the layout and design of the university’s campus is often cited as Canada’s most beautiful. Many of its buildings are made out of stone and are laid out around its perfectly constructed green spaces. There are bodies of water scattered among the buildings and surrounded by grass. In the fall， the trees on campus change colours， providing a landscape view unlike many others.

THE UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO-ST. GEORGE CAMPUS

When walking through the campus in the heart of downtown Toronto， you will be able to see buildings with architectural tendencies from different periods over the course of decades. Along with many Hogwarts—like buildings are a number of courtyards where many students will study during the warmer months of the year. Sitting in the middle of the campus in Queen’s Park， a large green space with trails and impressive monuments.

DALHOUSIE UNVERSITY/KING’S COLLEGE

King’s College at Dalhousie University is the third oldest university in Canada， founded in 1789 in Halifax， Nova Scotia on the east coast. Being one of the oldest universities， it houses some of the most historic and magnificent architecture in Canada as well. Additionally， it is surrounded by Dalhousie University， which was built in a similar style. In this campus as well， students find themselves in courtyards similar to the University of Toronto’s. Just blocks away from the campus are the ocean， and a beautiful dock and port.
