Interviewer:When did that first1)germ [d?з?m] n.芽,萌芽germof that thought come to you “Maybe I can be an actor?”
Aamir:Well, you know,I think it must have been when I was about 15,16 or so.What really made me realize that I want to be in the film, whether it’s acting…I want to be part of cinema is when I did a short film for a friend of mine. So,he was making a short film for himself to learn cinema and film-
making and…and he needed help,so he asked me if I’d act in it.And I was his actor,spot boy,production manager,assistant director,all rolled into one.So we2)shoot [?u?t] v. shotthat film,it’s a 40-minute film,and the experience of doing that film made me realize that this is where I want to be.
And then, today, when I think back, actually the seed here,it was3)sow [s??] v. sownmuch earlier, because, when I was a kid,I used to love to listen to stories. And a lot of writers and directors would come to4)pitch [p?t?] v.<非正式>推銷,力薦pitchscripts to my dad and to my uncle, and I would sit in the corner, and I used to listen to the stories. So I must have heard hundreds of stories of different writers, directors who come and pitch.Could be story line here, could be an outline here, could be a fully developed script here. And every Saturday,Sunday, which was a school holiday for me,I used to listen to stories, and, you know,I think that was my first training ground of understanding script and stories, and I used to listen to them talk, and I still remember my dad used to always say at the end of a5)narration [n??re??(?)n] n.
Interviewer:So,you were naturally…
Aamir:…what he was saying, which I realized later on,is he was saying “What is the6)premise [?prem?s] n.前提premiseof your film? What are you trying to say?” All of this started going into me at a very young age.I was seven or eight at that time. So,but it7)come to the fore 出現(xiàn),涌現(xiàn)came to the foreinto my8)conscious [?k?n??s] adj.有意識的,意識到的consciousthinking when I was about 15.
Aamir:Yeah, that’s what I want to do.
Like eureka.
Eureka!” Adam jumped with excitement when the idea hit him.It was truly an eureka moment.(想法出現(xiàn)時,亞當興奮地跳了起來,那真的是靈光一閃的瞬間。)
