A New Line to Thailand Adds into the Chongqing Southbound International Logistics A Mark That An International Dimensional Transport System of Air, Water,Railway and Road in Chongqing Has Taken Shape

On July 14, the Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry of Chongqing-ASEAN International Road Logistics loaded with rice mills (hereinafter referred to as "Regular Lorry") launched from Chongqing-ASEAN International Logistics Park to Bangkok, Thailand. The line employs the " fi ve fi xed models" namely “ fi xed point, fi xed line,fixed vehicle, fixed time, fixed price”, which passes Pingxiang, Guangxi China, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. Following the East line and the second East line, this is another new line that connects international logistics channel to the south of the Maritime Silk Road, marking a preliminary shaping of international dimensional transport system of air, water, railway and road in Chongqing.
News from the Ministry of Commerce website,Vietnam National News Agency, (VNA) has quoted the news from Xinhua News Agency at the end of June, reported that Chongqing, the important China's southwest city would put lorries of southbound international highway logistics channel into use so that Southeast Asian agricultural and sideline products, fruits, grain and oil,timber and other commodities can be transported to Chongqing more conveniently and quickly, which will cover the whole central and western regions through the international logistics channel. VNA has expressed great interest and expectations.
Chongqing-ASEAN International Logistics Park, the departure place of Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry is located in Chongqing Nanpeng Highway Logistics base relying on its unique geographical advantages of the south gate of the main city, north to inner ring highway, south to ring expressway, east to Baotou-MaoMing Highway (G65) and west to Lanzhou-Haikou Highway (G75). The lorries from the park can access the highway system instantly and arrive destinations of Southeast Asian countries. Therefore, it has become the main carrier of Chongqing southbound international logistics channel. Meanwhile, the opening of the Regular Lorry will also fasten the base's opening to the outside, form the international cargo distribution center within itself to become a key area of Chongqing southbound international logistics channel.
As planned, the regular lorry will be divided into east line, mid line and west line. East line is Nanpeng of Chongqing—Pingxiang of Guangxi—Hanoi of Vietnam(Second east line is Nanpeng of Chongqing—Qinzhou Port—Singapore); mid line is Nanpeng of Chongqing—Mohan of Yunnan—Vientiane of the Laos—Bangkok of Thailand; west line is Nanpeng of Chongqing—Ruili of Yunnan—Yangon of Myanmar. In April 2016,the first line east line was initiated, which starts from Chongqing, passes Pingxiang, Guangxi and arrives Hanoi, Vietnam in only 45 hours.
The newly opened mid line, passing Chongqing to Guizhou and leaving border in Pingxiang of Guangxi,arrives in Bangkok of Thailand after going through Vietnam and Laos. The transportation distance of the line is 2,800 kilometers and its run time is about 98 hours. Compared with 30 days of one way sea transportation, it has greatly shorten the transportation time from Chongqing to Thailand. Goods transported from Chongqing are mainly Auto Parts, while what the shuttle brings back are clothes, agricultural and sideline products and other Southeast Asian goods.
The future west line, starting from Chongqing to Yangon, Myanmar, and passing Guizhou and Ruili,Yunan, is about 2,700 km.
According to the person in charge of Chongqing-ASEAN International Logistics Co. Ltd., the opening of the mid line created a new international transportation route between Chongqing and Thailand and shortened transportation time. Chongqing-ASEAN logistics capacity was enhanced and channels of trade communication were widened. It further enlarges the radiation range and radiation radius of the Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry, which embodies the requirement of "improving the radiation capacity and reproducibility" put forward by the municipal government of Chongqing Municipality on the China-Singapore Demonstration Project.
On efficiency, the run time of Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry (including border clearance time) refers to the time from the customer warehouse to the designated location; and railway transportation takes the the mode of on-station transport, which does not include the time from the loading departure to the railway cargo station, the delivery time of goods for shipment at the railway station and the time spent from railway station to the destination.
From the security perspective, Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry takes the policy of "door to door" , that is, from the door of the shipper directly to the door of the receiver. The operation process only needs to carry out one hanging box operation at the border, without transferring or repeated handling and carrying, which greatly reduces the risk of cargo damage.
In terms of flexibility, freight volume and destination,can be both customized according to customers'requirements. Their goods can be shipped at any time so they do not have to wait for other goods to be shipped together, while for railway transportation,goods must reach a certain amount before delivery and the line can not be changed.
According to the Chongqing Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) in Chongqing-ASEAN International Logistics Park has successfully started operation, relying on Chongqing Nanpeng Highway Logistics Base, which will further improve the international road logistics channel from Chongqing to Southeast Asia and South Asia. With the normal operation of Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry, the number of “ fi ve- fi xed” regular lorry to Southeast Asia,South Asia and other southbound "Trans-Asian Lorry"will be increased, making it another card for Chongqing after “Chongqing-Sinkiang-Europe International Railway”.
