2014年中國國際友好城市大會(huì)主題：“我的城市、我的夢(mèng)”

“2014年中國國際友好城市大會(huì)暨廣州國際城市創(chuàng)新大會(huì)”于2014年11月28日—29日在廣東省廣州市舉行，來自世界56個(gè)國家的600多位代表出席。本屆大會(huì)以“我的城市、我的夢(mèng)”為主題，研討中外城市合作與創(chuàng)新。

大會(huì)還舉辦了世界城市高端訪談和“城鎮(zhèn)化與智慧城市”“絲綢之路與地方政府合作”主題論壇，來自國內(nèi)外的30余位與會(huì)代表在論壇專題討論會(huì)上發(fā)言。大會(huì)還對(duì)全國友協(xié)和友城聯(lián)合會(huì)評(píng)選出的81個(gè)獲“對(duì)華友好城市交流合作獎(jiǎng)”，38個(gè)“國際友好城市交流合作獎(jiǎng)”和5個(gè)“國際友好城市特別貢獻(xiàn)獎(jiǎng)”的城市予以表彰。

Review on previous sessions

The 1st China International Friendship Cities Conference was held in Beijing on November 8-9, 2008 where Xi Jinping, Vice President of China and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC, made his presence and delivered an importance speech. Totally 500 people or so participated in this conference, including leaders from 77 provinces, states and cities of 35 foreign countries, heads from foreign local government organizations and Sister Cities Associations, foreign friends of various circles, representatives from friendship cities and leaders of local governments from 50 cities of 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipal cities) of China.

This conference was themed on “A harmonious world of mutual friendship, cooperation, peace and development”. 46 representatives both from home and abroad discussed the topic of “sustainable development of international friendship cities” and shared their experience about successful exchange and cooperation in fields like economy, culture, education, science and technology, human resources and sports. In order to commend the prominent contributions China’s provinces and cities have made in promoting the sound and healthy development of friendship cities over the past 35 years, the CIFCA set up 27 awards in total, including 10 “Exchange and Cooperation Awards” for provincial friendship cities, 15“Exchange and Cooperation Awards” for deputy provincial and municipal friendship cities and 2 “Special Contribution Awards”for friendship cities.

The 2010 China International Friendship Cities Conference was held in Shanghai on September 8-10, 2010, when the World Expo of Shanghai was going on too. Totally 571 people took part in this conference, including 427 representatives from local governments, local government organizations, friendship cities organizations and friendship cities associations of 47 foreign countries, and 144 domestic officials from local governments of 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipal cities) of China.

This conference was themed on “Cities cooperation for better life”. 27 representatives both from home and abroad had discussion, exchanged experience and shared outcomes against issues like how to cope with the global financial crisis, urban environment protection, energy-saving and emission-reduction, new energy development and utilization, urban infrastructure construction, public transportation, establishment of new brand for cities, community culture and sports hygiene construction and so on. The CIFCA issued “International Cities Exchange and Cooperation Awards and Special Contribution Awards” to 37 provinces (autonomous regions and municipal cities) of China, set up the “China’s Friendship Cities Exchange and Cooperation Award” for the fi rst time and selected 80 provinces, states and cities of 22 foreign countries to commend their outstanding contributions they have made in the friendly exchange and cooperation towards China’s cities all the time.

The 2012 China International Friendship Cities Conference was held in Chengdu city, Sichuan province on September 11-13, 2012.Totally 720 people made their presences on this conference, including 90 representatives from cities of China and 95 ones from cities of 49 foreign countries.

This conference was themed on “Happy City, Green Living”. Representatives both from home and abroad exchanged experience and shared outcomes against such five topics as city’s internalization development strategy, urban transformation and spanning development, urban development and investment orientation, urban emergency and disaster relief and aging of urban population so as to cement mutual dialogues and understandings between friendship cities, deepen their practical cooperation and promote their mutual development. 43 representatives both from home and abroad gave their speeches on those aforesaid topics. The CIFCA spoke highly of the prominent contributions which 80 domestic and foreign provinces, states and cities had made in friendship cities exchange and cooperation, issued 38 “International Cities Exchange and Cooperation Awards” and 4 “International Cities Special Contribution Awards”.

November 28-29, 2014 witnessed the 2014 China International Friendship Cities Conference & Guangzhou International Cities Innovation Conference in Guangzhou city, Guangdong province. More than 600 representatives made their presences on this “My City, My Dream” themed conference to discuss cities cooperation and innovation between China and foreign countries.

This conference covered high-end talks between international friendship cities and some other themed forums concerning“urbanization and smart city” and “the Silk Road and local government cooperation”. More than 30 representatives both from home and abroad gave their speeches against those aforesaid topics on the forum. The CIFCA issued 81 “China’s Friendship Cities Exchange and Cooperation Awards”, 38“International Cities Exchange and Cooperation Awards” and 5 “International Cities Special Contribution Awards” on the conference.
