隨著人們生活水平的提高，中國(guó)已經(jīng)從“自行車(chē)王國(guó)”跨進(jìn)“汽車(chē)王國(guó)”，但駕駛員的技術(shù)素質(zhì)和思想素質(zhì)依然低下，開(kāi)“英雄車(chē)”“霸道車(chē)”“霸王車(chē)”的現(xiàn)象在中國(guó)駕駛員中屢見(jiàn)不鮮，而由此導(dǎo)致的交通事故在中國(guó)是比任何疾病都更可怕的奪命“疾病”！如何有效地保障行車(chē)安全，成了如今中國(guó)人生活中不得不認(rèn)真正視的重大問(wèn)題。針對(duì)這一情況，Huan Hsu提出把汽車(chē)的喇叭跟剎車(chē)踏板連在一起，或設(shè)置讓車(chē)主丟臉的喇叭錄音，以解決魯莽的駕駛和汽車(chē)噪音問(wèn)題。

Make Chinese Pedestrians Safer

or all the health risks associated with living in China—dirty air， dirty water， different 1）hygiene standards， unpredictable medical care and so on—the most dangerous one is probably crossing the street. Despite having a fraction of the 2）automobiles as America， China suffers many times the traffic 3） fatalities. During my nearly 4 years in China， I was hit by a car once and nearly hit more times than I can remember， because in China， rights of way are completely 4）inverted. Rather than yield to pedestrians or 5）cyclists， Chinese drivers simply make liberal use of their horns and expect people to give way. 6）Honking is so incessant that people joke it’s the Chinese 7）brake pedal. All the noise and reckless driving threatens quality of life and public safety， so I propose we actually connect the car horn to the brake pedal. Now drivers can’t honk unless the brake pedal is engaged. And to solve the noise issue， I propose that all car horns play a recording that says， “I’m a selfish jerk who doesn’t care about peace and quiet”. This potential loss of face every time you press the horn will drastically reduce 8）frivolous honking.

所有與中國(guó)的生存環(huán)境息息相關(guān)的健康危險(xiǎn)因素中——污濁的空氣、骯臟的水質(zhì)、不同的衛(wèi)生標(biāo)準(zhǔn)、變化莫測(cè)的醫(yī)療服務(wù)等等——其中最危險(xiǎn)的應(yīng)該是過(guò)馬路。盡管跟美國(guó)一樣擁有一小部分的汽車(chē)，但是中國(guó)由于交通意外而死亡的人數(shù)是（美國(guó)人）的很多倍。我在中國(guó)生活了將近四年，期間，我被車(chē)撞過(guò)一次，也記不起來(lái)差點(diǎn)被撞了多少次，這是因?yàn)?，在中?guó)，車(chē)道的先行權(quán)是完全相反的。與其讓路給行人或是騎自行車(chē)的人們，中國(guó)的司機(jī)們只會(huì)隨心所欲地鳴喇叭，期待人們能夠給他們讓路。司機(jī)們不停地按喇叭以至于人們嘲笑車(chē)子的喇叭是中國(guó)司機(jī)的剎車(chē)踏板。所有的汽車(chē)噪音跟魯莽的駕駛對(duì)生活質(zhì)量和公共安全造成威脅，因此我想我們其實(shí)可以把汽車(chē)的喇叭跟剎車(chē)踏板連在一起?，F(xiàn)在除非司機(jī)踩剎車(chē)，否則他們無(wú)法鳴喇叭。而為了解決噪音問(wèn)題，我還想所有的汽車(chē)?yán)饶軌虿シ胚@樣一段錄音，“我是個(gè)自私的混蛋，不把生活的平靜放在眼里。”每按一次喇叭可能讓你感覺(jué)丟臉，這樣可以極大減少你隨意鳴喇叭的行為。
