A Comparative Analysis of Changes in Total Factor Productivity of the Manufacturing Industries in Seven Cities of the Pearl River Delta From 2012 to 2020 4

Abstract:Based on the data of the manufacturing industries from Guangdong Statistical Yearbook,this paper uses Malmquist DEA(data envelopment analysis)to estimate the total factor productivity(TFP)of manufacturing industry in seven cities of the Pearl River Delta including Guangzhou and Shenzhen from 2012 to 2020.Results show that the TFP of the studied areas has been fluctuated and declined,with an obvious decline in technological progress but relatively stable technical efficiency.The TFP of manufacturing industries in Shenzhen,Zhuhai and Guangzhou respectively is significantly higher than those in Foshan,Jiangmen,Dongguan and Zhaoqing.In terms of different industrial types,Shenzhen,Guangzhou,Foshan,Zhuhai and Jiangmen have higher TPF in their technology intensive industries;Foshan,Zhuhai and Jiangmen have higher TPF in their labor-intensive industries;and Guangzhou,Foshan and Zhuhai have higher TPF in their capital resource intensive industries.The conclusion of this paper is expected to provide policy enlightenment for promoting technological progress and improving the efficiency of resource allocation.

Research on the Scientific Research Cooperation Among Universities in Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao With Exchange Programs:Big Data Analysis Based on the Social Network Revealed by the CNKI Database 15

Abstract:Exchange programs among universities in Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao are key to the optimization and upgrading of the educational structure model of the region.In that sense,it is of great significance to discuss the current situation and development of interuniversity scientific research cooperation for the realization of collaborative innovation and encouraging the sharing of academic resources.Using the social network analysis method,40 universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance are selected to com-pare their research cooperation networks by region and by time segments based on the CNKI database.Results show that the scale of cross-university collaborative research within the scope of research is gradually expanding,but the cooperation frequency and participation of universities from Hong Kong and Macao is relatively low,with Guangdong-based universities playing a dominant role.The research tells that to promote the coordination between higher education and regional development,multi-level and multi-angle scientific research cooperation among universities and inter-regional disciplinary cooperation should be encouraged.

The Development Path of Downtown Duty-free Shops with Chinese Characteristics:Based on the Experience of the Offshore Duty-free Policy for Hainan 65

Abstract:In order to unleash the potential of the domestic market and accelerate the construction of the new development pattern of“dual cycle”,a number of downtown duty-free shops with Chinese characteristics will be built according to the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan(2021-2025)for National Economic and Social Development.Downtown duty-free shop is different from offshore duty-free,but there are internal links between them in terms of origin,business mode and regulation.On one hand,the successful practice of the offshore duty-free policy for Hainan provides valuable experience for the construction of downtown duty-free shops with Chinese characteristics.On the other hand,problems occurred in the implementation of the offshore duty-free policy for Hainan require collaboration among different departments of the government to solve.The paper suggests that developing downtown duty-free could be one of the solutions,and therefore it is necessary to introduce new duty-free policies as soon as possible,moderately plan the layout of downtown duty-free shops,relax business restrictions,promote domestic products through downtown duty-free shops,crack down on smuggling,and promote the coordinated development of portal,offshore and downtown duty-free in order to boost consumption.

Influence Research on the Development Level of Sci-tech Finance on Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship:Empirical Analysis Based on the Panel Data of Prefecture-level Cities 77

Abstract:The level of innovation and entrepreneurship is a key indicator to measure the degree of urban development.The focus of China’s economy has now shifted from rapid growth to high-quality development,which requires momentum from urban innovation and entrepreneurship,but cannot do without the strong support of finance.Sci-tech finance has,in recent years,attracted wide academic attention as a financial form serving scientific and technological innovation and a powerful driving force to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.Based on the panel data of 293 Chinese cities from 2014 to 2018,this paper uses the panel fixed effect model to empirically explore the effects of sci-tech finance on the development level of urban innovation and entrepreneurship.Results show that sci-tech finance can significantly promote the improvement of urban innovation and entrepreneurship,and the conclusion is still valid after the robustness test by subdivision and replacement of explained variables.Among them,government expenditure on science and technology,the status of regional science and technology enterprises,the scale of science and high-tech enterprises and venture capital level all play a positive role,with venture capital and private equity investment being the most active influencing factors.At the same time,with the upgrading of industrial structure,the concentration of human capital and the improvement of urbanization level,the promotion effect of science and technology finance on urban innovation and entrepreneurship will be more obvious.Based on the above research conclusions,this paper puts forward the policy implications to further improve the level of urban innovation and entrepreneurship through sci-tech finance.

Evaluation on the Quality of Informal Communication Space in Innovative Communities 94

Abstract:In the era of knowledge economy and the development of innovation community,informal communication space has increasingly become a key platform to stimulate innovative behaviors.Taking the informal communication space of Shenzhen’s Gaoxinnan innovation community as the subject of research,this paper tries to build an innovation-inspired spatial quality evaluation framework based on theoretical analysis,and proposes the research flow chart of“index selection-index verification-system construction-sample selection-evaluation results”.Correlation and regression analysis methods are applied combined with online and survey data.The quality evaluation index system of different types of informal communication spaces(including parks,squares and pedestrian streets)is explored and constructed.Both subjective and objective evaluation results indicate the space quality is at a medium level.It is proposed that the space design with innovative atmosphere should be strengthen to attract talents and enterprises and promote innovation to cities in the future.

City Symbol Construction and Image Building Through Propaganda Films:Based on the Content Analysis of 101 Guangzhou City Image Films From 2013 to 2020 112

Abstract:City propaganda film is one of the main ways to shape and spread the image of a city.From the perspective of urban symbol construction and image building,this paper adopts content analysis and narrative analysis methods to conduct normative coding and quantitative research on 101 city propaganda films about Guangzhou from 2013 to 2020,and deconstructs the dimensions and typical characteristics of Guangzhou’s city image by building a heptagon model of city image manifested by the propaganda films.The research finds that main character,economy,architecture and natural landscape are the dominant dimensions of the image construction of Guangzhou,while folk culture,food specialties and urban transportation are secondary dimensions,playing an auxiliary role.In terms of policy suggestions,people-oriented,model figure,civilians’perspective of narration,reflecting the concept of ecological civilization and combining with strategic planning are issues that need attention in the creation and practice of urban image building in the future.

The Influence of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education on the Entrepreneurial Willingness Among College Students of Liberal Arts:An Empirical Survey Based on 79,922 Questionnaires 128

Abstract:Innovation and entrepreneurship is an important driving force for the development of a country,and entrepreneurial willingness is one of the important prerequisites for innovative and entrepreneurial behaviors.It is of great significance for college students to cultivate their entrepreneurial willingness,whether it is for themselves or for the country.This paper takes college students of liberal arts as example,collects a total of 79,922 questionnaires from 895 colleges and universities in China,analyzes their current situation of innovation and entrepreneurship education,and explores the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship education,entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intentions of college students of liberal arts.Results show that the students under study are generally satisfied about the innovation and entrepreneurship education they receive,but there are still problems as follows:the types of innovation and entrepreneurship courses need to be expanded,the content of the course is misaligned with liberal arts majors;entrepreneurial competitions have little to do with liberal arts majors and therefore difficult to implement entrepreneurial projects;entrepreneurial practices and services need to be improved because they have not yet met the entrepreneurial needs of liberal arts students;the quality of entrepreneurship teachers needs to be improved;it is difficult to play the potential advantages of liberal arts majors.Meanwhile,mathematical model show that the such education has a significant positive impact on the entrepreneurial willingness on college students of liberal arts.The path is that innovation and entrepreneurship education have significant positive impact on the intermediary variable entrepreneurial self-efficacy,and the entrepreneurial self-efficacy has a significant positive impact on the dependent variable entrepreneurial intention.On this basis,this paper puts forward the following optimization strategies:competency-oriented,to build interdisciplinary integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education curriculum system;reform the teaching mode of innovation and entrepreneurship education for liberal arts majors with the idea of integrating knowledge and practice;to nourish a diversified teaching staff team for innovation and entrepreneurship education based on the standard of compatibility and inclusiveness;and aim at creating a sound and healthy psychological atmosphere and entrepreneurial environment.

A Study on the Course of Chronic Diseases in Urban Elderly Patients:Observations Based on Qualitative Research 144

Abstract:With the change in the country’s population structure and in the spectrum of disease,the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in the elderly is increasingly important to healthy aging.This study focuses on the urban elderly who has a high prevalence of chronic diseases and explores their course of disease based on qualitative research.In terms of illness attribution,an analysis framework from the perspective of life course is built,and the social causes of chronic diseases in the urban elderly is explored from three dimensions:initial accumulation,historical background and key events.In terms of illness perception,their illness feelings are examined from three aspects-physical,psychological and social-so as to understand the multiple impacts of illness on the patient.Optimizing suggestions for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in urban elderly as well as elderly care services are put forward accordingly.
