探秘佛光山“人間佛教”和“青年教育”

On March 9， 2014， IESCO’s delegation arrived at Fo Guang Shan， Gaoxiong to observe the“Humanistic Buddhism” and “Youth Education” there for two days. The delegation had cordial talks with the Director of Fo Guang Shan Supervision Institute and Executive Director of Youth Headquarters of The Buddha's Light International Association Master Hui Chuan and Director of the Forestry College of Fo Guang Shan Master Yong Guang.

2014年3月9日，國際生態(tài)安全合作組織代表團(tuán)一行抵達(dá)高雄佛光山，對(duì)佛光山“人間佛教”和“青年教育”進(jìn)行了為期兩天的考察，并與佛光山都監(jiān)院院長(zhǎng)、國際佛光會(huì)世界總會(huì)青年總部執(zhí)行長(zhǎng)慧傳法師，佛光山叢林學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)永光法師進(jìn)行了親切會(huì)談。

Fo Guang Shan is located in the Dashu District of Gaoxiong city and known as the “Buddhist Capital in Southern Taiwan”. The Buddhist buildings in the mountains are majestic. In order to develop and spread Buddhism， Master Hsing Yun established the Buddhist Education Institute to promote “humanistic Buddhism” and carry out “youth education”. Master Hsing Yun’s native town was Yangzhou， Jiangsu Province. He was born to a poor family and raised in the age of wars. He has expressed many times that the lack of education is a permanent regret in his life. Therefore， Fo Guang Shan started with education， which is the difference between Fo Guang Shan and other Buddhist temples in Taiwan.

Master Hui Chuan told us that the Youth Headquarters of the Buddha's Light International Association was founded in 1996. Master Hsing Yun said: “The founding of youth groups all over the world means the spread of Bodhi seeds. Don’t overlook any single seed as it will grow sturdily; don’t overlook any single cause， because its spread will shake the entire world.” Guided by these instructions， the Youth Headquarters actively guides the education activities of temples and of the Buddha's Light International Association. At present， the Youth Headquarters of the Buddha's Light International Association has nearly 200 branches all over the five continents in the world. All the youths of the Buddha's Light International Association bear a Bodhisattva heart and use their strengths to make contributions to promoting “Humanistic Buddhism” and maintaining a pure land on earth.

佛光山位于臺(tái)灣高雄市大樹區(qū)，有“南臺(tái)佛都”之稱。山上寺廟建筑宏偉壯觀。星云大師為提倡“人間佛教”實(shí)施“青年教育”創(chuàng)立了佛教教育院，以此弘揚(yáng)和推廣佛法。星云大師本是江蘇揚(yáng)州籍人士，出身貧寒，成長(zhǎng)于戰(zhàn)亂年代，他沒有上過學(xué)，因此，佛光山以教育起家，這就是佛光山與臺(tái)灣其他佛教叢林的不同之處。

慧傳法師介紹說，國際佛光會(huì)世界總會(huì)青年總團(tuán)于1996年成立伊始，秉承星云大師開示“世界各地青年團(tuán)的相繼成立，意味著菩提種子的播灑，不要輕看一粒種子﹐將來它會(huì)茁壯成長(zhǎng)﹔不要輕看一點(diǎn)因緣，它的傳播會(huì)震動(dòng)大千世界”的理念，積極引導(dǎo)各寺院、佛光會(huì)的教育活動(dòng)，從而帶動(dòng)當(dāng)?shù)厍嗄陮W(xué)佛、理佛、弘佛，一直發(fā)展至今天。目前，國際佛光會(huì)世界總會(huì)青年總團(tuán)在全球五大洲有近二百個(gè)分團(tuán)，所有佛光青年以菩薩之心，青年之力，共同為推動(dòng)人間佛教，實(shí)現(xiàn)人間凈土而共同努力。

The Forestry College is a cradle of Sangha. In recent 50 years， it has educated countless international talents of Buddhism. Now there are 150 trainees from nearly 10 countries in the Forestry College. Apart from the Buddhist classics， the curriculum also includes Buddhism culture， charity and relevant content about Fo Guang Shan， which brings the trainees in line with the Buddhism system of Fo Guang Shan. Youth training is one of the four main principles of Fo Guang Shan. It not only educates Sanghas， but also educates believers， women， and youths， including Buddhism and Sociology.

The delegation also visited the Buddha Memorial Hall， the Forestry College and Fo Guang Yuan Art Museum， which made them follow in person the life tracks of youths in Fo Guang Shan and the education development concept of Master Hsing Yun: “Even if there is very profound truth and popular classics， who are going to study them. Sanghas should have Sanghas’ education; believers should have believers’ education; and women and children should have the education for them”. It is truly refreshing and thought-provoking.

叢林學(xué)院是佛光山僧伽的搖籃，近五十年來培養(yǎng)、培育了無數(shù)國際弘法人才。佛光山叢林學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)永光法師表示，目前，佛光山叢林學(xué)院有來自超過10個(gè)國家，近150位學(xué)員。課程除了教授佛學(xué)經(jīng)典外，還增加了佛教文化、慈善以及與佛光山事業(yè)相關(guān)之專業(yè)課程，使學(xué)員畢業(yè)后能很快與佛光山弘法體系接軌。培養(yǎng)人才是佛光山四大宗旨之一，不僅對(duì)僧伽開展教育，也對(duì)信眾、婦女、青年進(jìn)行教育。

代表團(tuán)一行在佛光山考察期間還參觀了佛光山佛陀紀(jì)念館，佛光山叢林學(xué)院學(xué)員的課業(yè)起居，佛光緣美術(shù)館等，充分感受了佛光青年的生活足跡以及星云大師“縱有再高深的教理，再眾多的經(jīng)典，誰去研究？僧伽要有僧伽的教育；信徒，要有信徒的教育；甚至于兒童、婦女，也要有兒童、婦女的教育”的教育發(fā)展理念。讓人耳目一新，心有所悟。
