At the 85th Academy Awards， Ang Lee was awarded best director for his work on Life of Pi.

Life of Pi—based on Yann Martels novel， centers on a boys survival in the ocean after a tragic shipwreck. Most people thought it was impossible to adapt the novel for the big screen.

Its a philosophical book and an expensive movie， the worst combination， the most scary one. I think it was miracle that I could make this movie. I carried anxiety for four years.
