一、教學(xué)目標(biāo)
本單元的中心話題是physical appearance。通過本課時(shí)的學(xué)習(xí),大多數(shù)學(xué)生能夠通過人物的身高、體重、頭發(fā)及其他細(xì)節(jié)談?wù)撏饷?。同時(shí),大多數(shù)學(xué)生能通過同伴的描述,找出同伴描述的人物。
1.知識(shí)目標(biāo)。
①重點(diǎn)詞匯:hair,tall,heavy,thin,medium,height,build,like,always,curly等
②重點(diǎn)句型:What does he look like?He is of medium build.
What does she look like?She is tall.And she has...hair.
2.技能目標(biāo)。通過描述和談?wù)撊宋锏纳砀?、體重和頭發(fā)等,學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì)準(zhǔn)確使用相應(yīng)的形容詞進(jìn)行外貌描述。學(xué)生通過聽,獲得有關(guān)人物外貌的關(guān)鍵信息。
3.文化意識(shí)。學(xué)習(xí)描述人物的形容詞及多個(gè)形容詞修飾同一名詞的詞序,幫助學(xué)生了解中西方文化的差異。
二、教學(xué)重點(diǎn)
1.有關(guān)談?wù)撊宋锷砀摺Ⅲw重和頭發(fā)的描述性形容詞。
2.如何正確區(qū)分be動(dòng)詞和have/has的使用。
3.如何就人物的外貌進(jìn)行問答。
三、教學(xué)難點(diǎn)及解決辦法
1.如何使用“medium”對(duì)人物身高進(jìn)行描述,其發(fā)音也是難點(diǎn)。方法:通過比較圖片人物的身高數(shù)據(jù),并配以解說He is not tall or short.He is of medium height.讓學(xué)生猜測(cè)medium的意思。
2.學(xué)生可能在“is”和“has”的正確使用上有困難。方法:在2b聽力結(jié)束后,總結(jié)be動(dòng)詞和have/has在描述人物外貌時(shí)的區(qū)別,然后通過練習(xí)鞏固理解。
四、教學(xué)步驟
Step1 Presentation
T:Hello,everyone.Nice to meet you!Look!Whos that?Hes He Jong,my favorite host.He is very interesting and friendly.And he has many friends.Do you want to know He Jongs friends?
1.Height.Show the pictures of Lin Shuhao,Guo Jingming(通過對(duì)比身高數(shù)據(jù)引導(dǎo)學(xué)生說出tall和short。)Then,show the picture of Wang Han.Ask:“How about Wang Han?He is not tall or he is not short.What does he look like?”(幫助學(xué)生說出“He is of medium height.”)Then ask:Who is of medium height in our class?(要求學(xué)生說完整的句子,并確認(rèn)學(xué)生medium的發(fā)音是正確的。)
2.Build.Show pictures of Han Hong and Yang Mi.(對(duì)比體重?cái)?shù)據(jù)引導(dǎo)學(xué)生說出heavy和thin show。Then show the picture of Zhao Wei (of medium bulid).Ask:“Who is of medium height in our class?”Ss show their ideas.
3.Hair.First,show pictures of four people with different hairstyles: short curly hair,long straight hair,short straight hair,long curly hair.Then ask students to talk about their own hairstyles.At last,play a game.Design a new hairstyle for your partner.
Step 2 Practice
1.Activity1a:Match the words with the people.(要求學(xué)生用句子說出自己的答案。)
2. Activity1b:Listen and find Amys friend.
3.Listening 2a and 2b.
①Activity2a:Listen and answer questions.這里出現(xiàn)的是選擇問句,要求學(xué)生劃出每一句的關(guān)鍵詞,并圈出聽到的答案。
②Activity2b:Fill in the chart.這部分主要是聽描述性形容詞,提醒學(xué)生聽出是用is還是has,介紹速記技巧,只寫下單詞的首字母,聽力結(jié)束后再補(bǔ)充完整。校對(duì)完答案后進(jìn)行模音練習(xí),注意語調(diào)的模仿。
4.總結(jié)be動(dòng)詞和have/has在描述人物外貌時(shí)的區(qū)別,并配以相應(yīng)強(qiáng)化練習(xí)。
5.Pairwork.Students talk about a person they like.提醒學(xué)生在交談的過程中,注意對(duì)方is和has使用是否正確。
A:What does your look like?
B:He/She is....and...And he/she has...hair.
A:Is he/she...?(name/...)
B:Yes,he/she is./No,he/she is...
Step3 Guessing game
Ask one student to guess “Who is he/she?”,other students look at the picture and describe the person.They say like this:He/She is...He/She has...He/She wears...He/She likes...(教師事先選好班里特點(diǎn)較明顯的學(xué)生照片,要求先描述外貌,再談及衣著和愛好等其他特點(diǎn),不允許談到人名。每個(gè)學(xué)生只允許講述一個(gè)特點(diǎn)。這樣難度從低到高,讓各個(gè)層次的學(xué)生都有機(jī)會(huì)參與)。
Step4 Summary
How to describe a persons appearance?引導(dǎo)學(xué)生看板書,總結(jié)從哪幾個(gè)方面描述人物的外貌,并關(guān)注動(dòng)詞的使用。
Step5 Homework
1.描述父母及家庭成員的外貌特征,并和同伴進(jìn)行交流。
2.查字典找出更多修飾人物外貌的詞匯。
