一、動詞be的形式

[口訣展示]:be動詞三變化,am, is還有are,

“我”(I)用am?！澳恪?you)用are,is緊跟“他(he)、她(she)、它(it)”。

“我們(we)、你們(you)”和“他們(they)”,全用are來表達(dá)。

[友情釋疑]:當(dāng)主語為第一人稱單數(shù)I 時,用am;當(dāng)主語為第二人稱單數(shù)you時,用are;當(dāng)主語為第三人稱單數(shù)時,用is;當(dāng)主語為復(fù)數(shù)時,不管是第幾人稱,都用are。

[特別提醒]:何為第三人稱單數(shù)?不少同學(xué)往往產(chǎn)生誤會,以為只有he, she, it才是。其實,像this, that, this book, my name, your brother, his MP4等等,只要不是I(我)或you(你),所有的表示單數(shù)的名詞或代詞都屬于第三人稱單數(shù)。

[實例展示]:

1.I am in Class Two. 我在二班。

2.Are you Han Mei? 你是韓梅嗎?

3.He is my good friend. 他是我的好朋友。

4.Li Ping and Zhang Hong are my classmates. 李萍和張紅是我的同班同學(xué)。

5.My name is Gina. 我的名字叫吉娜。

二、動詞be的句型轉(zhuǎn)換

[口訣展示]:變否定,很容易,be后not加上去。

變疑問,要調(diào)換,將be移至主語前,句子開頭應(yīng)大寫,句末問號莫忘添。

[友情釋疑]:在be后直接加not變成否定句;把be提到主語之前,句子開頭的首字母大寫,句末加上問號就變成了一般疑問句。

[實例展示]:

1.I am an English teacher. → I am not an English teacher.

2.He is in Class One, Grade Seven. → Is he in Class One, Grade Seven?

三、動詞be的縮寫形式

[口訣展示]:主謂縮寫有規(guī)律,去掉頭字用“‘”替。

this 和is不能縮,這個一定要記牢。

肯定答語要小心,be字不與主語靠。

[友情釋疑]:am, is和are與絕大多數(shù)主語或疑問詞有縮略形式,分別為:m,s,re。this和is不能縮寫。在肯定回答中,am, is, are也不能與其主語縮寫。

[實例展示]:

1.Im a boy. 我是個男孩。

2.Hes an English teacher. 他是一位英語教師。

3.Theyre some new books. 它們是些新書。

4.Whats(What is) your name? 你叫什么名字?

[特別提醒]:

1.be(am, is, are)在句中可譯成“是”、“在”等。如果后接一個表示地點或表示位置的介詞短語,一般譯成“在”,其它情況下一般譯成“是”,有時也不必翻譯出來。如:

Im a middle school student. 我是一名中學(xué)生。

Is Tom at home? 湯姆在家嗎?

My brother is 16. 我哥哥十六歲。

2.I作為“字母”,在句中作主語時,后面的動詞be不用am而要用is。如:

“I” is a letter. “I”是一個字母。

3.I與名詞或代詞并列作主語時,謂語動詞要用are。如:

Daniel and I are good friends. 丹尼爾和我是好朋友。

4.and連接兩個并列的單數(shù)名詞或單數(shù)代詞作主語時,謂語動詞要用are。如:

Gao Kun and Wang Dong are not in the same class. 高坤和王冬不在同一個班。

You and she are both students. 你和她都是學(xué)生。

5.英語中表示運算結(jié)果時,無論數(shù)字是多少,動詞be都用單數(shù)形式is。如:

——What is three and five? 三加五等于幾?

——Its eight. 等于八。
