療養(yǎng)院緊鄰現(xiàn)有的大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)中心，其建筑充分利用了所選地段的強(qiáng)烈特征：該地段被馬恩－萊茵運(yùn)河劃分成兩個(gè)獨(dú)立部分，并面向默爾特運(yùn)河都市再開發(fā)地區(qū)。建筑本身就代表一個(gè)杰出的理念：建筑物從地面抬高6.5m，像橋梁一樣跨越運(yùn)河，就像人們在威尼斯常常見到的那樣。該設(shè)施整體的基準(zhǔn)層位于一塊水平放置的單層板上，支撐它的則是建造在樁柱上并錨固于水路兩岸的兩棟建筑，它們的外觀直接反映了各自的結(jié)構(gòu)形式。基準(zhǔn)層針對病人的需要提供了一個(gè)完整的技術(shù)支持中心，它包含了從浴療到木工教室等所有的機(jī)能康復(fù)空間，并將最為重要的交流空間設(shè)置在橋上。建筑被包圍在經(jīng)過鏡面拋光處理的不銹鋼折疊片當(dāng)中，這種材質(zhì)具有發(fā)光和減輕結(jié)構(gòu)體量的效果，使得整個(gè)建筑融入到周邊環(huán)境之中。寬褶皺、雙層窄褶皺以及用來進(jìn)行照明控制的可轉(zhuǎn)向條板，這3個(gè)精心布置的垂直元素高達(dá)5m。上層的住宿單元擁有良好的視野和自然光照，它們明快的色彩使自身成為了從下層的醫(yī)療和技術(shù)支持中心之間升起的照明景觀整體中的亮點(diǎn)。位于樁柱之間的是一層與二層之間的夾層，具有公眾接待和管理功能。建筑下部被自然遮蔽起來的環(huán)繞層作為停車場使用，并作為通向林蔭道的透明延伸部分，在小鎮(zhèn)與運(yùn)河之間創(chuàng)造了聯(lián)系。建筑的黑色亞光內(nèi)表面（Underface）襯托了建筑的發(fā)光表面和閃耀的蝴蝶結(jié)狀立面。運(yùn)動(dòng)醫(yī)療學(xué)校的體量與最為活躍的病人們所使用的另一棟建筑比例相同，采用色彩明亮的條紋與之相區(qū)別。理療康復(fù)療養(yǎng)院在為病人提供一個(gè)真正的療養(yǎng)過程的同時(shí)，保證了病人進(jìn)行專業(yè)活動(dòng)的可能性，并使得他們能夠?yàn)榛氐交钴S的社會(huì)生活中做好準(zhǔn)備?！酰ɡ瞽[ 譯）

Lying immediately next to the existing university hospital centre, the institute's architecture takes full advantage of the powerful nature of the chosen sitetwo plats separated by the“Marne au Rhin”canal and giving onto the“Meurthe et Canal”urban redevelopment zone. A remarkable idea imposed itself:that of a bridge building crossing the canal, similar to those to be found in Venice, raised 6.50 metres aboveground level. This waterline, the reference level for the entire facility, is laid out horizontally on a single slab level and supported by the two buildings built on piles and anchored to either side of the waterway whose presence imposes its own structured form.This reference level, built around tile needs of the patients,provides a complete technical support centre that include s all functional rehabilitation spaces, from balneotherapy through to carpentry workshops, without forgetting the social areas concentrated on the bridge.Surrounded by a mirror-polished stainless steel pleated sheet facing which has the effect of lightening and dematerialising the structure, the building blends into its surroundings. Three precisely laid out vertical elements rise up over a height of five metres: wide folds, thin doubled up folds and directional slats for light control. The accommodation units on the upper floor are provided with views and natural light. With their brightly coloured renders, they dominate the luminous landscaped patios that rise up through the medical and technical support centre on the level below.The mezzanine level positioned among the pilesis used to receive the public and for administrative functions. The naturally sheltered around level below is used for parking and provides a transparent extension to the boulevard, creating a link between the town and the canal. The matt black underface of the building emphasises the brilliance of the glazed surfaces and the glistening ribbon-like finish of the elevations. The school of ergotherapy occupies the same volumetric proportions as the ether building used by the most active patients but is differentiated by the use of brightly coloured strips. The IRR (institute of physiatrics and rehabilitation) provides patients with a real life project while allowing them to maintain a professional activity, or prepares them for their return to an active social life. □
