wait 【熱身練習(xí)】

1. 不要等我。

【自我展示】“我”一般用作不及物動(dòng)詞,與某動(dòng)作發(fā)生“遲”、“早”或“耽誤”有關(guān),意為“等;等候”。我主要有以下幾種用法:

一、我可單獨(dú)使用。eg:

Wait (for) a minute. 請等一下。

Dont wait dinner for me. Ill be late.

別等我吃飯,我要晚點(diǎn)兒來。

Wait till the bus stops before getting off.

等公共汽車停下來再下車。

I can wait if you cant get there on time.

如果你不能按時(shí)到這里,我可以等。

二、當(dāng)后面接表示所等的人、物的名詞或代詞時(shí),應(yīng)與介詞for連用。eg:

Who are you waiting for? 你在等誰?

They are waiting for the bus.

他們正在等公共汽車。

三、當(dāng)后面是表示等待的目的,常接to do。eg:

They are waiting to have dinner.

他們正等著吃飯。

We are waiting to go there.

我們等著去那里。

四、如果表示“等某人(物)進(jìn)行某動(dòng)作”,用wait for sb.(sth.) to do 結(jié)構(gòu)。eg:

Are you waiting for me to give back the book? 你在等我還書嗎?

The students are sitting quietly in the classroom and waiting for their new teacher to come in. 學(xué)生們靜靜地坐在教室里,等候新老師的到來。

五、wait習(xí)慣上后面接“and+另一動(dòng)詞”,而不直接跟動(dòng)詞不定式。例如:

Lets wait and see. 讓我們等著瞧。

sure 【熱身練習(xí)】

1. 他明天一定會(huì)來。

2. “明天上午你能幫助我學(xué)習(xí)英語嗎?” “當(dāng)然可以?！?/p>

“Can you help me with my English tomorrow morning?” “____.”

【自我展示】“我”既可用作形容詞,又可用作副詞。我主要有以下幾種用法:

一、我用作形容詞時(shí),意為“肯定的;當(dāng)然的;有把握的”。常用于以下短語或句型:

1. be sure意為“肯定的”。eg:

Are you sure? 你能肯定嗎?

How can you be sure? 你怎么能肯定呢?

2. be sure to do sth. 表示要求,意為“務(wù)必做某事;請一定做某事”,多用于祈使句。eg:

Be sure to telephone me.

請一定要給我打電話。

be sure to do sth. 還可表示一種推斷,意為“一定做某事;肯定做某事”。eg:

He is sure to be back soon.

他一定會(huì)很快回來。

Be sure not to forget it. 千萬別忘了。

3. be sure of/about (doing) sth. 表示人對某事(物)的看法,意為“對……有把握”。其后常接名詞、代詞或動(dòng)詞-ing形式。eg:

You must be sure of yourself.

你要對自己充滿信心。

Are you sure of passing the exam?

你有把握通過考試嗎?

Im not sure about English grammar.

我對英語語法沒有把握。

4. be sure+從句,意為“確信”。eg:

Im not sure that he will come.

我不確信他會(huì)來。

二、“我”用作副詞,意為“當(dāng)然;的確;一定”。

1. 常用來回答一般疑問句,意為“當(dāng)然;的確”,相當(dāng)于yes;certainly或of course。例如:

“Can you help me?” “Sure.” “你能幫助我嗎?” “當(dāng)然可以。”

“Are you going with us?” “Sure.” “你和我們一起去嗎?” “當(dāng)然啦?！?/p>

2. make sure意為“查明;弄清楚”。其后可接of, about或that從句。例如:

Make sure you get there on time.

你務(wù)必按時(shí)到達(dá)那里。

You should make sure of the time.

你應(yīng)該把時(shí)間弄清楚。
