Adapted from the Mine Yoshizaki gag-manga2) of the same name (which was released in the U.S. as Sergeant3) Frog)， Keroro Gunsou is the story of a not-so typical Japanese family and the alien frogs who turned their lives upside-down.

《青蛙軍曹》改編自吉崎觀音的同名搞笑漫畫(在美國(guó)發(fā)行時(shí)譯為Sergeant Frog)，故事圍繞著一個(gè)不怎么典型的日本家庭和幾只外星青蛙展開，這個(gè)家的生活被這些外星青蛙搞得亂七八糟。

A Frog on a Mission 青蛙奉命入侵地球

When pre-teen Fuyuki Hinata (age 12) and his tomboyish4) sister Natsumi (age 14) discovered an alien in Fuyuki's bedroom， that was just the beginning of their troubles. This alien， Sergeant Keroro， was the leader of a recon5) team for an alien invasion from Keron， \"the 58th Planet of the Gamma Storm Cloud System\". But once his superiors realize he's been found out， they abort6) the mission and leave him and his crew behind. With no one else to turn to， Keroro ends up staying at the Hinata house with Fuyuki and Natsumi， living as something between a servant and a pet.

小男孩日向冬樹(12歲)和他那假小子似的姐姐日向夏美(14歲)在冬樹的臥室里發(fā)現(xiàn)了一個(gè)外星生物，而這還僅僅只是他們麻煩的開始。這個(gè)外星生物就是Keroro中士，他來自Keron星球——“Gamma 星云第58號(hào)行星”，是一支為入侵地球而派出的偵察隊(duì)的隊(duì)長(zhǎng)。然而，Keroro的上級(jí)發(fā)現(xiàn)他的行蹤已經(jīng)暴露，于是馬上放棄了侵略計(jì)劃，Keroro和他的偵察隊(duì)也被遺棄在了地球。在求助無門的情況下，Keroro最終只好留在了日向家，充當(dāng)一種介于傭人和寵物之間的角色。

Of course， Keroro is still an invader， and still plotting the downfall of Pekopon， when he's not doing chores for the Hinata family， or being distracted by such aspects of Earth culture as Gundam plastic model kits8) and the Internet. Before long， Keroro manages to reunite with his platoon mates.

Keroro Gunso is of the alien race known as Heppoko Uchuujin which looks just like any regular toad9) on the outside. During an intelligence10) mission to gather information for the upcoming invasion of Earth， his camouflage11) failed him and he was captured by the Hinata family.

He is fiercely (some would say insanely) loyal to the sergeant. His cute， childish demeanor13) hides a fierce temper， and a tendency to shoot lasers out of his mouth and eyes when provoked14).

Unimpressed by Keroro's leadership， he frequently wonders if he's the only one who takes the invasion of Pekopon seriously anymore. Despite his demeanor of a hardened veteran， he does have one weakness: an unlikely crush on Natsumi that sometimes borders on the obsessive.

Sergeant Major Kururu，

the intelligence officer

Taking a smug16) satisfaction in his role as the brains of the outfit， his laid-back demeanor annoys Giroro. Kururu is a genius inventor， though most of the devices he creates are used mainly for his own amusement (like an assortment17) of Transformation Rays) rather than the conquest of Pekopon.

Lance Corporal18) Dororo，

the quiet one and the token19) Ninja

Formerly the team's assassin20) (and named Zeroro)， Dororo spent some time apart from his squad before being introduced on the show， living with a group of ninjas21) in a secluded22) forest. There， he became a somewhat sentimental martial artist with a great respect for life on Earth. He and Keroro were friends as children， though Keroro abused this \"friendship\" to the point that whenever Dororo is reminded of these abuses， or just feels ignored， his \"Trauma23) Switch\" engages and he ends up sitting mournfully24) in the corner， sulking25).

他不把Keroro的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)放在心上，常常在想自己是不是唯一一個(gè)鄭重對(duì)待侵略地球計(jì)劃的人。盡管他的作風(fēng)宛如一個(gè)堅(jiān)毅的老兵，但他確確實(shí)實(shí)是有一個(gè)弱點(diǎn)的:他喜歡上了夏美，有時(shí)甚至接近迷戀的地步，但這種喜歡卻有點(diǎn)不切實(shí)際。

With this eclectic26) crew， Keroro schemes to conquer the planet through one convoluted27) scheme after another， though sometimes he feels torn between his mission and his obligation to the Hinata family...but not that often.

Speaking of the Hinata family， there are three members. (Four actually， but who cares about the dad?)

Fuyuki Hinata

Timid and introverted28)， but a very polite and kind person， he lacks any real form of physical ability. Truly scary when furious—even Natsumi is afraid of him when he snaps29) (but fortunately， it takes a lot to make him snap).

Natsumi Hinata

Very outgoing and athletic， she is Keroro's biggest obstacle to taking over Earth. She is a match to any of the Keroro platoon. Often the subject of Kururu's devices， in particular the Transformation Rays.

Aki Hinata

She is Fuyuki and Natsumi' mum， and is also a famous manga editor. She is very confident， and loves the fact that she has aliens living at home but is usually away from the home on business. Her husband is alive， but so busy at work that he only is referenced once or twice in the series.

說到日向家，家里一共有三個(gè)家庭成員。(事實(shí)上是四個(gè)，但誰在乎那個(gè)爸爸呢?)

日向冬樹

冬樹性格內(nèi)向，有點(diǎn)兒害羞，但他非常有禮貌并且心地善良，不擅長(zhǎng)運(yùn)動(dòng)。他生氣的時(shí)候絕對(duì)很可怕——當(dāng)他發(fā)怒的時(shí)候，連夏美都十分害怕他(所幸的是，要讓他生氣確實(shí)非常困難)。

日向夏美

夏美十分友善，是個(gè)運(yùn)動(dòng)健將，她是Keroro占領(lǐng)地球的最大障礙，能跟Keroro小組的任何成員相抗衡。夏美經(jīng)?！皽S為”Kururu發(fā)明的裝置、尤其是變形激光的攻擊目標(biāo)。

日向秋

她是冬樹和夏美的媽媽，也是一位著名的漫畫編輯。她非常自信，也非常喜歡自己的家里住著外星人這個(gè)事實(shí)，但是她因?yàn)楣ぷ鞯年P(guān)系經(jīng)常都不在家。她的丈夫還活著，但他的工作太忙了，所以在整個(gè)動(dòng)畫系列中只被提到過一到兩次。

Happy Living Together 地球人和外星青蛙愉快共處

Upon arriving on Earth， the Keroro squad plotted to invade the earth. But now， through being the housekeeper of the Hinata household， Keroro has become familiar with living an adventurous life on Earth. Keroro gets along well with Fuyuki， as well as Aki who at first considered the invaders as just an idea for a new manga， but now considers them as part of her family. Because of this， the other four members of Keroro Platoon had no other choice but to stay with their Sergeant Keroro.

剛開始到達(dá)地球的時(shí)候，Keroro偵察小隊(duì)是謀劃要侵略地球的。但是現(xiàn)在，Keroro成了日向家的管家，逐漸熟悉了地球上的冒險(xiǎn)生活。他與冬樹相處甚歡，還有秋，盡管起初秋只是把這些侵略者看作一部新漫畫的靈感，但現(xiàn)在她已經(jīng)把他們當(dāng)成了自己家人的一部分。如此一來，Keroro小組的其他四名隊(duì)員也就別無選擇，只能與他們的Keroro中士一同留了下來。
