It's been two years since the mild-mannered(溫文爾雅的) Peter Parker took the road of responsibility and became Spider-Man. Two years since he was forced to walk away from his one true love， Mary Jane Watson in order to protect her from Spider-Man's enemies.

But far from becoming easier， Peter faces more challenges as he struggles with his dual1 identity. The \"gift and the curse2\" of his powers is making life as a college student almost impossible to bear.

While loved ones and friends are moving on with life， he is stuck with3 the weight of the world on his shoulders. Mary Jane has now embarked4 on an acting career and has a new man in her life. Peter's relationship with his best friend Harry Osborn has been overshadowed (給…蒙上陰影) by Harry's growing vendetta(世仇) against Spider-Man， whom he holds responsible for his father's death (Harry's father is the Green Goblin， although completely unknown to his son). Even Peter's beloved5 Aunt May， who has fallen on hard times after the death of Uncle Ben， begins to have doubts about her nephew.

The relationships Peter holds most dear are now in danger of disintegrating (瓦解) and to make matters worse， all amoral6 and powerful new enemy hasarrived on the scene--the multi tentacled (多個觸手的) and completely amoral Doctor Octopus(章魚). Peter must use all the powers at his disposal7 to try to stop this madman in his tracks.
