【前情提要】

小強(qiáng)上班把手機(jī)落在了家里，結(jié)果讓Lily接到了小強(qiáng)秘書的曖昧電話。Lily非常生氣，但小強(qiáng)卻認(rèn)為是Lily小題大做，憤怒至極的Lily把小強(qiáng)鎖在了門外。

連續(xù)幾天都睡沙發(fā)的小強(qiáng)心情糟糕透頂，到了公司還惹來同事異樣的目光，惱怒之下，他決定和Lily說清楚；而Lily在回想了很久后覺得自己過分了，她希望和小強(qiáng)和好如初。

Part One: Holding up Half the Sky 強(qiáng)撐一面

（自從被Lily趕出臥室后，小強(qiáng)一直睡沙發(fā)。）

(Xiao Qiang has been sleeping on the sofa for three days. On the fourth morning， he wakes up with a start when he rolls off the sofa and bangs his head against the coffee table leg. Cursing， he looks at the clock on the wall and realizes that he is very late for work.)

Xiao Qiang: Shit!

(He runs into the bathroom and turns on the tap to shave. In his haste， he cuts himself under the nose with the shaver. He curses again loudly， and staggers out of the bathroom to get dressed. He is about to pull on the same work shirt for the fourth time when he notices Lily calmly eating breakfast at the table.)

Lily: Good morning.

Xiao Qiang: (sarcastically) Oh finally， the silent treatment is over? Can't you see I'm bleeding here?!

Lily: You're a big boy， I'm sure you can deal with it yourself.

Xiao Qiang: You know what?! I'm tired of this. I don't deserve this kind of treatment. I only told a little white lie in the first place because I didn't want you to worry unnecessarily. There was no malice intended at all. But the way you're treating me right now， you're being mean on purpose.I've apologized for having lied to you， and I've suffered for it for three nights now， don't you think that's enough?! I can't live like this， and if you can， I'm not sure you're the kind of person I want to live with.

Lily: (coolly licking yoghurt off the back of her spoon) Why don't you get your precious secretary to look after you then?

Xiao Qiang: Fine!! If that's what you want， I'm never coming back to this awful house again!!

(The front door slams behind him.)

(By the time Xiao Qiang arrives at his office it is already midday， and his colleagues are preparing to go for lunch.)

Colleague 1: Hey Xiao Qiang， you want to join us for lunch?

(Still too frustrated to speak， Xiao Qiang shakes his head wordlessly.)

Colleague 2: Hey… are you alright? If it's the client memo， it got done this morning. O've cc-ed you on the email.

Xiao Qiang: No no， it's not that… sorry guys， just not in the mood to go for lunch. Besides， I just got in. You guys go ahead， and I'll just catch up on some stuff here.

Colleague 1: Are you wearing the same shirt again?

Xiao Qiang: What? Oh…nah， I just have four of the same.

Colleague 1: You're seriously beginning to smell a little ripe there.

Colleague 2: Oh my god， did you have a fight with your wife? This happened to me before – I had to sleep on my friend's floor for a week before she'd talk to me!

Xiao Qiang: Well…it's not exactly that bad， but…yeah， we had a fight. She has this thing about Carrie...

Colleague 1: The secretary?

Xiao Qiang: Yeah… she called my phone the other day and Lily picked up， and she freaked out a bit because Carrie called me \"big brother\"， and then later I made the mistake of lying to her about who I was doing overtime with… said the whole team was staying behind when it was actually just the two of us.

Colleague 2: I think that's messed up. Lily should understand that you're working every day to provide for her， and learn to appreciate you more! You know， in Dongbei this sort of thing would never happen. Women over there know that their place is in the house， looking after their husband and child， and would never think to doubt their husband's actions in the workplace.

Colleague 3: I couldn't help overhearing， and I think what you're saying is messed up. What century are you from， anyway? Lily has a job of her own， and knows the reality of working in an office. She's seen what flirtation in the office can lead to. Xiao Qiang shouldn't have lied to her in the first place – trust is the most important thing in a relationship. Besides， you should be glad that she's jealous; it shows that she loves you.

（Later in the evening， most of Xiao Qiang's colleagues have gone home and he is left in his cubicle， staring at his computer screen.）

Xiao Qiang: (thinking to himself) Lily's so headstrong and self-involved， I don't know if this marriage is going to work. I mean， the fact that she has a strong sense of self is what attracted me to her in the first place， but… maybe the longer we stay married， the more irritating that will become. But I guess if I were to be completely honest with myself… she's been so sweet and devoted since we got married， and I on the other hand have been so caught up in my work… maybe I haven't made as much of an effort as I should have. I should go home and try to talk this through with her at least.

Part Two: Making Up和好如初

(Xiao Qiang arrives at home with a bouquet of roses. As he turns the key and walks in through the door， he notices how clean the apartment is.)

Xiao Qiang: Hello? Wow， the place looks amazing!

(He turns around and notices that the dinner table is laden with dishes of food.)

Xiao Qiang: Oh my god! She must have spent the whole day cooking!

(He feels a presence by his side and turns to see Lily by his side， holding up a birthday cake and beaming.)

Lily: Happy Birthday!!

Xiao Qiang: Oh my god， I… I totally forgot! You did this all for me?

Lily: Of course I did! What kind of a wife forgets about her husband's birthday?

Xiao Qiang: Lily， I… I don't know what to say…

(Lily gently sets the cake down on the dinner table， and takes the flowers from Xiao Qiang's hand.)

Lily: And these must be for me. Thank you， sweetie. (she gives him a light kiss) Here， take your jacket off， you must be exhausted.

(Lily takes Xiao Qiang's jacket from him and goes to hang it in the bedroom. She then returns to the dining room and lights the candles on the birthday cake as Xiao Qiang watches.)

Lily: Time to blow out the candles! Make a wish.

Xiao Qiang: Well… I wish that you and I can have a wonderful marriage and be happy with each other for the rest of my life.

(The two embrace.)

Lily: I'm sorry Xiao Qiang， I shouldn't have doubted you or second-guessed you. I know I need to learn to trust more， and I'm working on that. But at the same time， I want to know that you're making an effort too. I don't want you to lie to me， ever again. And I still want you to keep a certain distance from Carrie， that secretary of yours.

Xiao Qiang: Just seeing Sabrina with her baby， don't you feel a little broody? I would love to have a little kid running around. Maybe a girl， and then she and Qing Zhe can go on little play dates.And she would learn ballet， and take piano lessons， and become an accomplished singer and win Chinese Idol.

Lily: Yeah， I guess… I mean， Qing Zhe's so cute， of course it makes me want one a little too.But then I kinda come to my senses and realize that they're only cute for about ten minutes before they start screaming， and besides， it hurts like hell to give birth!

Lily: Having said that… it has been five days since we've been…together.

Xiao Qiang: Go on…

Lily: So I thought…

(Lily brings out a box from under her chair. She takes off the lid， revealing sexy lingerie nestled inside.)
