During the recent business trip to Egypt, Mr. Zhao Hong,v. president of China National Knitting Industry Association, called for a closer cooperation between Egyptian yarn spinnersand Chinese knitters in hope to encourage Chinese moreimports from the developing countries.
\"Although it is my first visit to China, the trip itself is worththe time and efforts as I have seen China as most potentialfor' our company's business,\" said by Mr. Nader Elhamy, commercial director of Setcore Spinning, one of the Egyptianleading textile companies both in cotton and cotton yarn lines.
Founded in 1972, Setcore Group has roots that date backto the 19th Century. Originally established as a leather tanneryin Alexandria, the company was of one Egypt's first modernindustrial concerns. In 1995, the Egyptian government liberalizedthe cotton trade and Setcore quickly became one of the largestexporters of Egyptian cotton. Following Setcore's successfulexperience in the Egyptian cotton trade, Setcore entered theyarn manufacturing business in 2003 with the establishmentof Setcore Spinning S.A.E. The idea behind Setcore Spinningis simple: to use high quality Egyptian cotton to produce finecount cotton yarns.
\"I have found that many big textile companies in Chinawant to compete in European market to offer quality fabrics. They need to have long staple cotton to produce fine countcotton yarn for fabric making. We produce single, double, compact, twisted and gassed yarn on hard cones as well as dyecones for knitting and weaving with a count range of Ne 20 toNe 200 in both single and plyed yarns.\"
\"In process of upgrading product struture in Chinesetextile mills, we think our company can contribute a lot to theirstrategy,\" continued Mr. Nader Elhamy, who was very proudto emphasize that Setcore Textile can supply both Egytian longstaple cotton and fine count cotton yarn.
He is now discussing with Chinese partners to set up thefirst representative office in China. To strengthen that idea, Mr. Ayman Nassar, Chairman of Setcore Spinning S.A.E. will also make a study tour to China in Oct., as one of the visiting delegates organized by International Spinners Committee.
