The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world. There will most likely be no ticker?鄄tape for us,no monuments created in our honor. But that does not lessen our possible impact,for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along;people who will appreciate our compassion,our encouragement,who will need our unique talents. Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,a smile,a kind word,a listening ear,an honest compliment,or the smallest act of caring,all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

我們大多數(shù)人在走過這個世界的時候過著一種平靜而默默無聞的生活，很可能我們沒有受到過熱烈的歡迎，沒有以我們的榮譽建造的紀念碑。但這并不會減少我們有可能產(chǎn)生的影響，因為有好多人等待著像我們一樣的人來陪伴。他們感激我們的同情關(guān)愛，感謝我們的激勵鼓舞，他們需要我們于世絕倫的才智。甚至有些人僅僅因為得到我們給予的付出而過上更幸福的生活。

我們經(jīng)常低估了一次接觸、一個微笑、一句溫暖的話、一次關(guān)切的聆聽、一句真誠的贊美，或者微不足道的關(guān)愛之舉的力量——所有這些都有可能讓一個人的生活發(fā)生改變。
