Instruments Made of Ice冰雪樂器

Do you play an instrument？ Have you ever made one？ Terje Isungset can answer yes to both questions. He’s a drummer. And he makes instruments out of something pretty cool. Ice！

It’s not just any ice. “You can buy perfect ice from factories around the world. But it will not have any sound，” Isungset said. He gets all of his ice from nature. “It’s nature that decides the sound of the instrument，” he said. Isungset got the idea for ice music more than 20 years ago. “I was asked to do a concert in a frozen waterfall，” he said. This gave him the idea to play instruments that were actually made out of ice.

As far as he could tell， this hadn’t been done before. “There were no books to read about it—nothing on the Internet，” he said. “So I had to make everything by myself.” In 2006， Isungset helped start the Ice Music Festival Norway， in Europe. It is held in February.

據(jù)他所知，以前從未有人這樣做過。他說：“沒有任何相關(guān)的書可以查閱，互聯(lián)網(wǎng)上也沒有相關(guān)資料。所以一切都得靠我自己。”2006年，伊松賽特在歐洲協(xié)助創(chuàng)辦了挪威冰雪音樂節(jié)。該音樂節(jié)在二月舉行。

Almost everything at the Ice Music Festival is frozen. “There are a lot of logistics of doing an ice concert，” Isungset said. “We come to a place， we get the ice， and we build the place out of snow and ice.”

Instruments include ice chimes and horns. Others are made-up. “For the festival， I have a goal of trying to make a new instrument every year，” Isungset said. What happens when the show is over？ “We give everything back to nature.” At the end of the festival， people help give the ice instruments back to nature.

Picture yourself playing an ice horn. Would your lips stick to it if it’s very cold？ “Many people ask that question，” Isungset said. “If the horn was made out of ice， they would get stuck for sure.” How to deal with it？ Use a small piece of leather. Place it on the horn’s mouthpiece. “It’s the only part of my instrument that is not made of ice.”

冰雪音樂節(jié)上幾乎所有的東西都是冰制的。伊松賽特說：“舉辦一場(chǎng)冰樂會(huì)要做很多后勤工作。我們來到一個(gè)地方，拿到冰，再用冰雪搭建這個(gè)地方?！?/p>

樂器包括冰鐘和冰號(hào)，其他的都是組裝的。伊松賽特說：“為了這個(gè)音樂節(jié)，我的目標(biāo)是每年制作一種新的樂器?！毖莩鼋Y(jié)束后會(huì)發(fā)生什么呢？“我們把一切都還給大自然?！痹诨顒?dòng)結(jié)束時(shí)，人們幫忙把冰雪樂器還給大自然。

想象一下自己在吹冰號(hào)。如果天氣很冷，你的嘴唇會(huì)粘在上面嗎？“很多人問這個(gè)問題。”伊松賽特說，“如果號(hào)是冰做的，那肯定會(huì)粘住?！痹趺崔k呢？把一小塊皮革裝在號(hào)的吹口上?！斑@是我的樂器中唯一不是冰做的部分。”
