Dear Mike,
I’m sorry to hear that you keep getting colds. Here is some advice for you.
First of all, it’s important to get enough sleep. Teenagers need 8 to 10 hours’ sleep every day to be full of energy. Not getting enough sleep may cause some health problems. Second, it’s good for you to drink enough water every day. Most people need eight glasses of water a day. Third, to stay strong, it’s a good idea to do more outdoor exercise. A teenager should exercise five days a week for an hour at a time. Last but not least, you should eat some fresh fruit and other nutritious food. All in all, taking up healthy living habits will protect you from getting colds.
I hope you will get well soon!
Yours,
Li Hua

Dear Phil,
I do the housework almost every day. I make my bed, clean up the room, clear the table and fold the clothes. I like to help my mother cook meals on the weekend. I have a strong feeling of satisfaction when I cook a dish by myself. But I hate doing the dishes and washing clothes. They’re so boring. It’s necessary for teenagers to share the housework at home. Everyone should do their part in keeping the house clean and tidy. Doing housework not only teaches me how to take care of myself but also helps me develop my independence. Don’t you think so?

How to Get on Well with Our Parents?
It’s very important for us to get on well with our parents. We should understand them. When we want to tell them our opinions, we’d better be in a polite way. We should also talk with them about our happiness and tell them about our problems. When we are free, we’d better help them do some things.
I get on well with my parents. I enjoy sharing everything with my parents. They are happy when I do something well and they try their best to help me when I have trouble. We love each other.

My Favorite Story
My favorite story is The Fox and the Crow. The fox wanted to get the meat in the crow’s mouth. So he said a lot of beautiful words to the crow about his song. The crow was so happy that he opened his mouth to sing a song. But as soon as he opened his mouth, the meat fell onto the ground. The fox got it and ran away.
I think the story is interesting and meaningful. It reminds me that we should never believe the person who wants to cheat us.

How to Protect Wild Pandas
There are now fewer than 2,000 pandas living in the wild. They are very cute and live on bamboo. Adult pandas are about 150 centimeters and weigh about 100 kilos. However, because of some human activities, pandas can not find enough to eat and they are having fewer babies. How to protect the pandas? First, we should learn more about the importance of protecting the wild animals. Second, we shouldn’t cut down the bamboo forests. Last but not least, we should call on more people to protect them.

W: Do you like your job as a zookeeper, Steve?
M: Yes. I find my job interesting.
W: What are you doing today?
M: Well, today we have a lot of work to do. We are researching the animals. We want to find out how heavy they are, how tall they are or how long they are.
W: OK. But there are lots of animals in this zoo. Do you have to research all of them in one day?
M: No. It takes five days to research all of them.
W: Phew! OK, so what animal will you research first?
M: Let me look at my notebook. Um, animal number one is Luna. She’s a snake. Next is the monkey Newt, and then the tiger Yoshi...

W: Can I help you?
M: Yes. I’m here for a meeting. But I have one day free so I want to look around. Where do you think I should go?
W: Well, you can visit Taipei 101. It’s the tallest building in the city. And it’s also a good place for shopping.
M: OK. I’ll buy some tea for my dad and some cakes for my mom. And I heard the Shilin Night Market is very interesting.
W: Oh, yes. The food there is very good. The market is open from 2:00 pm through to late night.
M: My plane leaves at 6 o’clock. I don’t think I have enough time. Well, are there any good museums?
W: You can go to the Fine Arts Museum. It’s near here.
M: Good. So I’m going to the museum first and then taking the subway to Taipei 101. Thank you.
W: You’re welcome. Enjoy your stay.

Last Saturday, I had my first visit to the Morgan Car Factory. It’s quite a long way from my home, and I can’t drive, so my cousin Leo gave me a drive, and I bought both our tickets. The tour started with a very good ten-minute information film, and then we walked around the factory. We watched workers build cars, and when I stopped and asked some questions, they didn’t mind. They use both old and new ways of working, and I learned a lot about the machines and engineering. The tour lasted for two hours, but I couldn’t see some of the outside parts of the factory, because it was raining. I’m going to get a really good job as an engineer when I’m older, so I can get a Morgan sports car.

Miserable Faith is a famous rock band in China with four members in it. They were taking part in a TV show named China Is So Beautiful. Miserable Faith is one of the bands which were invited to travel to and perform in villages. On their journey, the band visited some villages, traveled with a few villagers, learned about their stories and experienced a different lifestyle. They lost themselves in the beauty of the villages.
In the show, Miserable Faith performed their songs in the villages they visited. They didn’t care that there was no nice flowers or cheering fans. They just hoped the songs could bring them closer to the lovely villagers. For the band, it was a journey for the body and mind. It was a beautiful journey they will never forget.

I’m here to tell you about my music lessons. I’m Ms Brown. Some of you can already play the violin or piano because you are learning how to play them in your music class at school. But if you’d like to try something else, you can learn to play the guitar with me. I have a class of six students, and we have a lot of fun! My lessons are on Saturdays, starting at five thirty and finishing at seven o’clock. So you don’t need to come on Sundays. We meet in the Art Room at school. But if you want to talk about your lessons after the class, you can go to my office. And if you come, you must buy this book so you can practice at home. It’s called Improve, I-M-P-R-O-V-E. By the way, you can bring your phone to record your playing. My lessons are cheap. Each student pays just $30 a month. OK? Any questions?

Good morning, everyone! I’d like to tell you something about the changes in our school. In the past, there was only one classroom building. In front of the building, there used to be a small playground.
But now, great changes have happened here. We have one more classroom building and we also have a modern library building. We can read books or do our homework in the library. What’s more, we have a bigger playground. It’s large enough for all students to do morning exercises or have a sports meeting in it. Also, when we walk around our school, we can see more trees and flowers than before.
I love my school. I hope it will be even more beautiful in the future.
That’s all. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Linda. Today is December 21st. The day after tomorrow, I will move out of here. I have already cleared out a lot of things like some old magazines, a toy bear, a red hat and an old bread maker. I have sold the old magazines. My neighbor’s son, Jack, is six years old. He wants to keep the toy bear. What about the hat? I don’t want to give up my red hat because it was my 14th birthday present from my mother. I have had the old bread maker for ten years, but it still works well. I will give it to my neighbor, too.
