The 30th Beijing International Book Fair Was Held in Beijing
On June 19, the 30th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) opened at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, visited and inspected the book fair.
Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, this year’s BIBF comprehensively implemented the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the Second Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. It thoroughly studied and implemented Xi Jinping’s cultural thought under the theme “Deepen Mutual Learning Among Civilizations, Cooperate for a Win-Win Future.” The event adhered to openness and inclusiveness, maintaining integrity and innovation, and steadily promoted the construction of a high-level platform for opening up to the outside world. It aimed to promote practical cooperation in cultural trade, showcasing the achievements of Chinese civilization and the excellent civilizations of the world through books. The exhibition area of the BIBF covered 55,000 square meters, divided into domestic publishing, overseas publishing, and online publishing sections, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia serving as the guest of honor. A total of 1,600 exhibitors from 71 countries and regions participated, displaying 220,000 books. Over 20 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States, set up national booths in the overseas section of the BIBF. Top international publishing houses like Springer Nature, Penguin Random House, and Wiley participated, showcasing high-quality books representing their countries’ outstanding cultural achievements. Companies like NetEase, Tencent, TikTok, miHoYo, and 37 Interactive Entertainment prominently displayed new publishing formats such as online literature and online games in the online publishing section.
The five-day BIBF was hosted by the National Press and Publication Administration.
