Tao Xingzhi — One of the Best Educationists 陶行知——最優(yōu)秀的教育家之一

It is well-known that Mr. Tao is a master of all ages. He lived in a dark time when our country were suffering a lot from the West， and when very few people saw the importance of education.

Education is the cornerstone（基石）of a strong country. However， because of poverty and the old manners， many children in rural areas couldn't go to school at that time. It was Mr. Tao who made efforts to improve the situation. Mr. Tao knew that only innovation can make Chinese education systematic. Mr. Tao not only taught his students knowledge from the textbook， but also humanness. This was a big step toward the moderneducation concept. He considered humans as the basis of education. Chinese and Western culture were combined at his schools， which was different from the former teaching style in old China.

Mr. Tao was a teacher at and beyond the school. He was by nature an active person. He had his own insight and was always brave enough to speak out against the tide of opinion. Nothing could stop him spreading the truth among the young. As a sincere man， Mr. Tao was worth having the name of “People's Teacher”. It was he that showed the young man and the whole country a path towards the bright future.

Nowadays， Mr. Tao's principles are still having a great effect on people. Teachers are now taking the baton（接力棒）of Mr. Tao， teaching people and spreading truth and love. They are building human's soul.
