Marxism and the Excellent Aspects of Traditional Chinese Culture

Editor’s note:The excellent aspects of traditional Chinese culture are one of the greatest strengths of the Chinese nation and the foundation on which we hold our position amidst the waves of world culture.The Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century,adopted at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth CPC Central Committee on November 11,2021,states that the CPC has been adapting the basic tenets of M arxism to the excellent aspects of traditional Chinese culture.This fully reflects the theoretical consciousness and cultural self-confidence of Chinese Communists.In its endeavors over the past century,the CPC has led its people in successfully developing a Chinese path of modernization and creating a new civilizational form for humanity.Cultural spirit and civilizational forms are interactive.In the New Era of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and the new journey toward the Second Centenary Goal of developing China into a great modern socialist country,how to understand and practice the concept of adapting the basic tenets of Marxism to the excellent aspects of traditional Chinese culture to further enhance national self-conf idence and rational introspection is a major issue.To this end,Confucian Academysolicited contributions from four well-known scholars on this issue and are now pleased to publish their discussions in writing for the benef it of our readers.
