This and That

It is a special（特殊的） day for Cat.

She wakes up very early today.

She has some work to do.

Cat comes to Pig’s home.

“Hello， Pig，” says Cat.

“May I have some of your straw？”

“Help yourself，” says Pig.

“What’s it for？”

“This and that，” says Cat.

Cat comes to Goat’s home.

“Hello， Goat，” says Cat.

“May I have some hay？”

“If you want，” says Goat.

“What do you want it for？”

“This and that，” says Cat.

Cat comes to Sheep’s home.

“Hello， Sheep，” says Cat.

“May I have some of your soft wool？”

“Of course you may，” says Sheep.

“What are you going to do with it？”

“This and that，” says Cat.

Cat comes to Hen’s home.

“Hello， Hen，” says Cat.

“May I have a few of your feathers？”

“You may，” says Hen.

“But what for？”

“This and that，” says Cat.

Cat comes to Cow’s home.

“Hello， Cow，” says Cat.

“May I have some hair from your tail？”

“Yes，” says Cow.

“What are you going to do with them？”

“This and that，” says Cat.

Cat behaves strangely（行為很奇怪）.

“What does Cat want with all these things？” asks Hen.

“Perhaps she’s moving house，” says Cow.

“Cats don’t like moving，” says Pig.

“Let’s follow her，” suggests（建議） Sheep.

The animals all hide.

When Cat appears， they tiptoe（踮著腳走） after her.

Cat goes inside her home.

And the animals follow silently（靜靜地） behind.

In one corner， they see ... two kittens！

They are inside a nest made from hay and straw.

The nest is covered with Sheep’s wool， hair from Cow’s tail， and feathers from Hen.

“What a lovely surprise，” cheers Cow.

“They’re beautiful，” says Goat.

“So that’s what you need our things for！” says Sheep.

“Yes， thank you， my friends， ” says Cat.

Pig asks， “What are the kittens called？”

Cat sighs， “I don’t know. What do you think？”

The animals think， think and think.

Then they say together，

“We know ...

This and That！”
