Overseas Publishing and Distribution Project for Choice New Original Chinese Stories successfully enters the list of China’s key projects for copyrights export

Lately， the list of Key National Project for Cultural Export 2021/2022 was released. The Overseas Publishing and Distribution Project for Original Quality Works of Chinese New Stories of Jilin Publishing Group Co.， Ltd. was successfully selected onto the list.

The Overseas Publishing and Distribution Project for Original Quality Works of Chinese New Stories is a new media integration product of Jilin Publishing Group Co.， Ltd.’s Go Global strategy. Its contents mainly include the CPC Centenary： New Stories of the Revolutionary Lands series， Arousing Children’s Love for Jilin series， Wu Meizhen Children Detective Science series， and a new series of classic stories， all of which were written by famous Chinese writers and illustrated by well-known Chinese young painters and famous illustrators from countries along the Belt and Road. The project published multilingual original quality painting collections for children of 5 to 12 years old around the world， including both traditional paper versions and digital audio products. It belongs to the overseas cooperation project of the cultural industry of Jilin media integration publishing products.

The CPC Centenary： New Stories of the Revolutionary Lands series was produced to welcome the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The series focused on four revolutionary places of the CPC： Jiaxing， Yan’an， Jinggangshan， and Zunyi. With these four places as the background， and to form the children’s perspective and understanding， the writers filled the books with imagination and positive energy. The books allow the children to visit the four revolutionary places through the pages， giving them a visual and perceptual understanding through the combination of photos of the sacred places and warm-hearted stories， and inspiring them to cherish life through the painted stories， helping them develop a correct view of world， values， and life. 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. At such a memorable moment， the new stories of revolutionary lands were published in the form of paintings for children at ages of 3 to 6， aiming to plant in their hearts a seed of positive energy and let them personally look back on the year 2021 with experience and understanding.

The Arousing Children’s Love for Jilin series focuses on Jilin’s characteristics and takes the regional culture of Jilin Province as the creation background. Its contents are related to the stories of agricultural science popularization in Jilin Province， Northeast China folk culture， the ecological environment of black soil， the development of agricultural science and technology， the construction of Northeast China’s granary， and so on. Through the combination of cultural knowledge paintings and illustrations， it allows children to understand the great changes and humanistic development of Jilin in the new era， and broaden the the children’s horizons. The stories include 12 volumes， including Dandelions Fly to the Black Land， Harvest Season of People in Northeast China， Rice Meets Corn， Let a Seed Settle Down in a Pear Tree， A Red Flag Car is Full of Grain.

The Wu Meizhen Children Detective Science series is the first detective and scientific series that Wu Meizhen created in the form of painting， following the writer Zhou Rui’s cooperation with Jilin Publishing House. Its contents are related to garbage classification， drug safety， natural phenomena， chemical reactions， and outdoor safety. It aims to improve children’s concentration and stimulate their imagination. The stories have meticulous logic， correctly told knowledge and novel approaches for selecting topics. Explaining the profound in simple terms， the investigation into cases helps the child to open logical thinking and develop the character of integrity.

In the new series of classic stories， Xue Weimin， a famous writer for children’s books was invited to compile this set of Chinese classic stories， and many award-winning illustrators from around the world were invited to draw illustrations for the series to

offer a visual feast. This series consists of 10

volumes， including Nezha Conquering the Dragon King， The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea，

Monkeys Grasping for the Moon， Mulan Joining the Army， Sima Guang Smashing the Urn， Pan Gu Creating the World， Nu Wa Patching up the Sky， Yu the Great Harnessing the Flood， Kua Fu Chasing the Sun， and Making Havoc in Heaven. This series of painted books covers Chinese creation myths， folktales， historical figures， philosophical thoughts， and Chinese traditional culture as a whole， and provides a set of wholesome reading materials for children for the popularization of Chinese excellent traditional culture. Besides， it also undertakes the task of Go Global.

At present， all the works are being translated into English version. Senior English teachers from

Shanghai New Oriental Foreign Language School are invited to adapt and create the text， which is not only conducive to the work of Go Global but also provides a resource guarantee for bilingual reading， children’s graded reading， English story reading， recording of audiobooks and other aspects for readers in the

countries taking part in the Belt and Road Initiative in the future.
